- Odd’s parents come by for a visit. The youth grouses about his family to his friends (who are stunned at how nice, in fact, Odd’s parents are), preferring to be in conflict with them like every other “normal” teenager. Meanwhile, Xana attacks, using mobile phone to make their owners particularly aggressive, thus fulfilling Odd’s wish: his parents, victims of the possessed phones, are now looking to kill their son…

I don't know why, but this is one of my favorite XANA attack. Probably how the possessed people were acting. They were more aggressive, but retain some of their personality.

I think this is simply like other episodes where he can manipulate people in more ways than direct possession. After all, he managed to tweak a song to emit an ultrasonic sound that induced coma, turn the entire Kadic Academy into zombies, and at least a couple others I'm sure I'm missing.

@@icypika i remember this show from when I was very young, I always hated it SO MUCH. like... its soooo weird, i never understood the plot (not obvious) and the battle are just so... lame? like seriously, why do you like it? its so akward, and especially the 3D animation is awful.
This was early 2000 of course the 3D animation isn't going to be amazing. You have to respect them for trying and for all it's worth it was good for the time period animation wise."

I really like how this episode treated ulrichs fear of heights/vertigo- it’s kinda a small thing but I like him getting mad at the world/himself. It fits his personality. Also for such a self assured character (at least in his own physical ability) i think it makes him more human to have this weakness
One of literally only two episodes it's ever come up, which is funny because he climbed during Jim's boot camp, regularly jumps down a rope two stories to get into the factory, grinds down a full flight of stairs in the sewers, and then constantly had to climb the walls up sector five to hit the buttons to stop the timer.

It feels like they’re not seeing Odd for who he really is, and it doesn’t seem like they talk that much. But Odd thinks this disconnect is coming from the fact that he doesn’t get into fights with his parents… which is weird, but is just a symptom of the underlying issue here: it’s almost like his parents don’t care.

Jamal Dejesus Go watch the special XANA Awakens. That will tell you why Sissi isn't in the group. I felt the same way until I watched that for the first time in years. I'm still wishing Jim would've joined, since he clearly would have been a good member. Wouldn't have had to fight, but been one of the ones outside helping. Sure he could lose his job, but protecting the world or keeping your job, clearly one is more important.

I was going to comment how he didn't freak out when he and Yumi were hanging off his sword but his focus was probably on her safety and not letting go. Then once they're in less peril on the little island Aelita made it comes back.
I guess this and the other times he was running up trees in the forest sector or flying around in Sector Five can be chalked up him being able to focus on something else in the heat of the moment -and not writing inconsistencies because they didn't think through all the details a character with height vertigo would entail nope lol-

According to what I heard, they got rid of the Forest and Ice Sectors in CLE because they were the most expensive to animate. Having 6 sectors (including the Cortex) being animated instead of 4 would be more expensive. The Forest Sector was the most obvious choice due to it requiring richer textures and large amounts of objects to render. As for the Ice Sector, it is a lighting engine nightmare. That's part of why it was so comparatively dark, especially early on.

Man at this point I really don't know what their ages are either. What I do know is that Yumi's the oldest because she's a grade above the others (14 or 15 years old) and Aelita's most likely the youngest of the group being 13 years old like Jeremie said in the previous episode. I may or may not be wrong (I'm confident I'm right though) but I hope that helps :)
Destrax you were close. Although Odd and Ulrich is around 14, and Yumi is approximately 15, Jeremy is the youngest member of the group about 13 years old. As for Aelita, she is the oldest. Physically she is approximately 13, but chronology, she is 23.

I think he just wanted some sort of discipline so he can feel normal. Usually because he's afraid he doesn't know any better which stems from parents spoiling the hell out of their kids. I can understand why Odd felt this way, and it's something we never see in the show. As you can tell honestly he's not even afraid of the xanafied adults as he's already in quite a depressive mood. Only running away from pure endurance and live threatening moods that already evolved from being in Lyoko so much.

I must say, this is THE GENTLEST and quite possible the best xana attack the show has witnessed... everyone is actually sensible about all the stuff they say and do, they aren't complete zombies, and you can actually see what possible good parts of xana there are, keepng mind xana was made by FH as an AI I believe? Yeah? Anyways, this episode kinda showcases the better side of the AI
Well. Odd got what he wanted.
Everyone was so chill in this episode, especially X.A.N.A. He literally let the Lyoko Warriors casually walk out of the theater after he possessed everyone and was willing to fix Odd a sandwich as a final request. He's normally ruthless and could have killed Sissi and Odd after having them surrounded. What was going on?
They could have answered some remaining questions about the series, but no instead they gave us filler episodes.
Most filler episodes involving Odd at that.
I'd prefer an episode titled
"Better talk about it".
Honestly, if at any point Yumi, Ulrich, or Aelita smacked Odd, it would have been 100% justified; Yumi's parents have conflicts every other episode they're featured, Ulrich's dad is a raging asshole, and Aelita's parents are either missing or dead!

I’ve always wondered why the tower music was slightly remixed in this episode. Maybe since this is the last tower Aelita ever deactivates in the series, the producers wanted to commemorate it.
Damn, this show definitely had it’s dark moments. The whole mob was really about to push Odd and Sissi off the edge to their deaths.

You know, Odd is feeling like that because his parents are kinda suffocating. Too caring and pampering. It can get irritating. I like the instances when Aelita is useful.
They should have written the episode better. He could have said something along the lines of “I know my parents care about me, but they care a little too much.” Instead, he gives the very dumb reason of “I wish I could have conflict with them.”
Half the time they were in Lyoko aelita could have gone right to the tower with almost no trouble

When you have parents that are always nice and supportive to you and never get mad at you when your other friends talk about having the occasional spat with their parents it makes you wonder if they really do love you. Like Do they love you enough to punish you when you've been bad?
