I remember my first time fishing in Skarsundet... I wanted to catch a ling, and Kevin (the fishing guide, working for Phil) told me where and when to fish, on which bait and system, which depth and how to set my drift. First cast - 4 kg ling. Second cast - 3 kg ling. Easy:)
Next time, after 2 weeks, I had 9.5 kg ling, first cast. One of the best eating fish in Norway as well. Cannot wait to visit Skarsundet again, great place and great guides. Best value for money I ever had on my fishing trips. I hope you will build this channel very fast:)

Cheers for another very entertaining video Phill. A decent fronttroller with iPilot would be ideal for this type of fishing. Then you get rid of the engine sound, would drive me crazy.

So I take it when the big ling have been caught from the shore over the past few month they be chasing the coal fish shoals?
Am enjoying these boat fishing videos as I've not really done much boating, am just a shore dangler 😂😂

What reel are you using? I do deep sea fishing in Norway every year and not happy with my reel. It takes all my energy if it is deeper than 50-60m.

Hi Phil, nice video. What length and brand of lure do you use?

cant you just send them back down with a brick ? they would be ok if you got em back to the same depth. or does the high wind up kill them due to pressure?

Dead as a dodo from that depth, in fact they will die when being brought up from much less depth. They cannot recompress their swim bladders and have air bubbles in other places too, such as their eyes.
