Sir the presenter, the Ethiopians were fighting from their heart for their dignity and survival whereas the invading army of Italy was simply conquering a land that doesn’t belong to them.

I notice that comments are turned off for video of teenager speech purported to be Adwa Combatant. The best Audio and video quality ever for moving pictures made in 1896 that proves that these supposed primitive people were Man for Man far more intellectually advanced than their vaunted Italian and Eritrean Adversaries. I do not wish to denigrate the Sacrifices and achievement’s of the Abyssinian’s/ Ethiopian’s. Certainly Menelik II must be commended for being a leader who did not fear making every effort to Arm the whole Body of His people with the very latest in Firearms technology and utilizing even antiquated arms where necessary. Private ownership of modern Arms was encouraged and part of the culture which contributed greatly to the advantage the Abyssinians enjoyed in the disparity of Numbers. Evidently the Italian leadership was as inept as Joe Biden thinking that a couple of warning shots would suffice to route the enemy and who need’s all that ammo anyway?

I disagree with the presentation. It is lop-sided and Eurocentric. The Ethiopians, despite traveling thousands of kilometers by foot and horse back, won the battle because they were smarter, determined and tactful. Many of the Ethiopian brave worriors were familiar with the terrain. Emperor Menelik and Empress Taitu were smart enough to enlist the service of double agents to the advantage of the Ethiopian worriors. None in Europe or the " civilized " world could even have dreamed of an African country of " savages" could inflict a decisive and crushing defeat to an European power. That was in the past. We need to give credit where credit is due. Ethiopia and Italy today are best friends.✌️😍😎☮️

It reminds me of the battle of Isandlwana in South Africa where the Zulu warriors defeated the British army.

One problem I see here is that many Europeans saw Ethiopia as a great nation long before Adwa. In fact the British tried to warn off Italy because they saw that Ethiopia was getting stronger. The Italians were just too arrogant.

not only haiti funded that war also about 5000 haitians went to Ethiopia and fought in that war. Truth need to be told, peace.
