  • ✈️ Former cabin crew Danielle brought the skills she learned airside to our team of #heroesinheadsets when she joined as an emergency call handler in our busy Force Communications Room (FCR) in Welwyn Garden City at the start of the year.
She enjoys the variety she gets in the role and says loves her team and the social perks of the job, joking that she’s trying to encourage ex-work colleagues to join us!
As well as answering 101 and 999 calls, Danielle recently started work on webchat - an online way of getting in touch with us - and is joining our Special Constabulary in the New Year, training to be a volunteer police officer in her spare time.
We’re recruiting for more communications operators (call handlers) with applications short-listed on a weekly basis, so don’t wait until the deadline to apply!
Call handlers work flexibly, including weekends, and evenings/nights, to answer emergency and non-emergency calls and direct resources across the county. The starting salary is £29,331 inclusive of shift allowance, if you work full-time.
