As a soldier I have seen too many human lives cut short,many people waste what short time they have and many are not really living they are just existing and waiting on death to take them,if you live a life without Jesus Christ then you have truly wasted your life and the time you had on this earth.

I love First Dallas, but I am starting to have some questions on why your playing music written by Bethel or related artists, it matters where the music we worship and what they stand for, by playing their music your really sowing a seed into the money and etc that they stand for and they are NOT aligned with true doctrine and it does matter. I pick Baptist churches as they generally have your old fashioned hymns, God centered and rooted in sound doctrine. I find myself now going back and wondering how many other hymns Ive been signing at your church are hillsong, elevation, bethel. It may not seem important but some of these churches are down right BAD!!

Be careful…. Lisa. If your say a…..Baptist or Presbyterian and sing a old Hymns penned by Charles or John Wesley, yes those Old Methodist guys. Lisa just remember those old Hymns were written by people that may not be totally aligned with your church. Bill Gaither, Nazarene Wesley church guy. Lisa I bet you sing “Because He Lives”. So just be careful who you talk about.
You bring up a good point, but if the teaching is consistent with Christian belief, is that not all that matters? I consider all the wonderful music that has been written, and some of the writers had beliefs that I find repugnant. Should we not listen to their music because we di not like the ideology of the person who wrote it? Where is the line drawn?
Lisa, have you ever sung any songs containing the lyrics written by David in the Psalms? Do you know that man not only slept with another man’s wife but also arranged to have that man killed? Every time you sing those lyrics, are you endorsing such acts? No, that would be a ridiculous notion.
This song is rich in biblical truth and our blessed hope. There is absolutely nothing wrong with singing it in truth. Man’s shortcomings will never take away from the power of the truth of Gospel. If it were so, we would sing no songs other than what Christ himself wrote. And if Christ is truly the Word, then let every song be measured against the Word and nothing else.
Their baptistic roots are slowly dying. Jezebel has crept in.
