    the case here what you doing is manual restore with same DB name .In case want to use a different SID or DB name can do the same by RMAN active duplicate or RMAN duplicate option .

    Dear please, could you please help me with the scenario where my database server's operating system has failed and I need to reinstall it. Also the database was in no archive log mode and has no backup. But, the previous database files are still there in the ora home directory. Can I restore the database after reinstalling oracle and using .dbf files, control files, redo log files, pfile, spfile and other files of the previous database?

    • @ocptechnology
      @ocptechnology  Před 4 lety +1

      Thank you so much for your reply. At last, I am now able to restore a database with such scenario. Only things I'm facing this time are some error message like- ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL level 1, ORA-06553: PLS-801: internal error [56327], ORA-06553: PLS-801: internal error [56327]. Though all previous data was restored. Do you have any idea on this?

    When you copy spfile and password file to other server then you give sqlplus /as sysdba
    That database base should be start with his own spfile
    Why database take your copy spfile file

    • @ocptechnology
      @ocptechnology  Před 4 lety

      If you don't want to copy spfile from production server then you need to restore spfile from RMAN backup and in case of password file you can create it manually or copy it doesn't matter.

      Action: If the error occurred because of a slow network or system, reconfigure one or all of the parameters SQLNET.INBOUND_CONNECT_TIMEOUT, SQLNET.SEND_TIMEOUT, SQLNET.RECV_TIMEOUT in sqlnet.ora to larger values. If a malicious client is suspected, use the address in sqlnet.log to identify the source and restrict access. Note that logged addresses may not be reliable as they can be forged (e.g. in TCP/IP).
