Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos is a high fantasy real-time strategy video game released by Blizzard Entertainment in July 2002. It is the second sequel to Warcraft: Orcs & Humans, and it is the third game set in the Warcraft fictional Universe. - Hry
war that could potentially decide the fate of the world and Jaina conveniently decides to not upgrade her Scout Towers.
perfect piece of criticism :)
@@xLetalis lol worst that they get easily get pushed in 20 minutes
Yeah, and no goblin mines. I played this mission (on hard) several times in the last couple decades, and every single time, Jaina rarely lasted over the 15 minutes mark. With Thrall instead, I'd turn his whole garden (the area outside the orcish base) in a huge mine camp, so many mines that the orcs often survived all the way up to 45 minutes.
@@gypruzzcaccamo6586couple decades?! 😭
@@nivrrtakr2891 The game is from 2002. So, yes. More than 20 years ago.
Archimonde was actually scary back then
The demon lord, whose power and intelligence were only rivaled by Kil'jaeden and lesser only to his master, Sargeras. He only surpassed them in his ego.
Fun fact: Archimonde wanted to consume the power of both World Tree and Well of Eternity to become a god to rival his master in power and eventually to overthrow him and control Legion and then all Creation.
“Our spirit is stronger than you know demon! If we are to fall then so be it at least now we are free!”
That is the most powerful line I’ve heard In the entire game
In-freaking-deed! I get goosebumps every time.
What I love most about this mission is the tense last minutes you have trying to delay Archimonde, perfectly executed mission.
same here ;]
"If pride gives us pause, my love, then perhaps we have lived long enough already"
I may not like Furion, but he is really wise.
Why don't you like Furion? (Best in mind I don't play WOW)
Furion is a good pal...Super strong but humble❤❤
@@TheDrumminMan08 imo his treatment of illidan is the only thing I dislike about him though I dont have any problems with his values and actions
@@randomf2pplayah768All Night Elves were jerks in that regard. The immortality they had for 10000 years was Illidan's doing. He was released by Tyrande only because he could be useful without remorse or apologies as Illidan noted and in the book she even had a nerve to ask him if he hates his kind so much after his prison with his answer being an absolute yes (who could blame him?), but still no more than demons. If not for him loving Tyrande like his brother, she would become a mush on the floor. Illidan even asked himself what kind of brother leaves his twin to rot in darkness for this long with even a justification after 10000 years, while Furion enjoyed his immortality, power over nature, druid sleep and time with Tyrande.
The difference between wow and warcraft voice acting is that WoW became more of a dramatic yelling war, while warcraft is more subtle and more elegant. All I hear is angry muscle headed demons in legion and Varimathras sounds so horrible. Don’t get me started on tyrande and furion. They sound wiser in wc3
Worst was Sylvanas. She became a brat in WOW, and that's not just the voice acting. She's supposed to be this cold, calculating and scheming banshee queen that outsmarted three dreadlords. Now she's a brat who throws a tantrum when she doesn't gets what she wants. Her voice acting only reinforces that stereotype.
reychop_EXE right? Her voice was somewhat emotionless. The way she’d do thing to get things done is quite cunning. Just like when she retook Lordaeron. In wow her schemes are so dumbed down. For example, in wow which bothered me a lot was when she wanted to control the val’kyr. Why didn’t she order any of her banshees to possess any those Vry’kul so that her forces secure the area while she tries to take over Eyir? Her plot and personality isn’t heartless anymore.
@@reychop are you happy with sylvanas now? she is again scheming, plotting and twisting everything around her :P tricking enemy into traps, forcing her way to become warchief and convinces people around her to stay loyal by saying "this is best for the horde" and lately(SPOILERS) she is now using derek proudmoore to assassinate other members of his family by brainwashing him after ressurection
ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINTED? :D
EVERYTHING in regards of storytelling, lore and voice acting is better in Warcraft III...
That is why I dearly hope that Warcraft IV one day would happen and that it would continue the story where Warcraft III: TFT ended one way or another....
Needless to say that when it comes to Warcraft III: Reforged, I will chose the original voice-acting instead of the re-recorded ones.
I am so happy there are people who think and feel exactly as I do!
5:53 "Has sleep dulled my senses?"
As he gets put to sleep, found it funny
Now sleep really dulled his senses
good catch
Funny
Furion's model was originally that of a cut hero who had sleep as one of his spells
I hated this mission, because having to supply the humans with reinforcements was hell. Also, they had so much gold and lumber, but had low upkeep.
It's insane to think some people could actually kill Archimonde by tower rush him within 30 minutes. I could barely hold him at night elf base.
Archimonde can be killed with landmine
Can’t he also be killed by the mercenaries that you can hire on the map because the mercs deal Chaos Damage, which Archimonde is vulnerable to?
@@jackdaone6469 correct
can't believe it has been a year since I watched that...I think a Russian did it...
None of the mercs on the map in my version did chaos damage. Maybe that got changed in later versions of the game.
Shandris needs to become a proper hero by Reforged.
Nice idea....wonder if she perhaps would have more dialogue as well
Naisha also
@@Balnazzardi In the coopable story someone made in warcraft 3 they were the hero the 2. player controls so if blizzard would just do it like this officially it would been great fun.
Lmao
The first time i played this mission, she got possessed by a banshee and i was forced to kill her.
"Stormrage! Show yourself! Or do you intend to have mortal girls do all your fighting for you?"
That line never fails to make me laugh. Jaina was a crucial piece in saving human and other alliance factions, so having girls like her doing the fighting is by no means anything negative. Also, the legion recognized Lordaeron as a threat, so they attack it first. Archimond is not stupid, he knew both Lordaeron ans Jaina were a considerable threat, but still couldn't resist taunting Stormrage with a classic line you would hear from a five years old boy 😂😂😂
08:33 - Damn, talk about oneshotting a base! Archimonde is completely overpowered!
He only appears when you hold your ground for way too long.
It funny when you kill archimonde, nothing happens but same camera moving and he talking but he not there
Loved this mission! Fitting for a final one
+xLetalis it looks like it's quite a handful to do
It is VERY difficult to do on Hard, even on Easy it's definately not easy...
I use resource cheat on hard,
just can't do it, too hard,
kick ass battle,
This is the one mission I cannot complete on Hard. 2:30 minutes left as far as I've come with multiple attempts.
How you guys doing it? :P
best strategy I've done was actually right at the beginning with tyrande. if u got enough patient u can even kill archimond ^^
Archimonde looks tougher in wc3 than wow
he does
And bigger
He is tougher.
Man'ari in WC3: destroys Dalaran by making a virtual sandbox
Man'ari in Legion: can't even deal decent damage to Dalaran with those fel spaceships
The demon lord, whose power and intelligence were only rivaled by Kil'jaeden and lesser only to his master, Sargeras.
Fun fact: Archimonde wanted to consume the power of World Tree to become the god to rival his master in power and eventually to overthrow him.
This mission was really well written in the original books, and is IMO one of the highlights of the books. You can feel the intensity of the war as you read along. It turned into such a matter of life and death that even the forest creatures (who normally just mind their own business) joined the Night Elves and offered assistance after the Human and Orc encampments were overrun. Tyrande, who was originally not welcoming of the outlanders put her ego aside and controlled the frontlines for as long as she could while Furion prepared the Tree's defense. The Humans and Orcs also gave it their all. Life won at the end
true
Where u can read all the book? Can you give me the link
@@KenkenL no idea
@@KenkenL I have the books in hardcover which I bought before TFT expansion came out. I don't think they're available online. Parts of the lore are scattered around the web though.
I would love a movie about this. Not some crap about Kadghar's and Medivh's stories.
7:23 plants vs zombies
Ya
Need an entire race to gave up their immortality to kill archimonde..... what it takes to kill a player who's soloing him??
It's funny how entire azeroth lost to archimonde in warcraft 3 and in legion people soloing him like he's nothing
Well, all of Azeroth did not exactly loose to Archimonde after all, did it?
Without malfurion plan using the wisps they have no chance to defeat him, they were surrounded and they're last hope was to lure Archimonde to the world tree, now wow doesn't care about the lore all they care about is pvp and transmog in legion you can one shot any boss which destroyed the real experience we had in the past in vanilla and wrath...
I have a theory/idea/explanation about that, that fits to all warcraft stuff. The point is that every one need a channel/charge/cast (etc) time to get his/her full potential, and if they dont have it they can be killed. So in this case Archimonde requires a special portal to come azeroth because he charged himself and a normal portal could crash because it can't handle a charged Archimonde, so Kel'thuzad have to open a more stabilized one, that can handle it. So in wc3 Archimonde came with full charge, but in wow he didn't, for the reason why not I can't answer, but probably it takes time, and because it didn't worked in a last time he changed the strategy. That was the idea for explaining it. On the other hand, in vanilla the heroes where usually mages/warriors etc, at the beganing but they grow in power, so many battles later, they could become equal to the bosses, they fought with so thatswhy they can defetead him as commando units. Also boss fight is just a game mechanic, so the lore battle could be totaly different, like armies of azeroth siege down hellfire citadell, and win.
@Shendu LordOfDragons Illidan was crawling away in fear when Kil'Jaedan was looking for him in w3. Now he's all powerfull and leading 20 something noname champion to defeat the legion overlords. This is not to you but everybody in this thread. Stop trying justify Blizzards lazy, shitty writing with theories. There were no need for theories if there were a competent team behind the lore.
In legion we wielded the most powerful artifacts in the wow universe and still almost lost.
This is a great mission to experience playing yourself. Love Jaina's sass there.
Archimonde really was a horrible strategist. He didn't even consider the loss of Tichondrius and Mannoroth and didn't even think he's breaking through too easy.
There is a misjudge by the makers. Not only can you survive this but you can kill Archimonde. With inv pots and goblin minies you can kills workers and main base. Then all buildings. The Jaina fight back and left is only Archimonde hehe.
+San dro heh I haven't tried but I can believe it
I usually just destroy the undead base and go AFK. Come back later to the cinematics XD
There are videos about that, but it seems hell of a challenge :D
@@christhjian9923 Tried it myself, wasn't too hard. I am by no means a pro but using invul pots and spamming mines, tp out, repeat. Not the hardest.

Just...
*WOW*
Сергей Орлов Jaina was badass since WC 3!
I really wish the map would be bigger and the human and orc Ai is insane
That would be great
I still wonder about Rage Winterchill aiding the Legion in the attack on Mount Hyjal, seeing that he's a Lich. Perhaps Ner'zhul sent him so that he can pretend to still be in their side?
Cristian Martinez some undeads were truly loyal to the legion after all and not to the lich king
"Very well, Tichondrius. Since the Lich King is of no further use to me, you dreadlords will now command the Scourge." There you go I guess...
Some liches joined the Dreadlord loyalists and the Legion
Well, In the novel “Arthas - Rise of the Lich King” and also in wc3 end of undead campaign, it is clearly stated that the LK lost a big chunk of the Scourge to the Legion’s command. Since Kil’Jaden was the one who actually “created” the Scourge and the Lich King, they were able to control the undead just as the LK do.
also Rage Winterchill could also be one of the Shadow Council who was truly loyal to Gul'dan and the Legion and only joined Ner'zhul to survive
Furion's greatest line:HOW DARE YOU?!
my most favorite Warcraft 3 mission
Furion is the Father I never had.
I wonder what Thrall's strategy was here. Humans and night elves getting wrecked, maybe we should help them...? Nah, just sit in our base and wait for the Legion to grind through them, we'll fight them when they reach us.
I was always disappointed that the Alliance and Horde had separate bases instead of being a unified coalition like they were in the first Night Elf mission. I think a Night Elf/Horde/Alliance base would have made the most story sense (though we’d lose out on Jaina and Thrall’s last words to Archimonde if the game devs did that).
If only Aspects could have re-blessed the World Tree....
Malfurion: "How dare you!"
Mrs Weasley: "How dare you steal that car!"
So *this* is the mission the raid was based off of. *Nice.*
What raid tho?
Battle for Mount Hyjal, from TBC.
Shandris Feathermoon! I really liked her character in WCIII....
Why? There was nonthing special about her.
There's also nothing special about any character in WoW anymore
Now with "Crossroads" cinematic is out, I hope to see more WCIII veterans come back to appreciate how Blizz is trying to (not ideally written still) bring back old school WC vibes. Jaina & Thrall were my favourite duo, so was badass Tyrande. Now that Jaina-Thrall is back, Shandris is getting more attention, all we need is badass Tyrande leading Night Elves back to their roots. I know that Tyrande's absence in 8.2 pisses off many, but I hope her disappearance is worth her spotlight in 9.0
I think I would've liked it better if it was with Rexxar instead of Saurfang
@@xLetalis Well, given the situation, Saurfang had to be there to complete the Saurfang-Anduin circle. However, Rexxar and Jaina coming to terms would need to take a longer time given that Rexxar's hand has her father's blood. Since Jaina's return to Kul Tiras was driven by her remorse for not siding with her father at Theramore, and it took Baine's genuine sacrifice for Derek and Thrall's reminder of their past allegiance in Kalimdor to soothe her distrust, I think it's too soon for a Rexxar-Jaina reunion as for now, not unless Rexxar had done something to gain her forgiveness and justify the necessity of his actions in Theramore. However, I doubt it's easy for Jaina to just shrug off the fact that the Horde's safety at Kalimdor came at the price of her father's death and her kingdom's fall. Having said that, I do look forward to Blizzard revisiting old hatred and alliances. Now that we have old school Thrall, emotionally stable Jaina, and badass ruthless Tyrande back on track, I don't mind another battle brought to Mount Hyjal where they will stand united for a common cause once again. XD
Blizzard HAS to bring the OGs from WC3 together again. Unfortunately it will probably not be in BfA, since Tyrande already had her part of the story and wont appear again(like 5 minutes btw ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)
Well yes and no....while I can agree its good that they try to bring good old WC3 vibes to WoW, to me its quite clear that I will likely never play WoW again, so what use it is to me? I simply dont have time nor will to invest in any MMO.
So no, I wont really be happy until we would get Warcraft IV that continues the storyline from WCIII: TFT one way or another.....I know its VERY unlikely, but that has been my dream for all these years
Damn you Archimonde! You never dropped Tempest of Chaos for my destruction warlock in BC
i really still dont understand why tyrande didnt just shoot jaina and thrall as they were walking to them, that women likes to shoot everything that doesnt have ears that are pointy enough
Darion Well, she hates High Elves, Blood Elves and still has distrust for Nightbornes, even Sylvanas and her undead elves
Ryan Chan purist lol
@@Ryan-sn3uo if she would really hate blood elves than she wouldn't have helped Kael back in Frozen Throne
Of course she was racist before meeting humans and orcs (cuz they were lumbering their forest) but who's perfect eh?
@@Ryan-sn3uo thats Maiev. Tyrande is now friends with Vereesa Windrunner
@@CIAinTaiwanAndUkraine I think it all boils down to how Blizzard wants to shape the Alliance politics, and use Tyrande's ever changing personality as a plot device. Let's just say Tyrande has a temper problem occasionally. Even tho she's 10k years old, she problem hasn't dealt with that much politics for the longest time, making her really bad at it.

Archimonde health 3475
Loch king health 3000
What about armor, hp and damage?
So what is your point ?
Archimonde among 2-3 more characters had divine armor. Divine armor reduced like almost all damage a character received, unless the atacker had a special type of damage called chaos dmg. illidan in metamorphosis, demons, corrupted orcs and arthas as a lich king had this type of atack. Health didn t rly matter if 99% of the dmg received is absorbed by the armor.

Oh well, The Dreadlords control Ner’Zhul at this point so it’s just a daydream. 😅
