  • NJPW wants to clarify the roles of their titles.
NJPW STRONG was largely a product of the COVID-19 pandemic, as NJPW held shows in America while travel restrictions limited their ability to expand into the United States. As part of this process, NJPW crowned a STRONG Openweight Champion and STRONG Tag Team Champions. These titles have been defended at NJPW events in Japan recently.
On June 4, NJPW President Hiroshi Tanahashi, Representative Director Hitoshi Matsumoto, and owner Takaaki Kidani addressed the media.
At a press conference NJPW President Hiroshi Tanahashi and owner Takaaki Kidani commented on the company’s relationship with AEW.

I did a NJPW search today. I wanted to follow up on Dominion. I saw today was when Tanahashi celebrated his sixth month as NJPW President.
    Talent discovery and development:
It would do NJPW good to talent scout. I love the idea of adults in their twenties. Let us build relationships from the very beginning.
    Elevating the value of titles:
If NJPW wants the STRONG belts to be American based, I am for it. These are just words for now. New Japan needs to start booking more STRONG shows. I'm not calling for every single week. Would be nice once or twice a month.
The IWGP and NEVER belts should be defended not just on NJPW shows. Not just in association with AEW (for Forbidden Door). I have called for this over the last decade. I'll talk about Championship relations later.
    Reducing/eliminating interference:
I would love that. No more of this nonsense perpetuated over the years. When I pay for shows, I love the straight up one on one. Two on two. Whatever number gone with.
Let the Heels (in the match) cheat when called for. No rely on help all the time.
    Increasing Hontai:
I am for this. It's been bullshit to me how foreigners have majority gone to Bullet Club. A smidge went to CHAOS. Select few joined United Empire.
Hontai mainly felt like Japanese only. That's not good when you are looking to expand globally.
    Strengthening ties with Stardom:
Oh baby. I love women. I really do.
This is kind of grip against NJPW for me. They have two women's belts. Never had those champs on traditional NJPW shows.
They have to start building a stronger women's presence. They can't be segregated as I have seen. We need to have Stardom talent on the main NJPW shows (regardless of house events or PPV).
    Strengthening ties with AEW:
This one is the most controversial point. Tanahashi is a peacekeeper. So is Kidani San too. That is good for business to some degree.
Last week saw a feeling of frustration kinda return. Lol. I am still a general fan. It sucks from the true business standpoint. NJPW and AEW have working relationships with Rev Pro.
NJPW had a huge opportunity five to six years ago (before Mox showed up) to draw fans for Rev Pro. They had the Rev Pro Tag Champs on their roster. They failed to utilize Minoru Suzuki and Zack Sabre. Even if brief, it would have been cool to have seen Suzuki as IWGP Champ alongside Sabre the Rev Pro Champ.
I kinda laugh how Mox won the IWGP title in his first shot. Not just that but do so without really knowing what goes on in NJPW. *shakes head*
Since then I have not appreciated these eliminator matches. If he wants to be a fighting Champ (outside NJPW), I would have loved actual title defenses in AEW. Do so against contracted NJPW wrestlers.
    Improving fan experience:
This goes back to Stardom/general female talent use. Don't segregate. Do have a female only section.
    Improving NJPW World:
    Please do.
    Improved treatment of personal information:
    They better..
    NJPW Sponsorships:
This is a business. Majority of businesses make money. NJPW is no different. Who is willing to sponsor this company? Let's find out.

Get rid of all the Strong belts, the Global and NJPW World Title and bring back US and IC Title so we can return to the glory days of the Roman Empire. (Also make a splash for free agency in terms of Puro Talent)
