Same. Came with my Gameboy along with Tetris. Played for hours and wrecked my eyes hehe. Now, I have multiple hacked consoles and handheld devices. Combined with emulation, I take for granted how simple and valuable a gaming moment like this was.
it was also my first GB game. i absolutely hated it ;_; got it from a catalogue, thinking it's going to be like Mario, but with Yoshi. instead i got... this. crappy tetris.
You can totally tell the Pokémon team worked on this game. The sound pitch sounds a lot like red and blue, specifically the game corner in Celadon City.
Finally found out the name of this game! I remember like 20 years seeing someone (my cousin I think) playing this on gameboy and I never got the name of it.
This and Tetris came with my gameboy package when I got it for christmas. I hated it. I wanted a "real" game, (plaformer) like Super Mario Land or Super Mario Land 2.
I miss the simple arcade style games like these... They were fun and nobody cared about graphics. This was the first gameboy game I ever owned, The second one I got was Snow bros Jr.
Pfff that a long repetitive boring game with the same screen and music all over again, how could this not grant on your brain cells, yes it does have some cut scenes here and there but that’s it, i personally wich it was a supermariobros 3 2.0 game with yoshi in it,hence the pakage of it.
This was the first gameboy game I owned, Oh man, the memories...
I used to play it for hours on end.
Same here ! I bought it with the first Gameboy ... in 1999 ! I guess almost ten years late is not a big deal when you're 8 years old XD

Wunderbare Kindheitserinnerung! Danke fürs hochladen !
this one and Dr. Mario came with my Game Boy.
The music from this game is burnt deep into my brain even though I probably haven't played this in 10+ years
I haven’t played it since the 90s I think and I still remember it
Bei der Musik hat meine liebe Mutter immer zu mir gesagt: Was hast denn da für ein Georgel an 😂😂
My childhood
Personally, I always found the Game Boy version of this game superior to the SNES version - a very rare occurrence! I really love the music!
