  • My aquaponic system have been running for about a month now and everything seems to be fine so far.
My talipai fishs are doing great, and my beneficial bacteria in my system seems to be doing their job very well. My water chemistry is very good. Zero AMMONIA!
My talipai fishs are breeding so fast, and I now have more fries to care for. I want to go slow on my aquaponic system, because I am still learning. I consider my skill level is still at entry-level with a lot of question marks.
When talipai are at fry stage, they are extremely hard to raised. The one that makes to fingerings stage, than they are guaranteed to make it to adulthood on my water chemistry setting SAVE ZONE CHART.
Aquaponic is not as easy as many have thought. It is very hard and deals with a lot of care and maintenance every single day. If you don't have the time for it, I don't recommend you start one. Those who said aquaponic is easy, they area a LIER.
My talipai fishs in my aquaponic system is the main engine of the whole system. I founded that once my filtration systems was up, and running, the water in my 300 gallon Rubbermaid Stock Tank does not smell as bad as when I first start my system in my dining room.
Cleaning is very crucial, in order to prevent my system from crashing. I had to perform cleaning once a week. Talipai have two types of poops (the sinking poops, and the floating poops). For the sinking poops, my system can handle that automatically. For the floating poops, I would have to fishnet it out manually when ever I see them. Floating poops happens only once in a long while.
I know that there will be more challenges in the future, and I will need to do upgrade my filtration systems.
