He's been skating for 40+ years but been pro for less than 20????
So what?
He never pursued a skate career the way so many skaters actively pursue a career. He never made sponsor-me videos. He was seen skating spots not kooking it up long enough to become friends with the cliqueiest crew of pros on the most elite street brands. That speaks volumes to his personality, but his skating speaks for itself. Unfortunately, so many kids today don't speak the language; they think it's only written in tricks when it's primarily written in style. That's why there's always been a few super-talented skaters who never seen to get anywhere in skateboarding no matter how hard they try, mainly because the trying so hard in itself is not stylish. Style isn't just in the way you skate, it's in the way you conduct yourself in general; personality comes through in the style and it can't be faked convincingly.
