I was having fun with barrage/Andy/hakan-amulet. No problem spamming horde tier 7 with it, the clearing was supernicem 12,5 sec CD, and with preparation, I had rain of arrows up all the time haha. A little less DPS on bosses though, but it was good fun!:)
Was gunning for Andariel’s Rogue but just not getting the drop. Switched to Skyhunter as I began the respec and slowly getting there with pieces of gear and holy hell the power jump of this build is crazy fun.
I'm running the Maxroll Cold Imbue Barrage rogue and I think I might switch over to this. Struggling to complete Level 6 Infernal Horde with current gearing.
Thanks for the build revision. Before I invest in the time/resources to switch to this version, can you advise on the difference in infernal hordes T level between this, and cold barrage, with similar levels of gear?
Not sure what I’m doing wrong. Was on your cold imbued barrage build with no mythics and could do pit 81+ and IH 6 fairly easily. Switched to this and I can’t even hurt a pit 71 boss. Taking double the time to clear a pit too.
This build is probably more items dependent. Im sticking to cold imbued rn, I play on Xbox and for now it feels pretty clunky so im doing T5 and PIT 61 max, my items are far from good
I also noticed this - after the switch from the cold barrage this feels much slower and more clunky - especially in Infernal Hordes. Have no mythics yet so don't know if thats the main reason, but it feels like I've made a mistake by switching
@DiEoxidE in the video you say "max out barrage", which makes sense as it is the main dmg spell. However you only spent 2 skillpoints on it. Is that a mistake? I was so confused when I saw you being able to put additional skillpoints into "Shadow Step", "Innervation" and "Second Wind". So what should we do best? Go for the plain shadow step like in the guide on maxroll or have less points innervation and 2nd wind?
@@christianwilliams9999 you need innervation on you gear, there should be no rotation just spamming barrage, if you are missing energy then your gear isn't right. As long as you are hitting things there should be no problems with energy
I’m trying this build and I’m having a serious resource issue and can’t figure out what I need. Also, I just reached level 100 and I haven’t seen the aspect you have on your pants.
The key here, as folks have said elsewhere is innervation ranks. You can get to the point where you get a 100% lucky hit chance to get energy. The cowl is a big assist too. I was having issues for a while and was super reliant on the umbrous aspect but as you gain paragon and get better gear that problem will self correct.
His build differs from Max roll. I’m having issues with the boss fights, I can clear the trash. But single target is killing me. I don’t have the tyreals might or the ring off starless skies which I think is why. But I might try this build in the video. Hope my energy stays up but love the ultimate casting 4 times
good video, i got a question though, how important ist the chance to cast twice i got a pretty shit bow but with good chance to cast twice and a good one with a greater affix in crit dmg but a min roll on the chance to cast twice which one should i use
The previous build is awesome. The gameplay is frenetic and beautiful (those cold attacks )... But at the same time, it's too situational. Managing all buffs requires a lot of focus (at least for me): basic skill spam + dash (Tricks of the Trade buff) + potion + imbuement + grenade + caltrops for maximum barrage damage for 8~s. It seems ok, but too much. Tricks of the Trade buff just for dash didn't seem viable to me... Plus, without the Unstoppable skill. This one with another cutthroat skill and Unstoppable is better. Unfortunately without cold attacks :/ Using the Rain of Arrow skill for buffs reminds me of an old D3 Demon Hunter build with the Rain of Vengeance skill. PS: sorry for the strange english... Google translate.
i just switched to this build and im doing nowhere near this damage i dont know what im doing wrong? my crits were hitting about 2.5mil on torm duriel and my attack power was abut 400k, my crit damage is 1700% also, it seems my rapid fire was doing more? :(

@@DiEoxidE man I hit +8 heart seeker on my pants but couldn’t roll second wind. I’m crying right now. I left it on hp per dark shroud with 2 chance left but didn’t realize they nerfed it so hard, then went for second wind and got stuck with potion gives max resist.

Hi there. On the maxroll build site you specify that we should reach 1000%+ damage per shroud. Now, with the mythics we have 5 pieces that we can put the dmg per shroud on. With the max roll that would be 120 % damage per shroud per piece. Which equals a total of 600% dmg per shroud. So how is one supposed to get the remaining 400%+? Am i missing something?
@@DerRasenmaeher not true. i am looking at the build as i type this. It clearly states 1000% damage PER dark shroud. So it's either a typo (which i don't see how it would be possible) or the creator of the build gets the additional % in another way. Still waiting to hear from him though.
Great guide, and I'm seeing success at L95 after switching from cold imbue.. but what are you thoughts on exploiting the Rain of Arrows? I just got Cowl and Tyreal (omg) last night, but I've been running with Grasp of Shadow, and Word of Hakan and RoA is at about a 5-8 second cooldown and 100% chance to cast twice with the amulet. Even with 50% swap out of crit for Dark Shroud damage, I'm sitting at 1276% crit dmg and 745% ultimate dmg (with tier 3 diamonds). I'm still getting to 100 (and Lilith spanked me) but is the overall damage that much higher when fully built to focus on barrage? I was even thinking the RoA focus makes Barrage hot swappable with RF with a Scoundrels Kiss and RF focused pieces. I'm having fun with this, but was curious for your thoughts. Thanks!
@@shiftersnipe rain or arrows doesn't do any damage. It's just for utility. Unfortunately there's just no way to make any of our ultimates to do any damage at all.

Can someone pls clarify from where do we get permanent barrier as was said in the video? 7:18 I have all necessary gear (without uber uniques), all masterworked to 8 and bow and one sword to 12, all stats as per target stats from the guide, but i am still struggling with even T7 hordes. No issue with regular mobs, but killing bosses takes like forever and sometimes getting killed instantly from them or even from pit84 bosses. Feels like i am still missing something..
FFFFuuuuu!!! Following maxroll screwed me bigtime on this season - took the S Teir ranked barrage cold imbue to start the season - the build sucks - and now the guide COMPLETELY different on the site with this one. Only people able to switch mid season to this build are professional gamers.
Updating guides are a regular thing. Although if you truly did look at the maxroll guide, I put the cold barrage variant in one of the progression tabs. I even colored the tab and everything. You don't have to switch. If you want to keep playing the cold barrage, that's what that tab is there fore.
@@DiEoxidE I gotcha and appreciate what you guys do - even donate. I saw that the guide is still there - aggravation comes from the frustration of the cold barrage build really not close to an S tier. This update is a bit more than that - its a completely new build requiring all new gear. Looks fun tho and def different!
@patkelly7146 understood. We assumed the totem would work the way it did in PTR as there were no changes mentioned in the patch notes. Of course that didn't happen and well,....ya. i had to do something about it. It's inconvenient and sucks for both parties involved. Im just glad i could turn it into something that's worth people's time.
Been enjoying this build a lot so far but I'm still running into the issue of not always having enough energy and being a sitting duck until I can shoot again. Not sure how to solve that though. Am I missing something? My gear isn't incredible but it's not terrible either.
I am also really struggling with energy. I think the guide could use a bit more detail on how to make the process smoother, especially prior to acquring Uniques

I was running the cold Build with Name, Umbra, skyhunter and condemnation but I am Stuck at infernal hordes Tier 6. I am simply doing not enough damage and end up with too many enemies. Is it a skill issue?
Hi DiE O2 great stuff here ,,, naybe i'll re spec when i'll get Tyrael or the Skies ring would you choose daggers for speed or swords for crit? i am currently playing following your barrage Rogue build BUT with poison trap and clones as ult, and precision (not combo point) with Andariel's (2 rolls on all stats :) and Selig's hearth for infinite ressources with Skyhunter with GA on chances to cast twice 81% and 1 roll on AttSpeed and PainGorger's 1 roll on AttSpeed,, nice combo, working fine : just killed for the 4 Little Tormented Bosses and to start Hordes tier7 just need to improve my 2 swords to compete
@@nicolasgruat1842 I'd go with swords. Normally I'd say it doesn't matter, but because we have less Crit damage than usual with the damage per dark shroud temper, the swords are more valuable.
is there a build that works okay with just the uber chest and everything else but the uber ring and oh-yeah i don't have your necklace but i do have 5 frigid finesse on mine just untill i can get the ring? can you provide a decent build?
Super new here, im sure im just missing something obvious. I got the build setup but I am not seeing what pretty much looks like the artillery buff you get from the pylon.

@@Rockroller1986 honestly, it's just mostly spam barrage, lol. When things get tough, throw down caltrops, pop them with smoke grenade, and keep spamming barrage.
Is it really worth using RoA ? I've been using Shadow Clone with 100% uptime, and I think having a shadow attacking with me would probably do more damage.. Haven't tested or anything, just going on gut feelings on this one
Shadow clone does no damage at all. The ultimate of choice doesn't really matter that much here, however the knockdown effect of RoA does trigger retribution aspect, so there's synergy here.
@@DiEoxidE Thanks for the response. I actually asked someone in game and he said he only uses it to activate "No witness", cause there's no animation and you can cast while attacking and you don't lose dps uptime. I'll try RoA to see if it fits my playstyle tho, maybe I'll like it.

Hi. Anyone could help how does "Cowl Helm" synergized with this build and which is the most important stat. and could godslayer crown a better choice. Besides this, im not sure why my ultimate isnt doing much damage. is it better if i focus on critical damage gem on weapons more optimal?
I followed the guide exactly, have good rolls, I have tyraels might but not the right helmet. Damage is terrible on torment bosses. It’s taking 5+ minutes to down them. I don’t understand what I’m doing wrong. 31k health max armor and resist 25k unbuffed ap, most everything is 8/12 mw. Please help I don’t understand
@txbass5877 are you applying all of your buffs on bosses? (Smoke grenade, caltrops, tricks of the trade, fluidity etc). Also, are you shotgunning the bosses so that most of your arrows hit? If not, your damage will be awful on single target.
Yes I’m applying everything on cooldown, the only really difference between our gear is my neck is only malice and exploit, and I have godslayer crown. I have all the gear checks you list, attack speed, crit dmg, +5 dark shroud, I’m only +6 barrage tho. Idk I don’t get it lol. Btw thanks for the reply I didn’t expect you personally replying
@txbass5877 all good. But make sure you are really close to the boss, like literally on top of it always for all arrows to hit. That's the only thing i can see that would take you a long time if you weren't doing that.
At lvl 90 I am hating this build, have Skyhunter and all recommended aspects but am running out of energy all the time and can do nothing, still relying on Umbra. Never died so much. It may get better at 100 but I'm not waiting, much preferred the previous version. Wish I hadnt wasted my time respeccing.
Umbra is worthless of you are having healing problems switch to the one that restores energy after a certain amount of health, most of the healing and barrier in this build comes from Strike Chance and Lucky hit. Also make sure the tempers are correct.
I just hate builds like this that are so dependent on the gear. There's massive resource generation requirements on this one. Cast a few barrages, and you're dead in the water.
@Rcls01 or.... You could look at the written maxroll guide that's linked in the description that has progression steps for those without all the pieces of gear and remains playable as i mentioned in the video.
I respec to this and now I can't hit the resistance cap. I don't get how the build listed in the guide is hitting it. I have all the same stuff in terms of resistance.
@stopexploring ok. You're probably low on cold resistance is my assumption. Check your rings implicit, they're probably not both cold resistance. If that is the case, put on a pair of penitent grieves as that will give you a similar multiplier as well as cold resistance until you can snag a tyraels might.
@@Brando112 That still doesn't make sense. At the time in the video I said, Rain of Arrows is used, and IMMEDIATELY goes on a 17 second cooldown. Preparation only reduces the cooldown by 5 secs every time it triggers.

It's pretty important.
But you can masterwork the projectiles a few times, and with a good roll on projectiles on a sword, you should be good.

Bro, the 1000% are supposed to reach if you have 5 shrouds active. So only 200% is required, but more is always better :)

Ignore the 1st part. The useful part is the plus damage to stunned / frozen enemies.

@@Ksantius barrier comes from second wind passive in skill tree and skill ranks on gear.

We assumed the totem would work the way it did in PTR as there were no changes mentioned in the patch notes. Of course that didn't happen and well,....ya. i had to do something about it.
It's inconvenient and sucks for both parties involved. Im just glad i could turn it into something that's worth people's time.

Been enjoying this build a lot so far but I'm still running into the issue of not always having enough energy and being a sitting duck until I can shoot again. Not sure how to solve that though. Am I missing something? My gear isn't incredible but it's not terrible either.
I am also really struggling with energy. I think the guide could use a bit more detail on how to make the process smoother, especially prior to acquring Uniques

I was running the cold Build with Name, Umbra, skyhunter and condemnation but I am Stuck at infernal hordes Tier 6. I am simply doing not enough damage and end up with too many enemies. Is it a skill issue?

i am currently playing following your barrage Rogue build BUT with poison trap and clones as ult, and precision (not combo point)
with Andariel's (2 rolls on all stats :) and Selig's hearth for infinite ressources
with Skyhunter with GA on chances to cast twice 81% and 1 roll on AttSpeed
and PainGorger's 1 roll on AttSpeed,,
nice combo, working fine : just killed for the 4 Little Tormented Bosses and to start Hordes tier7

@@nicolasgruat1842 I'd go with swords. Normally I'd say it doesn't matter, but because we have less Crit damage than usual with the damage per dark shroud temper, the swords are more valuable.
is there a build that works okay with just the uber chest and everything else but the uber ring and oh-yeah i don't have your necklace but i do have 5 frigid finesse on mine just untill i can get the ring? can you provide a decent build?
and i salvaged uber doom sword and uber visage helmet to get those last 2 sparks i would of got the ring if i knew
Super new here, im sure im just missing something obvious. I got the build setup but I am not seeing what pretty much looks like the artillery buff you get from the pylon.

i was running the cold imbuement build and the other day noticed the build change so i changed my build and came across word of hakan it deff buffs the rain of arrows a bit more what do you think of that on your build?
@silentcrow2003 love the amulet, but not worth. You lose way too much damage.
Besides, all of your damage comes from barrage, not rain of arrows.

When things get tough, throw down caltrops, pop them with smoke grenade, and keep spamming barrage.

Why keep the frigid finesse if you removed the cold imbuement skill? Does it proc in rain of Arrows or just the caltrops.

Why barrage chance cast twice not work?
I have nearly 100% chance and NEVER, EVER see more than 5 arrows..why.
Is it really worth using RoA ? I've been using Shadow Clone with 100% uptime, and I think having a shadow attacking with me would probably do more damage.. Haven't tested or anything, just going on gut feelings on this one
Shadow clone does no damage at all.
The ultimate of choice doesn't really matter that much here, however the knockdown effect of RoA does trigger retribution aspect, so there's synergy here.
@@DiEoxidE Thanks for the response. I actually asked someone in game and he said he only uses it to activate "No witness", cause there's no animation and you can cast while attacking and you don't lose dps uptime. I'll try RoA to see if it fits my playstyle tho, maybe I'll like it.

With skyhunter your first shot is a guaranteed crit. So you want to load crit damage. You can still potion for crit chance.
How are you proccing the trap legendary node? I didnt notice any trap skills and you arent using umbacrux

With the Cold Imbuement version, do damage to dark shroud tempers have any benefit over crit damage tempers to balance damage between precision procs?
@@bubbsparsespovs4513 with cold, you should always have precision proc since you're using your basic attack 3 times before casting barrage.

@bubbsparsespovs4513 yes, but not by much. It mostly has to do with trick attacks passive double dipping with precision.
Hi. Anyone could help how does "Cowl Helm" synergized with this build and which is the most important stat. and could godslayer crown a better choice.

I followed the guide exactly, have good rolls, I have tyraels might but not the right helmet. Damage is terrible on torment bosses. It’s taking 5+ minutes to down them. I don’t understand what I’m doing wrong. 31k health max armor and resist 25k unbuffed ap, most everything is 8/12 mw. Please help I don’t understand
@txbass5877 are you applying all of your buffs on bosses? (Smoke grenade, caltrops, tricks of the trade, fluidity etc).
Also, are you shotgunning the bosses so that most of your arrows hit? If not, your damage will be awful on single target.
Yes I’m applying everything on cooldown, the only really difference between our gear is my neck is only malice and exploit, and I have godslayer crown. I have all the gear checks you list, attack speed, crit dmg, +5 dark shroud, I’m only +6 barrage tho. Idk I don’t get it lol. Btw thanks for the reply I didn’t expect you personally replying

But make sure you are really close to the boss, like literally on top of it always for all arrows to hit.
That's the only thing i can see that would take you a long time if you weren't doing that.
What's reducing the cooldown on your ult? I feel like I must be missing something because mine does not go down in combat.

Why Frostbitten on the boots though? Afaik we don't stun or freeze in this build and have no crit chance so I really don't get it.
@MrUnlad we take it for the 25% crit damage vs frozen or stun. We do both, dont need the first part of the aspect to get the bonus.

At lvl 90 I am hating this build, have Skyhunter and all recommended aspects but am running out of energy all the time and can do nothing, still relying on Umbra. Never died so much. It may get better at 100 but I'm not waiting, much preferred the previous version. Wish I hadnt wasted my time respeccing.
Umbra is worthless of you are having healing problems switch to the one that restores energy after a certain amount of health, most of the healing and barrier in this build comes from Strike Chance and Lucky hit. Also make sure the tempers are correct.
Did you roll innervation on your tempers
It is an endgame build.

If you don't have a starless skies, roll starlight aspect on a legendary ring.
Am I loosing my mind, I thought there was an aspect where your arrow storm would be would have all 3 imbuements when cast?
That is the unique amulet Word of Hakan that does that
@@phillipchampton i love that amulet - but the damage loss is too great not running a legendary one. Wish we had Kanai's cube in D4!
I just hate builds like this that are so dependent on the gear. There's massive resource generation requirements on this one. Cast a few barrages, and you're dead in the water.

Would you use Shako over Cowl?
I found the survivability from Shako way better than Cowl, but there's a noticeable decrease in dps.
I respec to this and now I can't hit the resistance cap. I don't get how the build listed in the guide is hitting it. I have all the same stuff in terms of resistance.

@stopexploring ok. You're probably low on cold resistance is my assumption. Check your rings implicit, they're probably not both cold resistance.
If that is the case, put on a pair of penitent grieves as that will give you a similar multiplier as well as cold resistance until you can snag a tyraels might.

Check your guides. Topaz does Basic Damage on Weapons not Ultimate Damage. Trying to run your Barrage build now but it is inaccurate.

At 15 seconds, how is he getting his cooldown on Rain of Arrows to 17 seconds? I don't see a shrine buff. Thank you.
Preparation reduces the cooldown of ultimate for every 100 energy spent
@@Brando112 That still doesn't make sense. At the time in the video I said, Rain of Arrows is used, and IMMEDIATELY goes on a 17 second cooldown. Preparation only reduces the cooldown by 5 secs every time it triggers.
