I’m a bit late to the party finding this channel... what a find! It’s never too late, this stuff is inspirational and almost timeless. How do you start as a teen in a back room and build a much loved global brand worth £1b in less than a decade? It’s all here, set out stage by stage. Ben has consistently documented his journey and the result is a bit like your mate updating you on what’s been going on lately. Just start watching the first video, work through them and get inspired. Who said you can’t work hard, create products, build a brand, have fun and stay superfit in the process.
I have always wanted to run my own business so I started watching some you tube vids and stumbled across your stuff. Found everything very inspiring and got some great ideas from watching. I am starting my own brand a little late in life as I am in my late 40s . But I thought if I dint do it I never will.

Great stuff. It's easy to listen to you about these things because your success comes from a legitimate business. Sometimes it's hard to listen to others on CZcams as it's in the back of my mind that there is some kind of affiliate scheme or sponsorship involved. Your message is authentic and true. Great channel - keep it up.
Another recommendations power bi - the data can be turned into fancy easy to understand charts and is a great package by Microsoft. Your data team will know the package and if they don’t - then they need to be clued up on power bi :-). I work as an information analyst for nhs digital :-)
Would highly recommend Miro for unstructured visual sense-making / frontend design work 📝 Notion for documentation 👀 Miro for visualisation ✏️ Adobe CC for creation 🖥 Keynote for presentation 📲 Slack for communication
Check out Google docs as a level up on Excel. Also there's inkscape which is an open source vector editor as opposed to a bitmap editor like Photoshop. Better for social images, banners, logos etc. imo.
Wondering if you're not using something like Asana at gymshark? Also check out Figma, which is massive for brainstorming. Its kinda like Powerpoint (Keynote) + Illustrator, absolutely love this. I will check out Notion. Keep healthy and grinding Ben!
Hey Ben, you're missing tons of business from NL customers by not redirecting them to the NL store. Right now they're being redirected to the EU store. But the EU store does not have an option to select The Netherlands as shipping destination.
Searching "Gymshark" on Google also has the EU store as first option, so someone will fill their cart on there and then be unable to check out because their country is not listed as a destination. Resulting in them abandoning their order because they assume Gymshark is not available in their country.
Love it, have started using Notion a couple of weeks ago too. Using it truly feels like building something together, no matter how early-stage the idea may be. Something I have not experienced using any other similar type of tool.
Good to know these useful apps, I feel as though my mind is travelling at 100mph so it's hard to get things done. but breaking it down to smaller steps may help me make progressive steps 🙏

The market is still not as saturated as your western markets and the target audience is huge and growing with eacg passing day. This leaves a behemoth opportunity to capture the untapped market. Hey Ben I’m curious, if your just starting out a business and you feel like the creative type and not the quantitive kind, hoe important should I become in understanding the numbers? I know it’s valuable but Gary v, says we should focus on our strengths but do you think this is something one should definitely take some time to practice and get good at? And how? Have you spent time developing your understanding of finance?
I know you weren't asking me but here's my thoughts if you'd like. I would take a course to help you to understand the fundamentals of the quantitative aspects to your business, like finances etc. My dad owns multiple businesses, and while he hires other people to manage these elements for him, he told me he made sure to learn the basics about those things first. 1st because it's just good info to know if you own a business, but 2nd because it's important to understand those elements of your business so that you don't risk having the wool pulled over your eyes when you hire someone. If you hire someone to do a job that you know nothing about, you won't have any idea whether they're doing a good job of it or not. They might be making amateur mistakes that a hired professional shouldn't be making, but you don't know any better. Also if you're just starting out in a small business, unless you have a big budget already, there's a good chance you won't be able to afford to hire a lot of people, and so much of that work will fall on you until you are able to expand. Hope these ideas help a little!

I use ClickUp and Microsoft OneNote for organising projects and lists. Never tried Notion, looks similar to ClickUp.
