  • Within Tolkien’s Middle-earth, we know that each Ring of Power carries an extraordinary amount of enigmatic power, but, what if ALL 20 rings were worn by one being? Today, we explore that hypothetical idea! Thank you all so much for watching, let me know your thoughts on someone wearing each ring in the comments below! As always, a great thanks to the online artists whose visual works made this video possible! If you are one of the artists, please let me know and I will post your name and a link to your work in this description!

    If you collected all the rings you would unlock the achievement of Hoarder of the rings .You would be able to down load all the special ring tones. You would also receive unlimited onion rings . However you would always have a ring around your bath tub. Another plus you would always be able to put a ring on it. More likely the one ring would just do its thing and corrupt you to Sauron's will with the others just speeding the process.

    I think it would drive the person completely insane to have all 20 rings of power. Unless they were a Valar, I definitely don't think any of the 2nd children could handle them or the 1st children for that matter. Maybe one of the Maiar but I don't even know if any of them could. I bet Saruman would love to have them all. He thinks so much of himself, he'd try to convince himself that he could control them all but I think they would destroy his mind eventually.

      Yeah sauron got more use out of the rings by giving them away and dominating the bearer (in the case of men) or attempting to (in the case of dwarves) but even his failed attempt to dominate the dwarves still worked in his favor by their effects on the dwarf kingdoms and the dragon fallout the resulted.

  • @Ensign_Nemo
    @Ensign_Nemo Před 8 měsíci +2

    Sauron managed to get all nine rings for Men, which he used to control the Nazgul. He was suspected to have retrieved all three of the surviving seven rings of the Dwarves, although the ring of Thror was the only one mentioned specifically. The other four were presumed to be lost or destroyed by dragonfire. He never had any of the three Elven rings. He had, then lost the One ring.
    That would mean that Sauron had at least 10 rings (the Nine plus the One) before Isildur took the One from him, and he may have had two of the Dwarves' rings too, or 12 of the surviving 16 rings. He lost the One and took a Dwarven ring, so he held perhaps 12 when he was finally destroyed.

      I wonder how middle earth would look like if hypothetically sauron corrupted all seven dwarf ringbearers (obviously pre dragonfire) and the nine rings of men? Or all the rings for that matter? Great question! Never have thought about it before, but it's really interesting.
    I think some high elf /maia /vala /even maybe man with very strog will (actually, I think only someone from Elendil's liniage) could controll the rings and use them, but I'm not able to imagine what would he /she use them for, because they have whidely different purposes. I think that the ringsbearer would more likely take just the One ring and give other rings to some creatures which he would controll. He could delegate the rings to them and use them to fulfill his will and plans /desires. It would be much more sensible and practical than leaving the rings for himself. So I think he just would take the rings, put them on his /her fingers, made a popular photo on Instagram (could take a video on TikTok as well) and then would create an army (or, let'say bureaucratic apparate) of infinitely loyal servants. I would act so. :)

      One theory I've seen, and I am uncertain as to it's veracity, is that the One Ring could enhance the natural powers of the person wearing it. For the most part, we've seen Hobbits wear the Ring, namely Frodo and Bilbo.
      Hobbits are known to be small, light on their feet, and naturally stealthy; hence Bilbo being Gandalf's logical choice for a burglar.
      Hobbits also live longer than other mortal men, such that their coming of age is at 33 rather than 16-18 for men, and Bilbo being 111 wasn't particularly a shock - only the fact he hadn't aged.
      The theory goes that the Ring enhanced both traits, stealth becoming pure invisibility and their long life becoming longer. But that could be entirely BS in canon for all I know. Gandalf infers that tempting him with the Ring could lead to terrible abuses of his power, and I choose to assume he means more than simply an invisible Gandalf.

    My view is, if they could survive long enough to actually put on all 20 rings, then they would immediately be consumed with fire, unless they were a being of Sauron's level.
    I think the reason the One Ring doesn't do that is because it was designed more to control or dominate, rather than to overtly give power.
    But when its power is joined with all 19 lesser rings, then all power associated with it and them is now focused onto one node, and any lesser being just couldn't handle it.

    Only someone with great power, like a light elf or a Maia, could really draw out the power of even one ring. Even having all the rings other than the one wouldn’t help if they couldn’t draw the one that they possessed. Having all 20 rings in the possession of one Maia or light elf might potentially make them a threat to Sauron without the one ring, if Sauron’s taint on the seven and the nine didn’t destroy the holder. One ring was enough to enslave a man of Nûmenor. Magnifying that by 16 might overwhelm even the strongest Maia and light elf. Even including the one ring wouldn’t be enough to take on the Valar.

    The common feature of all power rings (except for the powers found in the Three Rings and those coming from Sauron) is that they have an effect that increases the will power of the owner since they are created for the same purpose. It is possible for a being who holds all the power rings to maximize his willpower, but I cannot foresee whether this will cause any side effects.
    Rings of power do not carry within them pure power, expressed by Tolkien as the "inherent energy of the spirit". In fact, in the power ring doctrine, the source of this power is not explained other than the One Ring. Rings of power only help a being to unleash its inherent volitional power potential. It can be simply thought of as follows: If a person can use 5% of his brain, he can access 100% of it through these rings of power. In this way, the power ring bearer becomes perfect in his ability depending on the purpose of use.

    Tolkien saw magic (the concept) for what it is: The direct imposition of the will over matter. Things happen because you want them to happen, and in response to your will, reality obliges to some degree. The Ainur had this power, the Elves had it to a lesser degree, and Men did not have it at all.

    Soft magic is awesome but in a sense wild. Hard magic is if I am right would be limited to the one wielding it. That is how I see it usually. A ring is unique or a special kind of choice and the one ring set a presidence or standard, I would love to see a video by this channel to on what if they made their own ring, would it be bound to the one or distinct, would they have items or other rings connected to it, would this ring be godly or more mortal in its potential and or obvious use. Also I wanted to say that Dragons Dogma had a ring as well which could be used as a reference for more ideas.

    The only being besides a Maia that could retrieve all 20 rings would be Glorfindal. He could get one elf ring from Elrond. Take the One Ring from Frodo and command the Nazgul. He would have the strength and will to overthrow Middle Earth.

    I have always thought of the rings as lens that focus existing power. For example, the one on Frodo's finger is not as powerful as on Sauron's. The ring isn't the source of the power, it amplifies what already exists. Use of the rings seems to require some focus as well, whether it be regular meditation or hand gestures/focus. I do not think that anyone could utilize all the rings at the same time. I have also always kind of thought of the one and the others as being opposites. If you brought the one together with all the rest, they would cancel each other out.

  • @jaye1967
    @jaye1967 Před 7 měsíci

    Here's a minor consideration in your theory, why would one need to put rings on their toes. Given how magic works in this world, I'm guessing having multiple rings on one finger would make no difference. And given the tradition of wearing an engagement and wedding together on the same finger, I don't see the need to wear rings on toes. In fact, given that the one ring seems to be able to alter its physical characteristics, they could all be incorporated into some sort of gauntlet.

    @gu3457 Před 8 měsíci

    One more thing. I hope you're aware that you can wear more than one ring on one finger. Especially these type of rings which are getting automatically adjusted when you put them on. No need for using toes.

  • @Tiredjungle13
    @Tiredjungle13 Před 5 měsíci

    But could 19 of them be used to destroy the one Ring ? Like would all the rings toogether be able to overpower it ? It would be an interesting idea. In Tolkiens works there is a great idea of working toogether to defeat evil. So perhaps it was part of Saurons plan to split them up so they would not work toogether. For example if all 19 rings would have been given up selflessly to someone like Gandalf he could have tried to use them to break the one ring.

    My guess or opinion before watching the video: again it depends on the strength; however anybody who would have the strength to wield the One and does so, would become a Dark Lord in replacement of Sauron...
    Furthermore, the One is the Ring to subdue all other rings including the Three to its will...
    I.e. the answer must be the same as to that of, what power one or in particular Sauron would wield with the One on his hand...
    If you have the One and if you can wield it, you would rule them all...
