The fighting machines as portrayed in the artwork for Jeff Waynes musical version, are the best and most menacing depictions I've seen. The way Wells described them in his book didn;t bear much resemblance to how they were later portrayed either in the musical version or the Spielberg film, and I think today would probably look rather 'Heath Robinson' by modern sci-fi standards.

In 2023, no one still has got the sense of scale correct on the fighting machines. This is 'almost' perfect in my opinion.
Like to see them a tad taller and soulless but still, the best I've seen outside of my imagination.
