    I am finishing a 2004 Jeep have videos but am technology inefficient. I reccommend buying an old surburban and using all the systems from it to adapt to what ever build your doing. Take the body off for easy access. Good show. Love the 70s Vette.

    So did you keep the Bell housing in the factory location and bolted the LS to it? I have a SBC with a Viper T56 in my car and thought about the LS swap, but need the bell housing to not move at all. Otherwise the turbo SBC will stay.

    Awesome work.. although there are millions of cars that use electric fans every day and are proven that in fact you can have an electric fan for cooling the radiator reliably.

    With shroud modifications, isn't the fan going to suck from under the car than through the radiator? Why didn't you run dual exhaust like on early Vettes? There is a power steering kit which will eliminate the valve and cylinder giving more room under the car.(Borgeson)

    • @TuquesNTires
      @TuquesNTires  Před rokem

      We haven’t had any problem with the fan keeping the the engine cool, it might be sucking a bit of air but it’s been fine so far, the car had a sbc so we just made the exhaust to attached to the existing exhaust and good to know about the steering kit!

    • @TuquesNTires
      @TuquesNTires  Před 4 měsíci

      If I remember correctly I don’t think there would be enough room for the truck ac pump so would probably have to buy a aftermarket bracket to relocate it, we are using a factory truck harness that we cut down and the computer fit beside the brake booster. The vats were deleted from the computer as well.

  • @gabefoster8620
    @gabefoster8620 Před rokem

    Question on the computer side of this can you buy a computer for this? I have a 76 im working on for ls swap with a t56 trans. How do you go from the ls1 wiring harness to the rest of the car with the computer controlling engine functions?

    • @TuquesNTires
      @TuquesNTires  Před rokem +2

      So I’m just using the engine harness to operate the engine and using all the old sensors off the old engine for the gauges in the car

    Awesome project got my 82 getting ready to do a LS7, and you were right about people may comment about that compression fitting for the PS line, um.......if that pops off you got high pressure oil going to spray on the manifolds and cause a serious fire hazard. can you do a inverted flare fittings and flare that tube like a brake line?

    • @TuquesNTires
      @TuquesNTires  Před rokem +1

      That’s awesome! Yeah I’m sure we could have done something like that or even a AN style flare but for now the compression fitting will work for now till we get the right line on there, not saying it’s the right way but in a pinch it works haha

    • @TuquesNTires
      @TuquesNTires  Před rokem

      The car originally had a sbc 350 so we just used the ignition wire that went to the distributor to power the ECU for keyed power, and we reused all the sensors from the old motor and kept the original gauges.

    Would it be easier to swap a 454 ho into it?

    • @TuquesNTires
      @TuquesNTires  Před rokem

      Maybe, I know it was pretty tight with the exhaust with doing the LS and with a 454 being physically bigger it would just make it harder, the only thing that would be a little easier with the 454 would be the fuel system and the wiring, that said if it was my car and I had a 454 laying around I’d give it a try would be pretty sweet!

    • @TuquesNTires
      @TuquesNTires  Před rokem +2

      That’s a great question! So far from driving the car, you can feel the power difference with the LS and it’s really good on gas too, but the only thing is it doesn’t have that 4 barrel carburetor sound when you put your foot into it, but is it worth it personally I think so but every one likes something different
