Wes tears a phone book in half. The pages are thrown in the air. Then Wes stabs the thought of page with a sword! - Komedie
Unbelievable that Wes actually picked someone who knew how to rip a phonebook!
Now knowing how it is done, the guy at the end almost ruined the trick trying to check the number on the page stuck in the sword kkkkkkkk

CarterDoesStuff That was all show :D i think the guy is a assistent on him. Because at the second time he can clearly see that the paper is on the sword so it must be a guy who is in the trick :D

I believe the guest is legit and he says "throw the pages" with enough of a gap in between "on the count of three" so that most people will throw them and look silly.

The page is on the sword before you stab into the pages I slowed it down and it's on the sword before the sword even gets close to the rest of the pages, explains why it's all folded up and you stand with your back to us, you have to hide it at the perfect angle and it fans out a bit because the paper in a phone book is so thin

poss. page break, he stops at the page he planned on. also for the other dude, its too fast to see the page on the sword before it hits the other pages.
That would be a Force, which he doesn't use (watch his performance of this trick on Fool Us).

sneak peak trick. while he explanes how he is supposed to rip it in half, he peaks at the page he is supposed to stab. at the end, no one checks if he got the correct page
plus, he tells the other guy to wait when he approaches to check if the correct page got stabbed

It still doesn't explain how he knows which page to use. The only method I can think of is a "force" but this was disproven on Penn & Teller. So honestly.. I have no frickin' idea how.

When he tells him to pick a page number he holds the book in a manor to where you cant see his right hand, he slightly alters that page with that hand so he has a reference. In this scenario he used the “getting the chair” action to take a peak at what page was altered. Now he knows what page it is and in the end he simply bluffed that he caught the right page. Which is why he doesn’t let anyone verify if it is the actual page.
