- Gold Fox Mini Monster tweaks to increase flour gold capture. The Gold Fox Mini Monster high banker has two mats: an upper mat and a lower mat. It's the upper mat that I've replaced with a combination of mats that capture more flour gold. Included are detailed instructions.

Very nice production. I'm looking forward to getting a back series unit and a mini steam sluice also. Not just for clean up, but for back packing ability before I bring I the bigger equipment. And the music was fantastic.
I just got the Prospectors Dream DreamMat conversion for my Mini Monster yesterday and tested it today. I put 2 grams of fine gold in 10 lbs of material and ran it at 51 on the speed controller at 8 degrees. After panning the cons, drying the gold, and weighing it I had recovered all of the 2 grams of gold from the mats.
Checked all the tailings by classifying and manually panning and found NO gold made it out of the mats into the tailings. I was skeptical of the Dream Mat but after todays test I am sold on it for the Mini Monster and it had a superior capture rate over the original matting under similar circumstances. It captured all but a very small amount of the black sands and had a good exchange as well as also most of the small pebbles and blond sands and light material washing off the sluice. I found clean out to be as fast or maybe just a tiny bit faster than the original mats as well. Based on what I saw today I believe I will also be able to run more material before cleanout vs the original mats. My experience was I would have to clean out after running about 4 gallons of material, from what I see in testing today the Dream Mat does not seem to get overwhelmed by the material like it did clogging the small riffles of the original mats. Just my 2 cents worth based on some testing... Hopefully next weekend I can get it out in the field and really give it a workout.
I am not sure I like the idea of having to tape and untape matting in the field, that would be a royal pain and make cleanout take even longer when we are working to get max volume processed in our limited amount of time.
