- D.E.E.M.I. is a search and rescue organization from Maine specializing in aerial and ground search missions for people in the community who have gone missing. One vital component to D.E.E.M.I.'s success is the practice of high-resolution imaging during a search, enabled by their fleet of Inspires. Recently, those Inspires have begun to take an even more important role in D.E.E.M.I.'s life-saving efforts- one that places them directly in the face of danger.

Amazing Job. I am also a volunteer with our local fire dept. and am currently scheduling training exercises involving SAR with our Inspire 1 and Phantom 2 with FLIR platforms. We have definitely reached a new era with UASs capabilities. Living in a rural area, we sometimes have wait times of 45 minutes to an hour on fixed and rotor wing vehicles to arrive on scene. It is comforting to know that now in as little as 5 minutes we can have our UASs airborne assisting with SAR missions. Thank You DJI for making this video and spreading the word on the benefits of UASs with SAR. To my fellow OES brothers and sisters. Keep up the good Fight.

I wish more news organizations would pick this up in the media and offer a positive story about UAV's. Im so sick of hearing so many negative things about UAV's when there is so much positive.

How much perfection in rescue and search
Great video by great people. Dick and Dr. Bob Bowie, working all over America to help search and rescue those in need. We in Maine are very lucky. Check out this video.
Love to see this is being done by people ! We just started a project like this in the norwegian red cross too, and from the field tests. We can reduce the time we are searching for people with so much! And the price for these operations compared to helicopters are way cheaper.

I think DJI Matrice 100 may be a good platform for the rescue applications, with 40 mins flying time and available infrared camera.
+youyi li from what i've gathered the matrice is a fully modular UAV so that would work out fantastically,
+youyi li We looked into the Matrice 100. It's outstanding platform but the retractable landing gear affords us a lot more than the Matrice can do. We have an aerial delivery system to carry life preservers and rescue lines that works perfectly from the retracts.
What's awesome is the Matrice 100 and the Inspire1 have so much in common that many of the things developed for the M100 can be adapted to the Inspire1
