For the church convo I can relate and most times people get so offensively based on the topic but truly some churches are no longer a space where people should feel at home besides business but gossiping, competition and stuff

I’m sorry to mention this because I know it’s a touchy subject for a lot of people. Unfortunately you can’t serve 2 masters🙈 if you believe in the underground gang then it becomes difficult to serve God fully as well. One way or the other you will give more of yourself to either one, because the principles/ beliefs are different. So it will always be a tug and pull relationship because you are trying to please both. The offering part, I truly feel as black people we have been taught wrong about money when it comes to God. For some odd reason we don’t want to accept that churches also have running costs. It’s a NGO so as any NGO it functions on the money that is given. And they also have member care, churches take care of people and to protect the dignity of that person they won’t announce the help they give behind closed doors. But announcing how much they raised is fine because it involves everyone in the church. Offering is a personal revelation and the sooner black people understand the sacredness and beauty of it, I think we will enjoy church so much more and we would have a healthy relationship with offering.
