I always thought it felt really good especially into assassins etc. I noticed that nobody mentioned this in their Viktor guides so it's cool to see you do it :)

Honorable mention against like Yone , I like to wait if he does E or not at lvl 2 , and if he does I level W 2 to desengage his no counter play trade patern so I can save my HP , laser lvl 2 wont do anything against a Yone running you down with E

Also, in my experience, Zhonya or Banshee works great second if enemy team fked up and went full ad/ap OR they have strong early game ad/ap champs. It just gives you this insane edge over your opponents early to mid game in terms of survavibility (which Viktor severely lacks). It's faster to buy than Deathcap, and Shadowflame is not always viable like you said. I also saw Dun build Zhonyas second quite often.
Yeah I should've talked more about zhonyas! My biggest zhonyas tip is it's really good when you're AHEAD because you don't need the extra damage and if you can bait the enemy team into overplaying for your bounty but catch 'em with the stasis, you can secure a lot of wins that way. Or in games where the only way you lose is if you die, zhonyas is just amazing. I think the biggest zhonyas mistake I see is people buying it when they're behind though. Doesn't matter if you can't die if you don't do anything anyways. When behind, be greedy!
For itemization one thing I've seen some players do is rush shadowflame after lost chapter if they're snowballing. So maybe it's: 1. Luden's + ionian + lich into squish 2. Liandry's + sorc + cosmic into health stack if even or behind 3. Lost chapter + sorc + shadowflame THEN liandry's if ahead against health stack 4. Crown + Ionian + Lich into double ass?
After playing quite a bit of games, I feel like Viktor is not that front to back. His damage output on tanks is just too low. He does need a front line tho. I feel like viktor goal is actually walking just close enough to the oponent front line reaching the squishies with lasers, and escaping with Q on the front line for the move speed.
This is especially true with Ludens and front loaded runes like First Strike or Electrocute. I predominately play aery + liandry's so I'm more often shredding tanks and carrying very strictly front to back. In games where the enemy team is so squish or your ally team is so bursty, the fights don't look as "clean" front to back but the idea of picking your frontline to follow and go from there still holds. Jamy I want your take on this: I got Gold maining Renekton top, and I wanted to main Yone because it's so much fun so I played him in normal for 70 games = 37000 mastery points and I was doing pretty good or I thought I was, and played in my ranked game and I got fucking destroyed (mechanically) in the lanning phase, it felt like I was in a slow motion and he was shredding into piece, through the entire lanning phase I was always in low HP and hugging the turret, so I kind of knew mechanics is not my strength but damn , am I really mechanically this bad or I didn't put enough time? Or maybe I should stick to what's working? Side note: I'm a casual player
Going from Renekton top to Yone mid is like going from soccer goalie to a forward. It's pretty much an entirely different game with different focuses and priorities. Yone mid is more complex than Renekton, but not by as much as you may think. There is a lot more room to grow mechanically, but really the floor should be super easy. If it's not, it's more macro and champion identity stuff we need to work on first to catch up on Yone. The way that he views lane, wave management, scaling, trade patterns, and everything is completely different. Nail that stuff down first. What should you do? It depends on your goals. I think if you just want to hit the highest rank possible, stick with what works. If you want to learn Yone and have him be your main (because you have more fun with him or whatever it may be) in the future, you 100% can do that it just may take a couple of weeks/months to get him up to the level of our Renekton.
I personally don't like it, but if it works for you keep running it! You shouldn't need red scondary. Even with crown, it's up enough. Crown + banshees is super troll. And that much defensiveness I think is also pretty troll, I think it's coping for bad micro and positioning. Just go scorch and manaflow, dominate lane, and focus on being better yk. Without those 2 runes, going first strike makes early hard and you can't do what you need to do to stay ahead in farm.
Void staff is percent pen. If there is 0 magic resist in the game, squishy people end up being around 40-60 resist. Sorc shoes + shadowflame will flatly remove about 40 of that so void staff just isn't needed. When people start to buy mercs and MR items, then void shreds that THEN the flat pen applies, that's when void staff is really strong.

How are you upgrading his abilities? Whenever I level up I can't upgrade any ability after I reach a certain level.
