------------
In this Broadcast Award-winning, BAFTA and Emmy Award-nominated entertainment show, Taskmaster tyrant Greg Davies (Man Down, Cuckoo), with the help of his loyal assistant Alex Horne (The Horne Section and the show’s creator), sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper-competitive comedians.
Comedians that have risked life, limb, and dignity in the hope of making the Taskmaster proud so far include: Frank Skinner (The Frank Skinner Show), Mel Giedroyc (The Great British Bake Off), Romesh Ranganathan (Asian Provocateur), Hugh Dennis (Outnumbered), Sally Phillips (Bridget Jones’ Diary), Rose Matafeo (Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner 2018), and Russell Howard (The Russell Howard Hour). Unaware of what awaits them in each wax-sealed envelope, only one competitor can become the victorious owner of His Royal Task-ness’ golden head and be crowned the next Taskmaster Champion.
In the TM podcast, Ed Gamble revealed that the lasso task was originally intended as a tiebreaker, but was included in the show as a main task because Baddiel’s attempt was so bizarrely terrible they had to show it.
it wasn't even that bad a strategy?! tying a weight to it was the first thought i had when i saw the task
and they knew he wasn’t good enough that he would ever be in a tie breaker!
@@holly._.1 🤣😂🤣🤣 Alex horne said he helps David Baddiel bcos he know it wnt affect the scores at the end
@@holly._.1 David did win the episode with the back drawings, and if he and Ed didn't get the point on the church one it's possible that he could have tied with Rose
@@fredhasopinions I think I get what he was trying to do - give the hoop some structural integrity. For some reason he assumed the rope would become a solid ring. 😅
I love how David can make a excellent documentary on Holocaust denial, and also try and guess the colour of an ice lolly by sniffing it. A wonderful man.
Scent is 80% of flavor. That is why if you chill whiskey it mutes a lot of the taste.
@@vagabondwastrel2361, yup, that's exactly what the OP was getting at.
@philip leworthy Possibly, possibly not.
@@vagabondwastrel2361 Yeah, and frozen stuff is legendarily smelly...
@@vagabondwastrel2361Scent derives from airborn particulates and gasses released by the thing being smelt. Frozen objects tend to hold onto these particulates and gasses and thus lose a lot of there scent. This is why chilled whiskey loses a lot of it's scent and taste...
"Welcome back to Taskmaster where 4 comedians take on ridiculous challenges. Also, David Baddiel is here."
“I feel pretty broken, but I don’t think I could fix myself..” is the realist shit ever said on this show.
-est is for utmost. -ist is for adherents to a concept. A new phenomenon are the self-professed 'race-realists', who are actually just racists.
2PSAs for 1
@@willywonka7812 I'm a month late but shut the fuck up anyway.
Weird way to advertise your racism, apropos of nothing
@@willywonka7812 What the fuck are you on about?
Where's the confusion?
Rather than champion of champions i think there should be loser of losers where all the 5 worst scoring contestants comeback
@@josephmichealholland5381 have one team of champs and one of losers
It would also be pretty fun to have the most chaotic members, even if for an episode
Jo brand, Joe Wilkinson, Mel gedreiych, sian Gibson and Tim key
It’s better TV if the players have an incentive to score highest instead of lowest. Although the “most chaotic” suggestion is also interesting.
How about making poll and let people choose
David Bodiel trying to smell colours for a couple minutes straight
Honestly, how is the back-drawing task not on this compilation? That was honestly the funniest shit of the entire series, and it was mostly because of David, and partly because of Ed's reactions to him xD
“So can I just check; Have I been put on a team with David Baddiel?”
Baddiel: When I was young, my mum used to call my Penis a Dodo.
Horne: Because it was extinct?
It's moments like this you realise just how sharp Alex actually is. 😂
Hes the one who actually created the show
Exactly, and he has his own Band
Name a second thing dodos are famous for?
I don't even think that's sharp at all, it doesn't even strictly make sense. It's the easiest joke to make in that situation and it's not even funny
@@stephen300o6 being flightless
David would be an immediate candidate for a Taskmaster "Lovable Losers" edition. Him, Nish Kumar, Paul Chowdhry, Alice Levine, and either Hugh Dennis or Phil Wang (whose overall performances were extremely similar to each other).
Surely not the Tugmeister!
1. You can't make that list and not have the original LL on it (Rosin).
2. I think Alex has said he worried this could turn into something mean spirited. I think a second chance special episode would be cool though. Maybe contestants over 5 seasons, each task being a call back to a failed task in their season for 1 person and a chance to redo it and a new one for the other 4. Most of the non puzzle tasks you wouldn't have much of an advantage knowing how other folks did them... Might even be harder if you're trying to not replicate.
joe wilkinson will no doubt be amongst the cast
I am fairly sure it was Asim chauldry and Lolly adefope that lost their respective series, not Hugh and Alice
@@flicnerdy4385 Lolly and Alice came last. Asim had more points than Alice in the end.
You should have included the part where Greg says how more and more it seemed like the show was becoming a study of David
You have to admire Alex's determination when he said "i'm ready" fully realizing that there are so many things, including some heavy and sharp stuff, in the premises that can be thrown at him next.
"That's going to collapse, that will collapse"
Alex seemed genuinely concerned with the part of the stage lol
jessica knappett fell off that catwalk in series 7 during a live task, so I get why Alex was so concerned. And that stage is a good meter and a bit off the ground, it wouldn't be fun to make it collapse and fall straight through!
Pretty sure the catwalk is temporary and they add it for live tasks that need it. So it probably isn't isn't super sturdy
Jo Brand and David Baddiel need to do a travel show together. One utterly incompetent, one utterly out of fucks to give. It'd be magical!
Just once I want to see David Bediel and John Oliver in the same room, until then I will continue to believe they’re just one person
Bediel has ethics. John Oliver does not.
@barnacle felcher just look at their stances on censorship.
Vagabond Wastrel Baddiel definitely doesn’t. Neither do.
@Barnacle Felcher Um, I'm sorry? Only censor the stuff he disagrees with? I have little knowledge of John Oliver, but that has to be one of the most chilling comments I've read if I'm honest.
@Barnacle Felcher I see what you meant now, in a broad sense everyone censors in one form or another. Not sure what hate speech is doing in the list, but admittedly that's beside the point. I was only referencing the bounds of free speech and expression.
Personally I think the title should've been "I'm just a man doing things"
How is this show getting me so invested in whether a rubber egg makes it over a line or not?
It’s just like any sport. It’s all made-up.
Watches Ed throw the egg with disastrous results thinks I'll go egg too.
They'd made their choice already, unfortunately
I saw him doing stand up last year and he’s genuinely an incredibly articulate, insightful and intelligent guy - fuck knows what happened here 😂
My favourite moment is when he has his first attempt at the barman studio task, and matter of factory says "I was the ONLY contestant not to get a round of applause."
David trying to help the rubber egg is such a emotional rollercoaster
Alex panicking saying "that's gonna collapse! That will collapse" was perfect XD
It's actually so inspired to have that one contestant that is just shit at doing anything.
David looks like if John Oliver forgot to try for a few months.
If these are David's best moments, then I really fear what his worst moments look like... I am not sure my confidence in humanity can take that blow.
Well, um... At least he's an example that you can be a brilliant person and still kinda rubbish at this show. And he takes it in good spirit.
I think best is used loosely here
Best here often means funniest, rather than most skillful.
The one highlights video that I've waited for more than any other.
When David asked 'In the world?' when told to draw the second longest snake just makes me lose it
What time is that in the video?
Slightly besides the theme of the video, but one of my favourite TM moments of all time is Alex saying "it's a crazy choice" just after Ed's egg toss. Perfect timing!
The last task required clay. Roll it into a snake/string, cut it into pieces and smash it back together.
I was thinking about a jigsaw puzzle.
@@petertaylor4980
Me too, at first, but finishing it in 7 minutes...that'd be so difficult. And I doubt they'd leave one lying around. But it is a good idea nontheless :P
@@Widdekuu91 also what counts as fixing? It's a puzzle, so it could be argued that unsolved is it's natural state, and putting it all together would be solving it, not fixing it.
@@A2Ztigers That's true haha.
My thought was chocolate. Grate the chocolate to break it into pieces, then melt it and pour it into a mold to fix it.
Apparently the Broadcast Award trophies are quite durable.
How can you have this compilation and not include his tray full of 'Q' items?? Hearing him say shit like Quaby and justify Qulock was one of the funniest things ive ever seen
"Quisps"
I don't think this man has been in the real world once before this show
My all time favourite comedian, I could watch him all day in anything and everything.
He was the worst contestant they've had, and by that I mean the best.
Katheryn Parkinson is competing strongly with him.
the funny part about the "lasso alex" task it was actually a tie breaker if needed since it is supposed to be simple, but then comes david baddiel
David badiel makes a very convincing blind man
If there were taskmaster groups instead of improv I would join in a second.
Ah, David's a clever bloke...oh!
I was waiting for a David Baddiel compilation. Thanks!
I think I saw him in Sainsbury's in Huddersfield once but I didn't quite recognise him at the time. Might not have been him
Probably John Oliver.
@@squeakyelbows I definitely would have recognised John Oliver
I'm glad you shared the experience of possibly meeting an unknown stranger with us.
Was he on fire? That might've been him then.
Him and Jo Brand are a perfect match
I would pay so much money to have at least a one-off special with David Baddiel, Nish Kumar, Roisin Conaty, Lolly Adefope, Joe Wilkinson, Phil Wang , Paul Chaudhry, Alice Levine and Paul Sinha competing to be the loser of losers. (I haven't seen series 10 yet so no spoilers please!)
Adam Sandler won series 10
Watched the video expecting to be outraged at the exclusion of the live task where he drew his own face on a visor, but I couldn't be mad since all the clips here were genuinely iconic. Season 9 was great
I want to see competition between David Baddiel and Katrine Parkinson 😂🤣🤣
5:39 back before visors were cool
twice in this video he messed up even reading the task, what a legend
How has he not died getting out of bed yet?
David Baddiel is wearing Air Force 1s the mans got style
I friggin love this show, please make more episodes available!!🙏🙏
“Best” is a relative term here 😂
I still have no idea what the spoons were supposed to do in the lasso task
can you make more videos available in Australia please
What about breaking something then completely fixing it to a wall? (Fixing as in fasten)
That egg thing just made me fucking cry-laugh xD
We need a series with David Baddiel, Hugh Dennis, Phil Wang, Nish Kumar and Paul Chowdry
Rob Newman and Frank Skinner share a knowing look...
6:50 Yes famously cowboys are known to attach wooden spoon to their lasso.
Rose is extraordinary
You’re telling me this guy isn’t John Oliver?
These videos are addictive! 😂💪🏻🏴
It's a good job David's cross-country teachers aren't judging this.
Did he really go to Cambridge???!
When lassoing Alex, they could have moved the carpet like Julia Roberts moved the tablecloth in MIRROR MIRROR
literally everyone apart from David ended up doing that
I love you David Baddiel
Prior to this season I thought I was going to hate his participation, but nahh... even Baddiel was fucking great.
Was hoping to see the Greg Davies drawing round
Didn't include the spy task? The one regular task I actually recall him winning on?
Anyone else keep having problems playing some taskmaster best of videos? They play fine and then the next day say not available in this country
Can we get the official release for HD version of series 8-9?
Loving all the series.
David’s response to every task is utter confusion. I find this ironic as it’s the same reaction I have while trying to read one of his books aloud to my children.
Well I guess it's no surprise that football hasn't come home yet 😬😂
What happened to the Taskmaster portraits in the styles of various famous artists?
My first impression of him was Mark Watson aged 30 years lmao
and they didn't even include *that* final task
Wait... Which one? Drawing a blank.
and no raw aubergines
@@jenelaina5665
Not 100%, but I think they're referring to the one where Ed and David drew on each other's backs, and David just did not go with Ed's competitiveness.
Does anyone think the guy looks like an older John Oliver?
It should be David Baddiels worst moments
What did the guy in the audience yell at 04:27 ?
Go on, Ed!
Rich Goodger thanks :)
why is this season not uploaded to the channel?????
It will be, They're only up to season 7. With some patience.
Why are there people from earlier seasons on season 8?
They were stand-ins for one of the contestants.
Katy Wix was too ill to appear in two episodes, so they substituted former champions Katherine Ryan and Kerry Godliman to ensure they could discuss the prizes and do the live tasks on her behalf. (Also, it's 9.)
he kinda looks like john oliver
Equal parts funny and sad.
Is this guy ok
Also the girl she’s not far off, just a bit more poised
Katy Wix was very emo on this show.

hello mr taskmaster
The title is an oxymoron.
" It wasent smashing", mabye because you could never hit it you muppet , lol.
If these are the best, I'd hate to see his worst.
Love David, probably because he was a bit of a div😄
It makes me mad watching how incapable he is
He’s my al time sexual fantasy!
Worst contestant yet.
So good.
He's even the worst at being worst there's someone else with an even worse track record
I mean, really, it's astonishing how utterly incompetent he is!
The fact that David Baddiel can't do anything well should not be a great surprise since he has not been doing comedy well for the last 30 years.
Jesus Christ David was absolutely mad, I mean David's thing ( that cannot be sead on the internet) is a dodo, wow just wow
Penis? Penis.
You can say absolutely say penis on the internet. You could type out Monty Python's entire Penis Song in the comment section and nobody would care
(Aside from Joe W) David was the worst contestant on the show
There have been at least three Joes on Taskmaster...
Shaun I think you know which Joe I mean
@@vinnyreed723 I do now you edited your post but Joe Thomas was pretty useless as well
@@shaun2463 Goes to show that people should stop naming their kids Joe
The censoring is back 😔😷 these are much less enjoyable when there's a "ting" very few seconds, takes away from the humour of the moment.
They don’t want to get demonitozed
Was David Baddiel funny? Not just on this show, but ever? Asking for a friend.
David ruined this series. I’m not sorry.
Please stop making these crap montage clips. Why do all these Moments episodes have titles that express they’re focusing on one comedian yet have all the other comedians in there with no resolution for why they are part of the video. There’s no benefit to having their little clips other than confusing the viewer, and destroying cohesiveness. I mean, I guess it’s an insanely British way to edit TV shows. Maybe it’s just continuing a very proud British tradition like really bad intro graphics, horrible set design, and segment music being way too loud. Good show old chap, jest keep making these cumbersome un-fluid clip montages.
