    retinal projection displays have been around for years in the military. just like nasa and th airforce have had the technology for 5k lcd monitors for nearly a decade. this shouldn't be so expensive.

      Really, are you sure? Do you know when the consumer version will come out?
      Also, they're currently working on the second iteration in order to offer these features. I am friends with someone on the Hololens team.

      They are reportedly working on the next version of the Hololens to be introduced in 2019. In the meantime, they are using Mixed Reality (included in the recent Creators Update of Windows 10) to allow for tethered and more cost effective (£300) headsets to try to replicate this experience on a base scale, this is to encourage further developer support for the consumer launch of Hololens.

    Well, in a few years we'll never see anyone's eyes anymore. The world just keeps getting more and more impersonal.

    • @VictorECaplon
      @VictorECaplon Před 6 lety +2

      Yeah well, we use to be naked nomads. Today we are glad and used to having homes, clothes and comfort. Things need to evolve, but we never know precisely where it goes... and everything is just based on perception so what we feel is impersonal today will be the personal of the future and vice-versa.

    Yet again an item about Hololens showing what appears to be a much bigger field of view than is actually created. It'll be great when the FOV is bigger but at the moment its pretty rubbish....
