I’m a casting champion and have tried many bamboo rods. Charles Ritz parabolics, etc Bamboo is heavier and the rod weight must be combined with the line weight to cast well. It has a certain charm, but give me the light weight high power graphite or boron rods! I use a 20ft 10 weight rod which casts 200 ft. I also have a 17ft rod that casts over 300 ft. Who needs to fish when you can enjoy the line through the air, and practicing technique!

What lines are you using? Triangle Tapers? Lee Wulff used a 6ft bamboo rod and caught countless salmon.
