Just caught up with this video. Don’t know how I missed it. Excellent running session and I loved the music. A real work of art. Thanks for sharing Lord Al. Roy.
Yes..I agree Allan..start simple and fan out. Start with one loop and keep adding, leave space for some sidings and you'll be surprised at the end result. Love the HST's. All the best.
Thumbs uo n° 67,beautiful class 43...it's my fav speed train great details as shown by you in the intro..lovely music for this beauty congratulations Allan,a beautiful acquisition all the best,Alberto 🚂🚂🚂🚂👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😊😊😊😊😊😊🍻🍻
I've never seen a HST consisting of Chocolate & Cream Pullman coaches in the middle, but it was interesting. You then switched to the Virgin Mk. 3 coaches like magic, very clever. Mr. Class 47 in Intercity Swallow livery had broken down, one day, on Allan's railway. The Small Prairie Tank Engine came to the rescue. "Are you sure you can manage 7 coaches unaided?" asked Allan, a doubtful look on his face. "Try me," the Small Prairie Tank Engine answered. "A Great Western Engine never gives up, or leaves the passengers behind." The diesel had been towed into the repair shop. The 2-6-2 tank engine hauled the 7 coaches along the line, as if there was no weight behind her at all. Rule no. 1: never underestimate the power of a Small Prairie Tank Engine. Allan had to admit he was very impressed. He vowed he would never be such a Doubting Thomas again. He was also doing a double take. Small Prairie Tank Engine was a much better performer in all due respects. All Allan's 66 diesels were refusing to take the strain of their freight trains. Evening Star took over one of them. Allan could see there wasn't enough room on his railway to accommodate diesels and steam engines together. He gave up most of the diesels, making sure one Class 47, the 108 DMU and the two HSTs were kept for always. Add the 08 shunter of course. The railway was looking better now that it wasn't cluttered with diesels and freight wagons any more. Allan wound up playing trains with four steamies: Mallard, Britannia, Bobby the Black 5 and Sally the Small Prairie Tank Engine. Enough to put a cheerful grin on the face of one of his subscribers in particular. I'm sure Allan knows who I'm talking about.
Great new purchases there Lord Allan. The Hornby HSTs are superb models and if you can pick them up for a ‘bargain’ price too so much the better. Good for you for applying Rule 1. Your railway so you’re perfectly entitled to run what you want. Model railways are a fun hobby and it’s great that you regularly share your fun and enjoyment of the hobby with all of us. Nothing better for lifting the spirits than watching one of your running sessions with the music turned up!
Thankyou Lord Al for inviting us into your Shed to see those Fantastic Class 43’s regardless of what you Run them with - Your Railway Your Rules - The Movie is Epic, & matched with the Soundtrack, had me “fillin up” 🥺 Thanks for Sharin & Great Job 👏🏻✨
That is good advice about letting it evolve. My career was from mechanical drawings to building systems, so folks like me can visualize what it will be like and run like, but most cannot. A layout is never done. I am thinking about building a shelf-style shunting layout next. Don't worry about what other people tell you about what you should and shouldn't do; it is your railway, and you can do whatever you want. Loved the running. Cheers, Rob PS liked the music
Love the track level running shots Lord Ali of your class 43's and yes I did turn up your back ground music (thanks). Many thanks for sharing, keep them coming take care kind regards Barry...
👍👍Wonderfully done Allan, enjoyed watching the train run! Excellent choice of background music very serene & calming. New locos are a lovely addition to the layout. Thanks 🚂🚂 (Dave from Wisconsin)
I am with you, regarding coaches. It's my layout, if I choose to run Pullman coaches with HST's, it's fun. I also run GWR King Henry VIII with LNER teaks, or Mallard with a rake of LMS reds. It's fun. Always impressed with your filming, Alan. Great to watch.
Nice update Allan, rule 1 it's your layout mate. Interesting combination all the same. Might give it a go myself. Hopefully see you at GETS. Best regards Graham 👍 😊
Hi ya Allan. Beautiful new loco. And wonderful running session. I, for one, always appreciate your efforts in regards synchronizing music to action. It’s an art form all unto itself. And you have learned a lot of the years. Thanks. See ya.
Hi Allan, great video, that HST set you bought is ok for the money, those who paid full asking price were sold short in my opinion, 21 pin with no working fans is a disappointment, it’s like buying an Railroad extra model, I’m not a fan of the livery to be fair, I hope they bring out a NMT network rail yellow livery version in 21 pin with working fans, I would definitely buy one if they did, thanks for sharing.
Hi Allan, A very nice addition to your fleet and nice to see them all running together. I think Pullmans are ok with whatever you want to run them with always look good and add a bit of class to any train. We all have our own way of getting a layout and I was like you a couple of loops (just a bit smaller than yours!!!!) and add it works but if its very complicated then using the track planning programs is better as you can see if it all fits and what you need. Gets is nigh not long now keep well young sir see you there. Cheers Robert.
Hi Alan. I have one of the old original hst's (hornby) Ring field motor dumped new cd conversion also Black kat lighting upgraed, x l ent now.. under £40 the lot. Good value for money. Regards John, Merthyr Tydfil.
Hi Al hope you had a good 👍🏻 journey to ☔️ milton keynes we have arrived at the premiere inn south hope to see you tomorrow Kev Beighton Parkway Sheffield
Hi Allan. I've always been a massive fan of the hst and not fussed about livery either. The models run so lovely and have tonnes of power too. 2 great looking locos there Allan and funny enough I like pullmans too so great combo in my opinion mate. Take care and speak soon. Oh, hopefully might get to meet you at GETS? I'm going Saturday. All the best, Lee
G'day, m'Lord! What a brilliant pair of locos you entertained us with today. Both were exceedingly sharp and a pleasure to see. I am a modernist, but I did love those old Pullman's with the Tiffany Lamps so well done in each window. What a model right there! Oh, then you performed another Lavvy Studios Productions epic music and train session. Well done!
Hi Allan, really enjoyed that mate I love the low down footage it puts a completely different perspective to the layout All the best to the family Andy
I am right at that point Allan and remember you saying start simple. So that is what I am doing as trying to draw out some sort of track plan is just not working. Well I enjoyed the music with the videos great running shots especially the low HST leading shots how on earth did you film that? Amazing to watch. Was that an 00Bill repair you were watching at the end?
Great running and the music is perfect, kinda like the HST running with Pullmans though I'm sure there will be some as you say that'll complain you can't do that it's wrong. Just to clarify when you say deleted do you mean you keep them in a box somewhere never to be used bar maybe for spare parts or do you just bin them.
What an awesome livery! I don’t think I’ve ever seen an HST in that livery. The class 43 has always been one of my favourites, but it just wouldn’t fit in with my layout 😂. Can I ask what camera you use to go around your layout? Hopefully see you at GETS. Take care - Riggsy
@@dragon-junction-MK2 Thanks Alan, building my first layout Roxham Junction at the age of 59 taking a lot of inspiration from the likes of yourself. Thank you.
Thank you for watching . As for the coach gaps i will be sorting most of mine after i have been to GETS. First point of call at GETS will be to go to West hill wagon works for more Hunts couplings. You can a set for the HST`S so they will be all sorted.
I love the class 43 hst's it's just a pity they're all being withdrawn from use. Nice fagpacket livery Al but as you say run what you want with what you want atb Andy
Alan, oop's. (Sorry) Lord Alan, please don't every loss that sense of humor. You said at the beginning of this video exactly, what I was thinking. Rule Number 1. Who wrote it? and did he also write the music? Your obedient servant, Martin. (Thailand)
I truly understand you not want any " come backs" ,however, there are young people who cant afford to get into this hobby or clubs with younger members who could use the stuff. You don't have to announce what your doing but jut a thought. Just another view.
I am a great believer in run what you want. Your layout and your rules. BUT!. You cannot beat a HST with its full rake of MK3s. The MK2s look weird on the fag packet train. Sorry Al.
Just caught up with this video. Don’t know how I missed it. Excellent running session and I loved the music. A real work of art. Thanks for sharing Lord Al. Roy.
Thank you Roy
Great video Lord of the Lavvy, the music always adds a sense of adventure to the video.
Thank you so much Paul.
Nice to see the new HST with the coaches brings back childhood memories and enjoyed the video
Thank you so much.

Do you want me to draw you one for your next one so you at least have one? haha :D x
Thank you so much Riggsy. As for the Camera. It`s a HAWKEYE FIREFLY Q7. It`s a drone camera really.
@@dragon-junction-MK2 thank you. I’ll have a look into those as I’d like to do a camera round my layout
Hello Alan, on your layout are the points motorised or manual operated ie, by hand?
Great channel my favourite. keep the good work up Lord Al.👍
Thank you for watching David and yes all by hand. Because they are all in easy reach

Thank you so much for watching and check out TMC they have some good deals on. You never know Richard you may be in look.
Looks great. But, what is it with most modelers? Why can't you get rid of the gaps between coaches?
