from everything i've heard about cruises the NUMBER 1 rule is don't be late boarding the ship if you go out on an excursion! you will get left behind! there are thousands of people on a cruise ship so it's likely that someone is always bound to be late but they can't just wait bc 1 or 5 people out of 3,000 were late getting back. and they have to set sail at certain times to be on time to the next destination as well as deal with the weather. there are many factors that go into sailing so you can't expect to delay an entire cruise for an individual being late. it's unfortunate that someone that got left behind was pregnant and someone had a heart condition but the cruise doesn't know your medical conditions and those passengers went on the cruise at their own risk knowing the rules. they STRESS the late policy and the STRICTNESS of it on cruises and no one goes on a cruise not knowing how serious the late rule is. it's unfortunate but passengers get left behind on cruises all the time and the cruise is not liable. it's just that this number being 8 was likely a more significant number of people left behind than average
They only wait if you book an excursion with the cruise line. I am willing to pay more for a cruise line excursion for that exact reason. If it's 3rd party and late, tough luck.
THIS! I’ve been on plenty of cruises and the time thing is always stressed. they WILL leave you. they have specific times they can be docked, other ships are coming in, and the current ship has more stops to get to. This is why you book excursions with the ship, those ones will make it a priority to get you back on time and they are contracted with the ship in case something happens and you’re late. The other ones do not have that same contract and the timing is 100% on you if you book it
the thing about the morgan wallen situation is that he's known for getting belligerently drunk and it's caused him problems before. wasn't he a headliner for stagecoach and literally couldn't perform and cancelled his set bc he was too drunk? now he's throwing chairs off roofs??? not ok. get some help dude

as a woman who was involved in a male dominated sport for a decade I will never understand not uplifting another woman. especially if that woman is bringing in soooooooo many viewers to a sport that was so overlooked. I was never much a basketball fan in general but I will be tuning into women’s college games and the WNBA now.
