    Gy6 swap for a honda ruckus. i covered most of the things you will NEED for a basic gy6 swap. basic, meaning- CHEAP route/ everything you will NEED in order to ride with a gy6 if starting from nothing. More info below.
    SUBSCRIBE!!!!!
    If you already own a ruckus then heres all you will NEED to do this swap.
    Motor mount:
    $110+50 to welder. Or buy bolt on mount which will be $375+ depending on choice.
    Gy6 motor: $350
    Amazon
    Drowsports
    Ruck house
    Makoa
    Any ruckus manufacturer
    Rear wheel- $120 if solid dish 7 or 8 inch (machinedmachines)
    Rear tire- $60 140/70/12
    Amazon
    Rear hub: $135- $150
    Machinedmachines
    Mikuni fuel pump-$20
    Amazon or ruckus site
    3/16 fuel lines- $10
    Amazon
    24mm Oko carburetor-$80
    Drowsports. Or can use stock carb which will be $25
    Air filter- $5
    Amazon
    Gy6 riser/angles clocking flange- $40-50
    Gy6 Throttle cable/slide throttle cable-amazon (silde throttle cable needed if oko carb is used) $30-$60
    Gy6 exhaust-$90
    Ebay (link in description)
    Exhaust gasket- $5
    Rear brake cable- 85'-87'
    Amazon $30
    Makoa wiring harness-$400
    Makoascooters
    Comes with everything you will need. Cdi box, coil, relay.
    (Can also buy cheaper wiring harness for 150 such ass ATR, Dan max and others) makoa is most reliable IN MY OPINION and easiest to install.
    Should be just under $1800 with the oko carb and slide throttle cable. (Remember you can save money on a harness but this one is a good one)
    This swap uses drum brakes. Front disc brakes are highly recommended. Enjoy.
    Link for exhaust: m.ebay.com/itm/... you will need to get a bracket to hold the can. Prob for 10 bucks max.

      Eram Ahmed not hard at all. the front frame is the ruckus itself so as long as u buy a front frame local then it will easy. other wise you will need to get a title tranfer if you buy from different state. but then again i dont know the rules of cali.

    • @gy6nick883
      @gy6nick883  Před 8 lety +1

      I like the 150. a 171 feels just like the 150 but the 171 keeps climbing a litter faster after 55. it's fun riding the 150 cause u can use more of it all the time. and yes ur right about the 228 and 232 they are straight drag racing motors. especially when they are all full taida parts. 228 and 232 have crazy torque compared to 150. especially with stock gearing. I can cruise 60 at qr throttle on my 228. on the 150 I gotta hold 3qr - full throttle
      so for i got the 150 to top out at 67
      so far 228 Tops out at 83.

      @erendyalatorre7785 Před 7 lety

      ray howard you're better off buying a ninja 250 for 1500-2000 imho. Waaaay funner and will get on the highway without any issues. Blue collar bobbers also make a cafe racer kit if you're into that kind of stuff

    • @gy6nick883
      @gy6nick883  Před 7 lety

      ray howard i wouldn't say a ninja 250 is more fun but its definitly safer and more reliable on the highway. but doing 70+ on the highway daily is not really recommend for a gy6 ruckus. once in a while maybe but not every day thats a lot of stress on the motor.

      @gy6nick883  Před 7 lety

    • @wildwilco
      @wildwilco Před 7 lety

      I could put a 70cc 2stroke engine on it, including a properly tuned 17,5mm carb for it, and it wil outperform any tuned 150cc 4stroke engine. And for less money. In the long run, 2stroke engines are WAY cheaper than these horrible performing 4stroke engines
