    I have that very same tugboat (uv) and I love it. I like it because Im not doing any tricks. Im just a cruiser. Hop a few curbs, some slides but thats it. Im 50yrs old in Ausgust (😆most cant tell) and I mostly ride a electric cruiser now (Wowgo 3X). I got this board because I have big feet 😜 so it more comfortable for me to ride when Im in the mood to kick-push. Yeah, Im getting old but Im not dead yet so I'll ride till I die.✌🏿

    I love the agility and the ease of turning in these guys. I've got a tugboat and it's so fun to ride. The major downside is the speed; I have trouble catching up with casual longboards on the street, but other than that it's pretty nice

    I would love to see a review of the Shape 9. It's a cool alternative that's between the Dingy and the Tugboat with a slightly wider base (8.5") than the Dinghy (8"). It uses the same truck and wheel setup as the Dinghy so it's easy to transfer out decks without issue.

    I have a few questions if you don't mind.
    Did the angled riser do much to change the ride characteristics compared to the Dinghy? If so, how?
    Can you explain why you chose the Tugboat over the Dugout to compare to the Dinghy? The Dugout uses Chubby, 130mm trucks (both perhaps more similar to the Dinghy), but a wider board and angled riser.

  • @Psykmoe
    @Psykmoe Před 3 lety +2

    Good review. I'd long been interested in a Tugboat but since Landyachtz boards all cost more in Europe due to import fees I didn't end up feeling like the deck shape was special enough to justify it. Landyachtz makes good stuff but I couldn't talk myself into thinking of the Tugboat as '200 Euro good' instead of exploring domestic alternatives. I ended up spending more than 200 on my cruiser board but most of it went to the local lads instead of being eaten up by the logistics costs of making decks in china, shipping them to be assembled in the US and then shipped to Europe, so I feel pretty okay with it.
    I do own a Dinghy Blunt Fender. The pressed wheel flares are probably divisive but I love them and they were just the extra feature that convinced me to get it, since it's uncommon on boards of that size.

    Good vids man, thanks, def getting some education here. I am thinking about Tugboat, but am curious what alternatives are there in this size/purpose? I am sick of hearing about dinghy, much smaller board. Curious about Tugboat vs Omakase, although that is bigger. What other boards like Tugboat are there? Asking for a middle aged fat dad wanting to get back into cruising ;)

    The bengal and gloopy are the two I’m choosing between but I have never gotten my own board I don’t understand what the difference in specs do. Since I’m a beginner what do u think I should get my height is 5’8 and I weigh 134 if that is a factor I should be consedering

    Landyachtz offers 2 different models with the UV Bengal. They have the (Setup 1 Polar Bear 155mm trucks and 60mm 78a EZ Hawgs -- Stable and slidy setup.) and the (Setup 2 Polar Bear 130mm trucks and 63mm 78a Fatty Hawgs -- Maneuverable and fast rolling setup.). If you swap out the 60mm EZ wheels for the 63mm FATTY, the wheels would pop out more to the sides. Is it bad to have the wider trucks paired with the larger wider wheels? With the Tugboat Wolf, it uses 155mm trucks with 63mm EZ Hawgs.

      They're both really solid boards and I'm sure you'll like either. But the Tugboat is wider and shorter compared to the Coyote. Also the Coyote has pretty aggressive wheel wells, so it really is just personal preference

      I went for the Tugboat and am very happy.
      When you said in the video that you would put 60mm Hawgs on it, did you mean the 63 Fatty hawgs or the same EZ Hawgs but in 63mm?
      Cheers

    So I saw that you said you want to try other reviews. Look up faceplant boardriders on etsy. They have a board called the mini stick which is 29.75" by 6.5" wide. It is very similar to a penny board but it is made out of maple. I wanted to see if you could compare to the penny. $139.00 plus $25 shipping. I recently bought their rocket fish board and I really enjoy it wanted you to review the mini stick rob and the gang have been making boards for years cool company thanks.
