- Our next American Roadside Attraction was the famous Corn Palace located in Mitchell, South Dakota. This place has an extensive history to the it and holds the title for being the worlds only corn palace. Each year the murals are changed and they're made entirely of corn. Pretty nice little town to stop, see the place, and get some lunch.
Without a doubt The Corn Palace is one of the best kept secrets in the USA. Fine example of middle America. We were there sometime in the 80's.
Thank you for the shout out to my shop Bailey Metal Fabricators!!
I follow your machining youtube channel and was excited to see your Corn Palace video.
Too bad I didn't see you in town I could have given you a shop tour, we are only a couple of blocks from the Corn Palace.
Thank you again!!!
Abby the grain on the corn Palace also helps the birds survive the winters there in SD. !!
Thanks for sharing with us, looks like a great time. Stay safe and keep having fun. Fred. 🙏🏻🙏🏻👍👍👋👋👏🏻👏🏻
Wasn't that just the Corniest place on earth!!! Glad you guys stopped! Don't forget the Minuteman museum at the Badlands loop, 1880's town before that if you can!! There's an old car museum out there also before the Badlands
Safe travels and enjoy!!
You're doing what I loved to do when I was young enough. I always stayed off the freeways and saw the real America on the back roads. Thanks for taking us along with you!
What a great building guys , thank you for the video of your great journey 👏👏👏👏👍🍺🍺🇬🇧🥰😎😎
Thanks for the memories of the corn palace, Haven't seen it since the mid 70s
Abby would make the sun shine on a dreary day, so much positive energy
Me So Corny is like the most Abby t-shirt. She loves her puns on shirts!
I played a soldout show in this a couple years ago
So cool!
Hey when y'all go back to Iowa you should stop and see ole Albert in Audubon Iowa. 🐮 ❤️
Love your videos! Travel Safe 😁
Really enjoying this! Thanks.
So cool! Corn Palace is one of my bucket list visits. I loved seeing my 2nd favorite machinists (sorry,Dads #1) visiting it.
Glad to see you went to the Corn Palace, awesome!
Abom and Abby are relationship goals, not afraid to be corny together
Gooood afternoon from central Florida! Hope everyone has a great day!
So cool!! Loved how you took us into the gift shop with you guys to collect your stickers and of course Abby's t-shirt!!!! Would you guys consider coming up to Alberta, Canada to experience the Rocky Mountains???? LOVE you guys!!!
I mainly watch this channel just to hear Abbey chuckle
Is it just me, or You Tube, I get a lot of sections in Mono.. left ear only audio. I notice it on some other channels too. The video was amazing.. I really want to visit in 2022.. that looks so fun! I love corn and I do bet the place smells amazing. Lots of Love to you both and thank you for putting in the time and effort to make the video.
I sometimes have trouble from our Rode mic system and I don’t know why. I have some videos where it sounds like static interference. Other times it goes to mono. I have to figure out if I’m pushing the button to change the settings. I don’t know until I edit the video and hear it.
@@AbomAdventures what mic are you using? I’m an audio engineer.
If you think this is interesting, look up the Mud Flood theory. Jon Levi has an excellent channel on the history of this time period when corn palaces were everywhere. Interesting stuff!!! Also, Paul Cook has an amazing video on the corn palaces called “the great corn exposition”!
My parents went there when I was just a kid probably 60 years ago. Reptile gardens is also another attractions near there.
Sad to see the wasted good crop. I would have stripped the cornels and put the empty cobs on the artwork. Thanks for your tour though with the Abom Adventures. Cheers from your heavenly brother Charles Andrew Oyedele Ososami. Peace
Mitchell isn't far from where my dad grew up. The corn palace is the kinda thing you tell someone about and they look at you like you have two heads. But then they see it and nobody walks away saying it wasn't worth it. Most say that was a neat thing to visit. Safe travels guys!
very cool
Have a beer on me! lol...
When I first drove past this place I thought, "Only in America".
One of my other favorite youtubers is just down the road a few miles from Mitchell, SD...
Who?
It's so flat you can watch your dog run away for a week.
Well wasn't that something...:-)
Its nice but surprised that there is enough corn to do that this year with the drought here in the SD.
You think that that the corn palace would sell corn fritters. 😛
The murals change every year. Different theme every year. This year it's a Circus theme
Just don't get popcorny Abom...
Shouldn't it be in Nebraska? That's like our whole thing here.
Sorry dude Iowa is a little better
👍👍👍☕☕☕
Is that where they keep all the bad jokes?
👋👋👀👏🇺🇸🇺🇸
🇳🇱👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🍀
Great reports on your trip, feel like i am there. Please read the email i sent to your Gmail Acct. Don't know how often you look at that one. -- LYLE
So this is the building that medium Americans love so much, and find better than Colosseum , Pyramids, Partenon ...ecc.... Ok .... i get it .... 😓
Na, we went there. Kids not impressed. Come on people, it's a palice made of corn. Greater than the pyramids? Yes. Because it's made of corn. Are the pyramids? Didn't think so. Back off, Tut.
@@kevinmcc9408 But I'm willing to bet it won't be as long-lasting as the Pyramids.
@@rigelb9025in the end it all burns up. Nothing that humans built or made will be left. It will all be destroyed and forgotten.
@@ChrisPBacon-yz6nk I think the burning stage has been reached.
Glad you guys are enjoying you travels of our great country in your fuel guzzling RV before Biden bans all travel in them.
There’s no reason to go inside the Corn Palace. Outside is enough.
Corny art...:-)
I stopped watching as a soon as I seen people with mask.... UNSUBCRIBED 🖐
PERIOD!!!!!!
