Cameraman: Nopppp

"let me just get a close up on his veins and go back to the sketch"
Yeah, fuck you for trying! This is not about the drawings, this is about the camera angles, zoom ins on his face and the giggles in the background

-Girl in the background: *this is the funniest shit i've ever heard*
"Girl in background" is Karla Ortiz
@@medusaminiatures4006 and who is karla ortiz?
@@notsolegalciv2761 if you went this far on web,id expect you know how to use google
Karla Ortiz doesn't need to laugh at anyone's jokes, she does becouse she's unapologetically nice with everybody.
omg so anoying girl...
"I try to do strong female characters because I have a young daughter... I want them to be girls that look like you don't want to mess with them. I am trying to be conscious of that" A big thank you, sir
Then theres gi hahah

@@keemielulep840 he's alright, a bit of a pervert but who really isn't, he's obviously more open about it than others hah
@@keemielulep840 nothing wrong with it, its his art
Art doesn't make a person good or strong person. Good and strong PARENTS make good and strong people.
Karl: “AND HE TURNED HIMSELF INTO A PICKLE”

Funniest shit I've ever heard
Funniest shit I’ve ever seen.
Funniest shit I’ve ever tasted
Funniest shit i ever snorted.
Funniest shit I’ve ever gently caressed
How people think artists come up with ideas: I did copious amounts of research to put a great amount of symbolism and detail into my artwork. Nothing is a coincidance, also here is a 10 page essay explaining the meaning of this piece.
Karl: Theres a "T" for truck cause he has a truck on his head
Omg I love him so much😂 we appreciate a legend
😂😂🤦♂️
"i just like how the hands look"
Build some character
Always loved Karl's drawings but never realized that he was such a pleasant person to listen to. The man exudes some tranquil vibes.
Karl kopinski:"I like to make character to look like individual so instead of a generic face they seem like they have a story to tell."
Also Karl kopinski: "Man with a gun, man with an axe, man with a gun and a sword."
Still doesn’t mean they have no story to tell.
That's why he said it's a trap he falls into and is working on improving it
Konichiwa! And another man with an axe.
"My daughter likes the cute kawaii things". Lol.
right?! zombies with cute shirts! haha
ElegeantFencer Kawaii literally means “cute”
karl will raise a weeb kids
Enjoyed it for the most part... but some camera angles were really annoying to look at!
Fred Sig Karl is soo good !
Indeed! He's amazing!!
I can't agree more, I almost turned it off but instead I suffered through the nausea and dizzying editing cuts to get the small glimpses into the sketchbook and his words!
For real, just show the sketches
Oh! What a tradegy
One of the best artists on this planet and the coolest, down to earth guy.
@2:05 “idiot now draw 50 hands” ACTUALLY ME
LIttle_Reno that shit had me dead😂
I don’t know, can we get an even closer look at the artist’s faces when you do these?i can’t quite see all their pores.
ok most of the comments about the camera angles in all these videos were getting more annoying than the camera angles but this one was pretty funny 😆
😂😂😂😂
I swear when I see Karl’s face it makes me think of a 3D character from a game . Just how he moves his eyes it’s just so cool. Karl is now 1 of my top 5 artist
I get what you mean, I see it too!
I want to draw like this man
Lets get to practicing!
Jenny A I believe in you
You can't it, needs hundreds of hours and maybe thousands.
@@nantzstein3311 Maybe? 100% you need a few thousand hours to get to his level unless you're some sort of drawing God born to teach us plebs the ways of art.
@@nantzstein3311 Well don't say "You can't" because you can. It's just going to take time.
Karl:
Lady in the background: hahahahahahhah
"I named my son Art because I thought it was funny"
Lol
"zoom in closer on the face....closer...closer...."
thank you so much for this.
interesting to see you here. nice videos man!
As a Native American, seeing someone that ISN'T American draw my race and have someone very close to them be interested in my race made me so happy. I never come across artists that draw my people.
I love doing native inspired characters! I mostly mix a bit of fantasy though like in many of my characters.
I was extremely fascinated by native Americans in my childhood. I had a small illustrated book about native Americans and i adored it!
I'm Greek btw
What about artists from your people?
Fechin did a whole series
"There's more and more evidence for artists being stupid as we go deeper into the interview I think..." Lol, he is so genuine.
This man is brilliant. Comes off as very genuine guy and his work is awesome.
"Yeah but when I'm 75, I'll be really good."
"When I'm 80, I'm gonna be shit-hot."
I love this quote so much
It's always interesting how artists can be so different in their styles but think in almost the exact same way.
This is so god damn inspiring tbh I wish I had a dad like him
be the son then
Kim Jung Gi from the east, and Karl Kopinski from the west
We need from North and South as well.
You read my mind Michael
Or
Am i ?
PID So damn accurate.
And now karl is with Kim's studio, Superani.
5:02 lol l love such artist saying "Kawaii things.."
I have a signed copy of Karl Kopinski's book. I love his personality and his sketches. What a positive artist. We love you Karl.
Interesting how he uses a woodless pencil for sketching. What an awesome artist with amazing skill. That's some art goals right there, man.
theyre great really, very soft and allow for much expression. use them all the time, but ur hands get really dirty after a while haha
-Karl: *Starts live drawing*
-Cameraman: *oh this is the action part now!? better get stupid angles!*
It's not camera man tho... It's who edits the videos. Camera Men are just filming every angle...
Karl Kopinski - your my one of the favorite artist .
Carla can't stop laughing; someone is in love... oh, me too!
I was looking for that comment, thank you, dear sir, for mentioning that.
Initial D. Luffy King of the Dorifto Pirates What if he's gay? Do you have a problem with it? Its that bad? Shut the fuck up
+Jo Fu haha
She's like that all the time
That laugh is so cute though
It is pretty interesting to see that even older artists are still trying something out or figuring out how some tools work. That inspires me a lot to see artists who are not stuck in one style in particular. (I'm talking about the inking part he showed us...)
I've been following his art for so long! This is the first time i've heard him talk about his work and now I love it even more!
Found a new art idol. To inspire my own art. He is incredible!
He is such a cool guy. I really admire him. He's extremely skilled and seems very humble.
I see so many comments about Karla or the camera looking at the artist etc but these videos are the most interesting videos to watch, they are so intimate, The little smirk an artist has as he views a piece about his son or the frustrated look they have as they notice a drawing they see all the things wrong with it. I connect with this so much, it's a small look into a part we never see with artists, usually a bunch of introverts but for a moment we get to see the beauty they see in their own work and also the constant stuggle they have too.
Who else to start a sketchbook series with but the Karl Kopinski himself! I love his artwork since the day i discovered it, the inspiration and knowledge it gained me changed my own art and taught me to look at drawing from a different perspective.
Cant wait for more episodes!

this video gives wonderful hints about life and art in an understandable and calming way
thank you karl kopinski i will never again stop drawing
What a great and gentle person - so good listening to him. Thanks for doing what you do!
First time i've heard about Karl and seen his work. 😊Thank you. Now a big fan. Love his art, love his attitude. This vid is now bookmarked so i can come back and replay again and again.
Amazing guy, stunning work. Makes me feel like i'm drawing with a pencil trapped between the toes of my left foot.
Lol for real
Wow, this man's passion for sketching and drawing is amazing. Videos like this encourage me to get to where he is at now. Well done man, alot of work must of went in to get to your level and mindset.
the delightful giggles in the background just really makes this video even more satisfying to watch

Fantastic work , outstanding Sketchbooks! I love his humor haha he seems like such a down to earth guy
He's super fun and personable. I wish I had an adult figure like him to his son growing up pushing me to draw more. I can't imagine not being inspired hanging around skill like his all the time.
This guy is a monster and is funny to know that sometimes he still feel insecure with his amazing art. I think this is regular for all of us, artists. I loved this video. I wish I could be with him in his studio watching him drawing all day.
to add to my prev comment - a lot of illustrators / artists that are interviewed don't really talk about their errors or mistakes - I appreciate Karl's honesty and in hearing this I think it really helps up and coming illustrators to accept that making mistakes is all part of evolving as an artist.
What a chilled humble great artist. I'm so jealous of such skill.
"Who doesn't like chastising themselves over bad things?" Was great being able to talk to you Karl. Great dude.
Ink can be very unforgiving. But it looks so good.
Appreciate his humour & lighthearted attitude. This was very inspiring! Thank you!
It is just so cool listening to how passionate He is about His art.
Wow I’ve never felt so connected with what someone said. “Yesterday I was drawing on a plane and messed up the hand. So I immediately drew a page of hands”. Always your own worst critic, even when you’re an incredible artist. I wish I was as lighthearted as this guy about it
I enjoyed his personal descriptions of his drawing. He’s very humble.,..while being an awesome artist. It resonated with me about the way he became upset with the drawing he was doing on the plane.. he was “chastising” himself over a mistake on a hand. So he took a page in his sketch book & drew nothing but hands. That’s something that was ingrained into me while improving my skills in the disappointing areas by doing exactly that until you are comfortable with the area needing work. Good to know how artists who become well-known have the same issues as others rest of us.
I love just listening to this guy talk
Humble, chill, and incredibly talented and hard working. Awesome dude and amazing art. Really inspiring. Makes me want to get back to more drawing.
This is one of the coolest videos I’ve seen in a while
I just love hearing his advice, his story, and his acceptance of self. t makes it so ok not to be perfect artist but yet is so good!. I even love hearing how he interacts with his kids. favorite illustrator to listen to.
I love this series so much! I just recently ordered my copy of The Big Kopinski and I can’t wait to dive into it!
the details of the artworks are just amazing
Thanks for this serie, I love to watch it, very helpful when I am running out of motivation or losing confidence in my artwork

You’ve made my day...
This was awesome... especially the ending....How true are those words... its all relative...love this guy...he so gets it!
I love the way this guy talks and describes his art
He’s right about drawing being like meditation...geez sometimes when I draw I fall asleep lol
I have always been amazed by his work. Never knew what he looked like. He seems really cool in person. Very funny, and honestly reminds me of David Bowie!
modern day master . lucky to be born in era of karl , kim and katsuya

Clicked on this by accident, yet was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed the video quite a bit!
There's something about the way that Karl speaks that makes me want to listen to him all day.

wtf the videos cost 40€ each.. with that money i can actually buy artist sketchbooks on amazon/ebay
Beautiful commentary. I have encountered the same concerns on my own artist journey. Thank you for sharing.
Your command of facial expression and "body language"
is enviable. I'm good at anatomy, but have never really
worked ENOUGH on those two aspects. I really need to
get BUSY!
Great video, great images, great guy! Awesome!❤️
"Don't hurt me, I'll draw." LOL! Great video.
