who else is an aussie pub kid who GREW UP on this song?
Yep grew up on Aussie rock, I still love it!😊😊😊
Yeah mate !
You bet 👍👍👍
Aussie rock in the 80s nobody beats it NOBODY!
This is classic Aussie pub rock, it gets everyone of their arses and up dancing
If you can listen to this song without tapping your feet you have no feet
It's quite interesting how Aussie rock had its own sound. Always could tell an Aussie song by the sound 🥰🥰. Good old pub scene sound. Live rock music has seen its day unfortunately, 😭💔. Hope you are holding up ok 😊
Yep the good old pub rock sound 🎸 we pump this in Coonamble NSW 🤙🔥
Most of these bands came out of the pub rock scene and near all had hard driving bass and were all tight as or did not make the scene
Aussie pub rock is some of the greatest music ever
The exact reason why Silverchair doesn't sound like Nirvana.
Oh, not an Aussie band but it fits in with this. The Stranglers, Gold n Brown. Another incredible heroin song.
You couldn't go to a party in Australia without hearing this.
This is one of the best songs ever created,I love this song
The smile on your face depicts how every Australian feels when they hear this song.
This is the first Choirboys song I have seen you do but it's about time people started to recognize Australian music
Every older Aussie knows every word to this song what a banger!🔥
Loved this song as a kid play it over and over
This genre is what we call ‘pub-rock’. So many rock bands from Australia started playing at local pubs, so the grunge and all that comes from the Aussie pub scene culture of locals, working class mostly, sinking some cold tinnies, getting tipsy (many times drunk 😂) after a hard days work sweating from the heat haha. Super iconic and the pub-rock sound/vibe is very common in a lot of legendary Aussie music!
Classic Aussie track that still stands up.
welcome to the 80's mate we old folk love our music
It's hard to imagine hearing this song for the first time. This song has been part of the Australian soundtrack for nearly 35 years and there wouldn't be many Aussies, of any age, who wouldn't know it. I know this song inside out and upside down, I've heard it many hundreds of times and probably played it close to a hundred times. You will still hear this song played every week by cover bands in pubs all across the country.
One of my favourite bands from the pub scene back in the 80’s. This song is about the slippery slope that is drug addiction.
Yep, they used to play at the Glider Room, Dee Why Hotel every week. We were so spoilt to see the cream of Australian rock for free at our locals. On Sydney’s north shore, heroin was sadly rife at the time.
One of the many fantastic Australian songs about addiction.
@@Laraine3 omg I currently live in DeeWhy :)
@@tomrhumb390 no I never said it was about heroin. Addiction comes in all forms though sadly 😢
OMG you so need to do The Angels - Am I ever gonna see your face again - LIVE VERSION.... classic Australian song
Holy shit, YES!!!
Omg this reminds me in my early young days ❤ what a group just love them ❤❤❤
Saw these guys performing a couple of weeks ago when they were the support act to Jon Stevens. The lead singer is now 71 but can still get this song out just as good as it sounds here.
I was thinking "bollocks" about his age ... then I remembered I'm 50.

@@francespowell6923 You youngsters! No respect! 😂
An Australian rock classic from the 80’s. A karaoke favourite. There’s so many great Aussie songs you haven’t heard yet!
This song always puts me in a good mood 🙂
The Choirboys typified the Aussie 80s 'pub rock' sound - gritty guitar and vocals, great melodies and choruses that a drunken crowd absolutely loved 😍 Long live Aussie rock!
This was my mother's phone alarm my whole childhood. Every morning I'd just hear this song playing in her room.
I was born in ‘83 and therefore started going to pubs with friends on nights where they rotated DJs with cover bands in the early 2000s. This song has always been one of our favourites to sing along to… it’s just an absolute belter.
Legendary Aussie song 🎵
Such a classic song, many nights out over the years singing along to this one haha 🎶🎤
One of my seminal bands as a youth. I'm nearly deaf in my right ear from standing too close to the speakers at their concerts. Great live band.
This is one of those songs that gets picked up by each new generation in Australia.... Usually put on by some crusty like myself and the youngens f@cken love it. ..a bit like 'Am I Ever gonna see your face again'. Put them on in a pub or just a gathering & watch them LOVE it 😁
🤘🤘🇦🇺
This song actually has a strong message!
About drug abuse, back in the 80s Australia
These guy were are awesome live, couldn't even count the amount of times I saw them! Love these guys!
This is the ultimate drunk sing-along song 😂😂😂
Classic Aussie rock song🤘. You still hear in pubs and on classic rock radio. And it gets covered a lot by other bands.
This song takes me back to my Year 6 excursion and these boys did a talent show to this song and we all loved it... Best song!! 🇦🇺💙🙏
Are you serious ? Myself and a couple of mates of mine performed this song as well as Boys Will Be Boys and James Dale from the Choirboy in my year 6 talent quest lol. I was Mark Gable cos I knew all the words to all their songs lol
This was voted number pub rock song for years and sung at many a karaoke night.just a great catchy song
This song is an Australian anthem. Love it
These guys originated near where I grew up in the late70s 80s in Sydney. Saw them a few times at pubs along Sydney northern beaches. This particular song is about the lead singer Mark seeing a girl he fancied while working as a window dresser!! at Warringah Mall (all northern beach-ites will be familiar). She worked in Woolworths or Safeways supermarket whatever. Eventually he came up with the courage to speak to her and ask her out. She just told him to piss off.
We saw them a couple of years ago at Cremorne (yes they are still around) where he told that story.
They still sounded as good as ever and one of the guys' 80 year old mother was there right up the front!
Great band, great song! Always felt that this song was perfect for a big movie soundtrack.
This classic Aussie hit could be just the right song for summer in America 👍
Rediscovering Aussie music through you has been a daily joy for the past few months bro. Thank you!
Great band to watch live, saw them when they opened for Noiseworks a few years back and they were still great. Boys Will Be Boys is another classic from them.
Saw them live for the first time a month ago and absolutely loved them
Awww love this song, thanks for your appreciation of our Aussie artists mate, great reaction 👍👍☺️
Always great to see a reaction from someone to a song they have never heard before but which has almost become stale to those that know it. These are songs that we have come to take for granted over the years and moved on from, then you come along with a whole fresh perspective and it makes me realise what great music we were privileged to grow up with, and makes me sad that this style of music has had it's day.
Perfect. Wonderful insight Darren. This track is quintessential 'pub rock' from the 70s and 80s. We were so spoilt with all the music we had at the time, and didn't realise it.
Don't let them fade..get in a cover band , these rockers are timeless
I wish I could hear Choir boys for the first time again, magical!
G’Day, Oh what memories! I remember seeing these guy’s live along with some other awesome Ozzie rock legends when I was 16 years old. I’m 56 years now and would give anything to go back to my youth and do it all again😅
Cheers Kev
💕this song just brings JOY 🤩🙂💕
As do you 💖
@@Thisismeeeeee Ditto babe 💕
Perfect 80s rock. Gets me every time
Always made me hit the dance floor as soon as I heard this in the pub
Love this song, had many a night out singing along badly lol.
This is so running wild and free and having a blast in summertime 80’s Australia. Oh if only we could go back
One of the most popular songs at the pub here
Knew you'd 💙 this one 💯🎶
Classic 80's hit. Most Aussies would pick it straight away. It was their biggest hit. They still appear now and then.
That was a blast from the past. I had the vinyl single of that song back in the day, maybe about 1987 from memory? Was always one of my favourite songs...
Endless great music was normal, today it is the exception.
Hi from Queensland Australia, I grew up listening to Choirboys 🙂
Pub Rock has a certain sound to it that is distinctly Australian.
G'day mate, love this song, love the energy and always love your reactions. I can't wait for the day someone introduces you to boom crash opera. If I knew how to send a link I'd do it but I'm a bit of an old fart so I'll have to hope that one of tsr family comes through for us all.
Join his patreon and you can just message your request just put it exactly how its written on the youtube clip you pick. I was stuck on the links too, had to get my son to teach me.
Thank you Samantha, I'll give it a go. Aren't kids just amazing with technology
he will destroy his house if he hears how good boom crash opera are
How about 1927 ;)

Another great Aussie band!!!!
I'll be seeing them in couple of weeks in Sydney.
And that’s a pub song. Iconic.👍🇦🇺
I remember Run to paradise, by the Choir Boys in the last 80s era
Ahh, the soundtrack of my high school days...
Saw these guys live in the late 80s in their prime.
I always get goose bumps with this song everytime. And always yell out the Baby, Jenny, Mumma and Johnny bits and clap with the drum beats. “OPEN YOUR EYES UP”
Open your eyes up and see the addiction.
Best era for music. Best era for aussie rock, aussie pop rock. Catchy..innit.🥁🎵🎼🎵🎶🎙🎤🎶🎵🥁
Thank you for showcasing this Australian masterpiece.
May I suggest a personal Australian favourite... *Moving Pictures - What About Me* It's a song that holds a great deal of meaning for me.
What an awesome 80s pub rock anthem.
This is one of those songs that will always get played at a pub & every person in there will break out the air guitar & sing at the top of their voices!
Thanks Nick 😊 loved seeing your reaction to choirboys, as I said in our messages we have a few pub rock anthems, this song, John farnham your the voice, Jimmy Barnes khe sanh and the next one you need to do The Horses
Song by Daryl Braithwaite . Mason sends a big high five ✋️ and hug xxx lots of love and friendship 💖
Check out their tour lists. Bands like midnight oil, cold chisel, inxs, choir boys, noise works and all the rest were constantly on pub tours every night for months!
I get the feeling you genuinely love it. Good luck to you mate
my favourite song through pretty much all of my teen years. - actually pretty cool to see someone from a different culture experience it for the first time. For me - the theme song of my youth
Ah the memories. Good times 🇦🇺 🍺
The Aussie rock scene of the 80s was phenomenal, so many great songs from so many great artists
Pub rock! It's in our DNA. Maybe that's why we Aussies love those gravelly voices - being weaned on pub rock. I was 13 in 1983. Going to see amazing bands on the Gold Coast every week at Bombay Rock and the Playroom and later the Patch. On an average bill any night would be what we now realise were all legendary artists. That shapes who you are. We were so spoilt!
We have such great music talent that never leaves our shores
Omg the memories.
Love your enthusiasm, also, what a beast of a song
A proper pub banger. When it drops at 10pm the patrons go WILDDDDDDDDD
So true!
From when i first heard this back in the 80s till now this song just sends chills through my body everytime i hear it! I 💞💞💞 this song!
You can just pick your favourite depending on your mood, that's what I do ,I love them all, love you too.
This would be in my top 20 favourite songs. Transports me straight back to a specific time in my life as a teenager. Hanging with friends and one of them playing this on the guitar. Good times.
Still a favorite in Aussie pubs today. You'll nearly always have a massive sing a long
Aussie rock classic!!! 😍. Aussie rock has a lot of soul
When i first heard choirboys i was drawn to how tight they were. Still impressed to this day
Choir Boys were my 1st into in to Australian music when I got here in 86. Was like oh yes bring it on
Love this song. Takes me back to my childhood. My dad loved it and is just a great 80's Aussie Rock song.
Boys Will Be Boys is another great one of theirs
Classic haven't heard this song since I was 21 at the Pub in Semaphore.
This song always opens up a case of nostalgia for me ....just a great feel good song
G'day Mate. Glad you appreciate these guys. You might call it "core rock", we call it "pub rock". These bands were the product of relentless gigs in suburban pubs, beer barns, workingmans' clubs, and football clubs. Gigging 5 or 6 nights a week. Often not taking the stage until after 11pm and trying to win over an audience that had been drinking since 6. Most of these pub rock bands had multiple, multiple attempts to crack the US market, and America rejected them. (The Angels, Midnight Oil, Cold Chisel, Jimmy Barnes, the list goes on. And on. And on.....) Now, decades later, we get good people like yourself telling us how good our own music is.
Oh Nick we have to get your sister and you over to Australia ,your so lovable and likeable and your sister !!! Guy would luv you !!
I got to go on stage with these legends as they were performing this song as a kid and I still remember that as one of my favourite memories. Amazing dudes
Wow that's something to hold onto for life
Omg this brings back memories. The bass guitarist was someone that used to be a part of our group of friends when we were all really young. He was in a different band then.
Can’t think of Aus 80’s rock and not remember this classic tune 👍
Classic Aussie song from 1987! Boys will be Boys is another well known song of Noiseworks!
Noiseworks? That's a Choirboys song mate.
Love it. A real blast from the past 🥰
My favourite song ever ❤🇦🇺 love Aussie 80s pub rock 🥰
Great song, great band LIVE thank you Nick😎
Aussie pub rock. Classic! 👍🇦🇺
We love the Choirboys here in Australia. Amazing Band 👏
OMG = Oh My Googies
