yea that noise gated reverb actually sauce damn
Waaaait the reverb bus is acc genius
The gate triggering the reverb is such a dope idea!! Stealing this, thank you! 🫶
This is unreal. This makes me fundamentally rethink effects chains.
Mans made a whole sound engineering video while explaining dope guitar tone 🔥 good info!
I stumbled upon your video with no idea who Mk.gee was. But I thought the tone tour was crazy so I started listening Mk.gee afterwards. So you introduced me to an amazing artist this week, thanks bro
So glad I found your channel!
dude, you nailed it
this video is *chefs kiss*
Impeccable sound bro 🩵
Best video on how to get his tone if you just have plugins!!
Great tutorial mate thnx!!!
Very good reconstruction! 🎉 gonna try that for shure, as soon you played the dream police chords it’s all set!
sounds amazing
Wow good job!
sick tutorial, thanks!
the whole video is fire, but that noise gate pre-verb in the fx send is insane.
issa cool tone you got there, bro 👽 i’ll defo be giving it a try. thanks for the tip
Jesus
The tone was actually insane
Thats sick man, thanks!
Great job!
mk.gee's tone are obviously fire. but also big shout out to the guitar player that's been touring with him. that dude get's like massive 80s synth soft attack lead tones out of his guitar. not sure how, but it doesn't sound like it's just a synth pedal, but I guess it could be.
Probably the Roland vg8
@@marcs1024 its exactly the roland vg8
Brilliant :) I’m gonna try the noise gate reverb distortion send
Rhett Shull highlighted the dynamic fuzz/reverb and how he achieved it but this is pretty brilliant. 😊
broke my brain. gates are going on all my sends now
Sounds kind of similar. Nice one 👏
Brilliant
Lovely ✨🌿✨
dope thank you
THANK YOU
Reverb noise gate trick is sick asf
nice man you got it way better than rhett shull did. subbd
that is sick
gated verb send is a sick idea
so smart!!
genius
wow!!! 💯
genius reverb trick
Pretty coo😎
Ohh we got tonemaster mkgee over here. Just kidding. Awesome vid!
woww
Amazing! You really nailed it! IK-Multimedia have a "Tascam Porta One" and "Tascam 388" plug-in, which is really good as well! :) How the heck do you keep your guitar in tune when tuning it down to a-standard? :D
Using a heavy gauge set, 62 on the bottom
Love this my guy! Qq what studio monitors are you using? Are they the Yamaha HS8s?
HS7s
does anyone know how you would do the gate thing in FL
crazy
can anyone make on of these for ableton?
vocal mix tutorial plzzz
Gotta run synth is parallel!
Are you changing string gauge to keep tension when going to A standard?
How do you do this through a computer? Do you need a DAW and special software? I am using a Boss Katana and wondering if I can use the same kind of setup as you through my amp.
What gage strings do you use for drop A? Is that a 25.5 scale length?
Def the closest recreation I've found from watching like 8 diff people's, but nobody includes the modulation effect from Dream Police and I cannot quite figure that part out!
The modulation is likely chorus or flanger, and he also uses a special pickup that converts the guitar's signal to MIDI and runs it through a synth to make is sound like there's an electric piano playing alongside the guitar
this is FIRE!!! how did you tune down your guitar without breaking strings? i was planning on getting a new set of flat wounds just to tune my guitar to mk.gee tuning, but i heard it can destroy the guitar. any thoughts?
I got a heavy gauge set of strings and just went for it. Have never had any issues with putting heavy strings on a guitar aside from maybe re-adjusting the neck. Definitely won’t destroy the guitar though :)
You'll need to adjust the truss rod in the neck because those strings are not meant to be tuned on regular guitar's neck scale length (which is usually 24-25.5" whereas a proper baritone is usually 27"-29"), and you'll also probably need to adjust the intonation with the screws under the bridge to make sure the guitar holds tune everywhere on the neck. Lastly you will likely need to file the string cavities in the nut to fit the thicker gauge strings -- if they don't sit all the way into the cavity you can have more tuning issues
You’re a jet fan? Subscribed.
Great tutorial
J-E-T-S baybeeeeeee
YOOOOOOOO
How do you get in that tuning? Sorry for the stupid question 😅
How much would this tone cost?
Does logic have really low latency? I've ran similar plugins + UAD studer on FL studio on PC and i run it to a little too much delay sometimes. still playable but would prefer less yenno
I've found workarounds for most latency issues in Logic, the Low Latency Mode is pretty effective
@@lovalamp damn. Might have to get a mac one day to try that out
which guitar is this
You using flat wound strings?
What string gauge are you using?
Combined a couple different sets to make it 62-17, was using 62-13 D’addario’s before but it wasn’t stiff enough for my liking
Is your guitar tuned b to b?
hat?
It's true you have to use a camo ballcap.
Absolutely non-negotiable element
I run my guitar through 5 soundgoodizers
too much high end on the distorty bitey bits but nailed it otherwise. great stuff
bruh i have the same monitors and desk as u
wait a minute this isnt the MGK tutorial
excuse me for being dumb as rocks, but youre not using an amp? i know there was no amp shown in the video i just am always afraid to explore guitar tones that dont use an amp due to the harshness of the high end. just curious
You need some flat wounds dude, otherwise pretty close, but the latency would kill me.
Don’t really have issues with latency, if it does happens just switch some preferences in Logic and I’m g
This is incredible but first you gotta be able to play the guitar like you. Try teaching that 😂. I’ve been playing for 25 years and I can’t come close.
Bro sound more like mk.gee than mk.gee does
basic table manners should be part of the tone
Yep pretty close. MK.gee tones still sound like garbled ass though
Yeah I mean cool plugins and all but his sound is unique it's weird to try to imitate him find your own sound bruj
Just having fun playing guitar yo, live a little :)
