This was my time and it was in the 1980s this particular song.Lou found God and that is the love he is singing about. 3/4 through every performance he has a choir come in behind him, and it becomes so powerful. I had the pleasure to have met one of the Foreigner guitarists that recorded with them in some songs and he talked highly about Lou Gramm singing capabilities and the band was made of fantastic musicians. They changed so many times that was their only problem.

If you liked this, another soft/love ballad from their 1981 album entitled "4" is it. One song kept it off the #1 spot, stalled at #2 on the billboard charts for weeks! It's still my favorite Foreigner song (aside from URGENT, also from the 4 album). I saw them during their tour for both the album "4" on 3/8/82 again on 4/5/85 for their lp "Agent Provocateur", from which this song came. Senior in high school that year - as a drummer, what a way to graduate!

Other than Queen, or Foreigner, if you like singers who put emotion into their songs, you'd very likely like any of the major hits (performed live) by Led Zeppelin. Robert Plant is highly evocative performer. If you want the same sort of emotion with more grit, then a live version of Bruce Springsteen doing Born in the USA or some ballad. And if you want a completely different type of emotion (happiness), try any of the live hits by The Talking Heads. Thanks for sharing your surprise and joy at hearing these songs. Love is by far the strongest emotion one can have. I am talking true love that you can feel in your soul, not a fling or a so called love at first sight which is crazy. How can you love someone without knowing them ? Lust at first sight maybe, but not Love.
