This camera is my daily camera paired with my RED Komodo. I've used this camera for a month now on productions and weddings. I built a cinema rig style build to be used on sets.

Smallrig is not answering my multiple mails about the hdmi cable clamp. Do you have the reference to be more precise with them please ?

R7 is crazy good value!
That side handle is nice. In the past I've used my old metal flash bar to give me more stabilization when shooting video in the past. But that cage looks nice and helps protect the body. Now I need a cage for my 90D as well.

Do you know what quick-release plate you have mounted on the side of your cage in this video? Vertical video is a MUST for me, but I don't know what I need to purchase in order to get a plate on the side of the cage in need of a vertical mount. Any feedback greatly appreciated, thanks!

I planned on getting the R7 as it's close to 1000$ cheaper where I live. On the contrary, after researching for a while, I concluded that Sony's FX30 would be a much better choice, as I am not very much into photography. I decided to save and wait for the FX30, but watching your video makes me reconsider things again. I'd be happy if you let me know what you think of that. Aw, and you have a new sub, BTW.

The Canon R7 is my A camera with my 90D is my B camera. I love my R7 it hardens back to my first Canon T3i Rebel. But the R7 is much more powerful and the small body is easy to handle without being to heavy. I'll have toblook up that cage for it.

How’s the rolling shutter for you? I shoot mainly video and the rolling shutter is pretty bad. I’m not sure if it’s because I’m using all manual lenses. Have you had this experience?
Yes rolling shutter is noticeable on this camera. The read out is not very fast I believe in the 20s

Would this be good for Instagram food reels? If so which lens do you recommend?
Canon RF 35mm i heard is really nice. Also it has a macro mode so that could come in handy with up close shots of food. My favorite lens is 15-35mm 2.8 but be warned its pricey

Unfortunately no, at the time of this video there was very little cages available

No, camera controls are only available on camera or lens

The major problem is when we attach an external monitor with the r7 , the camera’s screen gets turned off. But canon can get rid of this issue with the future firmware updates .
Why bother with the monitor if you can’t control the camera while using it?

Are the 1080 modes also available in 10bit?
Sure, but only in c-log. Neutral profile is always 8 bit
@@cameranerdsmedia i care more about 10 bit than 4k I think the sony fx 30 has the possibility to shoot 10bit 1080 seems the better option anyway comparing it to the r7
@@balisbest Correction canon shoots 10biit 1080 as well anything in clog 3 will be 10bit

S5ii is crazy good! I would go that route if you are not invested in canon lenses already

Hello! i need your help if is it possible..
Recently i sold my Lumix S5 because i don't like so much the AF and also, is not-necessary ( to me ) have an a fullframe camera.. ( atleast, at the moment )
So, like i said, i sold it, and then , now i have money to get another camera..
I am looking for the best money/quality camera, as usual.. that's what all we want..
Then, watching YT vídeos i find this one with 2 of cameras i can buy, Canon Eos R7 and Sony Zve10..
I can buy the sony about 650€ plus 500 more or less about 11mm f1.8 lens.. 1150€ +/-
Then the Canon is about 1550€ body+18-150mm+EF adaptor + 2battery extra. ( i want to sold the 18-150mm after then buy the 16mm f2.8 )
What do you think.. wich one do you recommend more..
The money is not the problem because i sold the S5 more than the price of the canon.. so i can buy one of this without problem..

Weird off subject inquiry, but what yaw'll think about a C300 Mark II as a B cam to the R7. I think that's kinda like a long lost forgotten gem of a video camera tbh. I think the main take away from it, and I know this sounds retarded, but it makes your production crew look even more established lol. With one or even two C300 Mark II's just off to the side and Bcams or BTS cams, the set just looks beefy lol, and they are pretty cheap now-a-days.
Absolutely right on Davinci. I made the switch 5 years ago from Adobe. Never looked back. As a matter of fact, I messed around and used it the other week, was just at friends place, and I nearly threwup in my mouth from using Adobe. I can't believe people pay monthly to use that crap. It's pathetic and slow AF.
It seems counter-intuitive to use as B-cam a camera that is bulkier, more expensive (almost double the R7, even used) and more user-intensive than the A-cam. If it's just for show any other cheaper C model can do the trick
