Say what you want about the Pens’ offense, but Ullmark was lights out tonight
As a Pens' fan I have to admit I was frustrated for your team last year, they set some serious records and played so well and organized. In spite of Florida's run to the cup, I still wasn't convinced they had enough to win it all and I was right. Hopefully Ullmark will be healthy this time around.

0:6 against WSH, 1:5 against Boston... It seems that Pens turn to current version of Sharks step by step. No thoughts, no chemistry, no playing ideas & plans, no defence. Another game with overshooted opponent and almost without goals and any danger. It is pain and bloody tears to see something like this...

The Caps and Pens ruled the Metro for a decade until the Caps won their first cup. From 2009-2018 they compilied four cups between them. Not bad at all. Since then neither team has won so much as a single round in the playoffs and now it looks like the second straight season missing out altogether for both teams.
Good night for Islanders fans, Wings, Pens and especially the Flyers losing is good news. With three games in hand on Philly I'd say third in the Metro is looking better by the day.

@@jimkeats891 Bruins had 2x the scoring opportunities, at least at one point when they showed it on screen and it was 13 for Boston and only 6 for the Penguins.

The ONLY thing I liked about Pittsburgh is when they scored, they didn't celebrate. Because they sucked and know it.
Letang doesn't blast it, a hard shot but he takes a little off it for accuracy, it's not always the huge slapshots that find the net, beautiful shot.
Zacha gives goals with such lightness.
The fourth goal is absolutely shameful. You can see how the Pittsburgh five are slowly going to the substitution, although the puck is in the middle zone. The goal was scored just like in training.

I'm a Caps fan so I hate the Pens. But this is natural, happened to Chicago, LA, everyone. At least Pens have 2 cups, moreover back to back. There are teams who had to go through rebuild without actually winning anything, Ducks, Leafs, Vancouver, Rangers.. I just hope they trade Crosby (not sure if Malkin is still good enough as well) to a contender so they don't have to suffer as much.

You can see it by how the Penguins played and skated tonight. They're done. The whole team has checked out. If Kyle Dubas is not allowed by ownership to fire Coach Sullivan like I've been hearing then ownership needs to make that call.
And in fairness to Dubas, he's not had a whole lot to work with so far with this team. Ron Hextall did so much damage, and all Dubas has been able to do is damage control. He did a great job going into the season on paper, axing ugly contracts and bringing in Erik Karlsson. But it hasn't worked on the ice, and I think it's due to coaching. The Players don't respond to Mike Sullivan anymore. And now Dubas is having to walk the fine line between rebuilding and keeping the big three together.
One thing's clear. This team's competitive window is over. We can keep the big 3 together all we want for nostalgia, but nostalgia doesn't win games. So for now, I guess all we can do is chear this team on knowing the competitive days are behind us, and enjoy the big 3 for the final few years they are together. For the sake of being a fan and enjoying this team even in the dark times currently, Let's Go Pens!

Worst Pens team in a really really long time. Everything Dubas has touched has gone to crap since he became the GM. I know he has not been in the role long, but geez oh man, it is ugly! Wholesale changes are needed all around.
It's the ownership group. This is what they do to teams. They also own the red sox and look at them. It's the same story there.

OK we need to give you a school lesson on what “overrated” means the word overrated is when someone thinks people are over hyping something that they don’t really seem too special or too important putting this on a hockey team like the penguins you can see no one is over hyping or treating the penguins like a big deal they are a team no one is over them. No one is treating them any differently. They are perfectly rated.
