- Mayabazar (transl. Market of illusions)[3] is a 1957 Indian epic Hindu mythological film[4] directed by K. V. Reddy. It was produced by Nagi Reddi and Chakrapani under their banner, Vijaya Productions. The film was shot simultaneously in Telugu and Tamil languages, but with a few differences in the cast. The story is an adaptation of the folk tale Sasirekha Parinayam, which is based on the characters of the epic Mahabharata. It revolves around the roles of Krishna (N. T. Rama Rao) and Ghatotkacha (S. V. Ranga Rao), as they try to reunite Arjuna's son Abhimanyu (Telugu: Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Tamil: Gemini Ganesan) with his love, Balarama's daughter (Savitri). The Telugu version features Gummadi, Mukkamala, Ramana Reddy, and Relangi in supporting roles, with D. Balasubramaniam, R. Balasubramaniam, V. M. Ezhumalai, and K. A. Thangavelu playing those parts in the Tamil version.

I don't know Tamil language. The telugu Mayabazar is classic. It's script is a nondetailed subject in 10th class students in Andhra Pradesh. The script writer for telugu is pingali naagendrarao, exclusively they sit on script for 18 months, pre production activities. Since the movie is classic in telugu. Every minute care was taken by great director K.V. Reddy.
Tamil actors of those days did overacting. Telugu Mayabazar is better.

Theatre artist were piped into cinema. Their origin were from theatre. Cinema was secondary to theatre/stage plays for them.

I do not get this , the 2 movies in telugu and tamil look so same for every scene.except NTR'S Voice. Other then Abhimanyu all are same mostly. How did they shot this? Was it something like first shoot in telugu and shoot the same scene in tamil

Many of old movies were made in each language. It was only when Telugu Movie industry moved from Chennai to Hyderabad things changed. Chennai had the busiest studieos during that time.
