If you do it on the center stand it will be too tight when you check it on the ground. Service manual states to do it on the side stand

Nice tutorial. To keep the axle tight against the blocks and the adjusters. I stick a small rag in-between the chain and sprocket, then rotate a little to put tension on the chain. Doing this will force the axel all the way up. Snug up the axle bolt, double check the chain slack, once good. Torque the axle nut, then tighten the adjusters.

If you set it on a stand and adjust it like that, the rear wheel hub bearing and chain will break. Do not copy.

lol you can do it both ways, if the shock is topped out it doesn’t matter if it’s on the side stand or not.
I can sit it on the side stand and because when I do and my shock it topped out, it’s the same

    Good video.
p.s. you are usually using your open end wrenches backwards.
Tighten with the compression side. Reverse to loosen.
I can email photos if you don't understand.

The Africa Twin is in very short supply in western Canada.
Nobody has one to look at.
They will take a deposit and say it will arrive in 3 or 4 months or maybe next April
I guess I will have to wait for the Vancouver Motorcycle Show in January to look / touch / and sit on it. :(
