Glad you loved it, can't wait for mine! Actually in Europe A220 is 2nd most powerful engine model of the new A-Class 1st is A250, then A220, then A200/A180/A160. And some diesels as well. And yes that's DCT gearbox.

It doesn't replace the CLA. CLA still there. The CLA will have more Power (CLA250)
David J the CLA 250 will have exactly the same engine as the A250. It does not replace the CLA, it is a completely new model, a sedan. CLA will be the coupe, and now everyone can choose between a coupe, sedan or hatch A Class ❤️

I just bought a used 2017 A200 Urban 2.2 AMG Edition with the DCT gearbox, I live in Denmark and you as a swede knows that we have the most expensive car taxes in the world (for normal european style) the price was 380.000 Swedish krona or 40.500 US dollar. I just love the relaxing feeling you get in a Mercedes with automatic gear ... simply amazing ;)
Value is in a pre-owned coming off lease, depreciation on a new Merc is massive for that sticker.

Dude; you could get a new AWD 3 series for the way that car is equipped, which gets the same mpg, but is WAY faster (5.3sec 0-60), is probably quieter, and probably handles better.
Mike with all due respect, go review a Mercedes s560. The number one selling large luxury sedan is the Mercedes S-Class since 1972 for over 40 years straight! Nothing rides like an S-Class nonetheless the opening budget a class. The Mercedes S-Class has advanced air suspension, can scan the roads for bumps in the road, and a plethora of other things that put it on par with riding qualities of a Rolls-Royce.
Also I hear tons of road noise coming in the cabin with an S Class you have literally zero road noise at 70 miles per hour for just one tiny example of how this does not ride like an S-Class not even close

It’s a fantastic car to see and I like the dashboard because the two big beautiful screens.
I got the A35 a few months ago, before that I have had a BMW 430d, A6 3 litre and merc C250. The A class A35 is my favourite so far, love it. Good for what it is with fuel, standard driving it gets mid 20s to mid 30s on 98 RON (which is what is on the filler cap) low 20s to low 30s on standard 95 RON. Makes some good noises when put your foot down in S+ 😁

I like all of the features. The A Class small sedan is really nice. It has so much to offer for a reasonable price. I like the interior more than the exterior. It definitely looks more expensive than it is. Overall, this is a very nice Benz.

Hi Mike! One thing i noticed, you mentioned the A klass replaces the CLA. At least here in Europe, the A klass exists as a hatch and the sedan you presented and there is the new CLA avalable as a 4 door coupe and a wagon/shooting break. Therefore, the A klass sedan does not replace the CLA, it is just a very close cousin, the CLA remaining the posh 4 door coupe and the A klass, the enty level Merc.

i'd almost suggest to compare the top trim new mazda 3 sedan to this also, on a pure bang for buck/cost based analysis, both cars are very impressive now and I think mazda has upped their game tremendously to the point where a comparison would be totaly legible, aswell as comparing a lower trim A class to a top trim mazda 3, and looking at pricing, servicing etc

The A220 is assembled in Aguascalientes Mexico. You can get the base model for under $34k new. This is for a base model front wheel drive. This is actually great since more people will able to afford a new Mercedes.

Sexy AF I want one the Ambien lighting is amazing. I had just seen a video about the c class nd the inside was just like a regular car. But this one is me as an entry level nd a first brand new car for me I love the new A220
Geez that is one great looking interior. The new models of Mercedes are completely smashing it compared to the 204 series and others. So much more refined and technical. No wonder cars get written off so easily though, if any part of the dash /steering /transmission gets damaged its a whole load of trouble for an auto electrician and insurer to repair. But problem free you are certainly getting a car that delivers a lot. Hefty price tag for a so called entry model though. I guess most will get these on pcp leases amd hand back rather than try to own outright.

I am very happy that you like this car! Mercedes did a great job with it, it’s just awesome! I’m sad I couldn’t afford it, but I was able to buy the W176 Facelift (the one in your video is the W177, the 4th generation of A Class), and I love it!
By the way, as far as I know, Mercedes does only have dual clutch automatic transmissions! My 2016 A Class (A200) has a so called 7G - DCT, exactly the same one that you had in your C63s AMG, but not setted up for the HP you had in your AMG, of course. And newer Mercedes models have the 9G - DCT.
7G = Seven Gang
DCT = Dual Clutch Transmission
So all automatic Mercedes models since I think 2015 have dual clutch transmissions (7G or 9G - DCT), including your AMG. 👌🏻 That’s why it shifts so damn fast 😂 Kick-down from 7 to 4 in less than a second even in Confort Mode ❤️ Mercedes is awesome!
6:20 the B pillar exposed door frames that are body color are the ugliest part of the car and screams econo box. They could’ve at least painted it black. The rest of the car looks really good. Kind of surprised that it doesn’t have MB Tex. Really curious about what the base model looks like.

I tell you what Mike you're doing a great job but I would love to see more car reviews cuz you really good explaining and demonstrating like the backseat how you adjust the seating to see how well you sit in the backseat and I like the demonstration that you do on the trunk space. Now somewhere in the near future let's see if you can review the Kia Stinger GT twin turbo. I would really like to see your thoughts reviewing that car. Over All awesome review in that Mercedes A-Class class looks astonishing.
Just picked up my new A-class yesterday (merry Christmas to me) don’t get me wrong it’s a nice car but I’m not as in love with it as you.... I think my biggest issue with it is it’s too small and cramped and the seats aren’t THAT comfortable. Even with the seat extension option, I feel the seat bottom is still too short. The ride isn’t as smooth as you think and it bugs me that the glass roof doesn’t meet the rear window like my C class does. The screw on gas cap is annoying too. My car looks exactly like the one in this video in and out. I feel the wooden panels cheapen the look and look and feel like plastic. All in all I’d give it a score of 4/10

How much did it cost
Correction: Mercedes DOES have Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT), better known as a manual that the computer shift for you.
I know because my 2014 CLA has it, albeit it is a little jerky because that was the first iteration.
Looks like today's DCT on the A Class is so smooth, you think it's a regular automatic.

GLA 450 please! Like to see your opinion on some of the Volvo lineup since you have some background experience on the brand. I see a lot of cheap but also pretty beat S60 Rs on craigslist out here in AZ, what's your thoughts on those as a project car?
I did a 10 year full cost of ownership comparison between the 2019 Canadian A250 and 2019 Canadian Golf R, and the A was simply overpriced and underpowered, but had a very strong interior.
Comparing the specs apples to apples (I.e. AWD, upgraded stereo, etc.) quickly pushed the A250 too high price wise, and the clincher for me was the VW’s manual transmission option.
You’re right that the MB interior seems nice now, and definitely is legitimately nice, but I wonder how it will “feel” in a few years... the VW interior is arguably timeless and extremely rich/luxurious as well.
I really crunched all the numbers (cost, options, service, insurance, fuel, etc.) drove both, and honestly:
-If you want the MB star, a cutting edge interior, and performance is further down on your list... the MB could be it for you
-If you want a serious world beater AWD, sub 5 second hot hatch with full daily drivability and full luxury interior and feel... with a manual transmission option... the VW is your car. The spend less, go faster with just as much style, choice was easy for me and the more I drive the Golf R the more I love it and know I made the right choice.
So if you want to putt around in a nice interior and talk to your car, get the MB... and if you want to rip around in a nice interior, shift your own gears, and engage with your car by driving rather than talking (and save some money) get the VW.
Both are nice cars and we should all buy what suits us. Nice vid as always Mike. ✌️

Maybe finding a better location, nicer or modern location will be more appealing for viewers. Reusing the same location for reviews, dates the video and make viewers bored as they feel like "they seen it before".

However times have moved on and now have a B200 CDi AMG and the best car I have ever owned, similar to the A class but hatchback design (2 Mountain Bikes in Rear) and higher build. Not available in the US - shame. 8 Speed Auto 143MPH and 76.3 (UK) MPG Beat that. Simply amazing*

Underwhelming power that lets the rest of the car down. Have seen it in person getting my AMG serviced. I thought it was the CLA when I was sitting in it. To think the CLA is even bigger than this thing means everything is getting bigger. Nevertheless the interior is clearly where the buyer for this car will be either won or lost. Anyone else kinda throw up a little in their mouth when he said 188HP ? MB that is absolutely embarrassing.

I understand where you coming from, but calling a 45k€ sedan "entry level" isn't exactly realistic. Also the A class is way more popular as a hatcback that the niche sedan version. Although i'd agree the hatch at least is probably the nicest looking premium car is the category. Until the new BMW 1 Series comes out in 2 months and the next get Audi A3 next year. What a time to be alive.
12:39 Mercedes does have a dual clutch transmission. The GT has a dual clutch, the CLA 250, GLA 250, A Class and B Class all have it.
1. it dont replace the CLA, new CLA C118 is already here.
2. with the MBUX you have 4 different options/ways you can control the infotainment, 1. Touchpad, 2. Steerin-wheel touchbuttons, 3. Touchscreen, 4. your voice (hey Mercedes)
3. Mercedes have DCT not only Automatik transmission.

It says best entry level car yet that interior and them options your saying about are not standard so it's hardly entry level. They're part of the executive premium or premium plus packages. That is an amg line model not the basic technik or sport one and they still make the cla, it's not replacing it. Good video but poor homework sorry

I got rid of Mercedes because I got the feeling the dealership in OKC wasn’t doing the maintenance when I would take it in. Wish I had the money to put in a camera but there is a video out there showing a Mercedes dealership not doing the mx and instead taking it out for a joyride.

Every car manufacturer has to offer features like this moving forward for 35-45k. The model 3 is coming for them all. And now that leases are available for the model 3, I think the entry level segment is on the verge of extinction.

Did test the new A class and glad you liked it, funny review. I was not that impressed so swapped out my 3 yr old C class for a 5 series BMW 530 instead. My concern with the new digital dash it looks like a last minute tablet stuck down.
i'm facing the same decision: to swap my C class for an A-class or go for BMW5 series. I simply cant decide btw the hatchback or the salon.

Love the new A line, unfortunately in Chile only sell the A35 AMG hot hatch, not the sedan, they even sell the brand new GT63s 4 door coupe, but not the A-Class sedan. Best regards
