- 97 dodge 2wd 12v 6speed Cummins 5x14's and a hybrid 63mm hx35, double disk. Exhaust brake, 191dv's 4k governor. Fass fuel 150 19° timing. Air ride. Hauling a 40' trailer and m9000 and 15' woods bush hog.
The windshield of this tractor is tinted now.

Jason wyres hell yeah 12 valve is definitely the best sounding out of the cummins series. Definitely most reliable too. I have a 97 7.3 noe but im trying to get the 12 valve instead now just gotta save up a little to get a decent one. Way easier to work on than these v8 diesels too man. lmao

Might turn the pre boost screw down a bit. It will clear up the smoke a bit, lower EGT's and probably let the hybrid hx35 spool up a bit quicker.
Js, but it spooled just fine. I later put compounds on it. Cleaned her right up

@@JW10.4 I used to own a compound turbo 12 valve with a 188/220 cam. It was really hard to keep cleaned up, but it was still easily done even when pulling trailer.
You’ll ruin your engine sooner with all that soot getting in your oil and gunking up valves, etc. egts will go to high as well. Better to stay one gear lower a d a less stressed engine

Too much black smoke, too much pre boost fuel and not enough on boost fuel. afc needs to be tuned and gotta run a different fuel plate.
Can't tune an "afc" or change torque plate if there isn't any of the crap on it. It's all the fuel...
@@JW10.4 Get an AFC live I guess, super nice and easy to install, then your engine can run clean and efficient.

@@CrazyForCooCooPuffs I don't think you have been around many high HP diesel engines boss man, if so you wouldn't be telling me how to tune an engine that clearly didn't drop lower than 1600rpm between shifts. Having the proper tools to do a job before you do the job is part of being a mechanic. Anyways truck ran great has been across the country many times. I sold it a few yrs ago with 425k showing. I appreciate your input, just don't think it was needed since it was literally a video of the sound and the load being pulled. Check my page I don't have any how to videos.

@@coreyjohnston5962 Seeing as how Jason wyres says its a 6 speed, and he is the original poster of the video I am gonna go with it's a 6 speed. Would have had a 5 speed originally but 6 speed swaps are real popular with the older trucks.
