  • It’s week two of my journey reading War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy for the first time. We’re solidly in Volume 2 of War & Peace, a lot is happening, and our friends are not okay.
Just like last summer, I’m using the month of July to read a big classic (1,200+ pages) in just one month.
I’m reading it in weekly chonks of just 1 volume/week! There are 4 volumes total in this classic Russian novel.

I think you have the right to judge books by their covers.
    There. I said it.
Why? Because of the wonder and joy you feel when you pick up a book that catches your eye. There's something that speaks to you directly. You might decide to make it face out on your shelf, like a piece of art with a story inside.
Graphic designers like me are hired to inspire those feels!
On my channel I talk about books are shelf-worthy, inside and out, and the ones that are worth giving a second look.

Great summary. Seems like you're enjoying it so far. I'm almost halfway through Kristin Lavransdatter! Still on track to finish by the end of August.

Wow! I feel like getting to the very middle is key, it’s all downhill from there! Although big books seem harder to hold for the last half 😂
