Nijat Vs Hikaru / Candidates Chess Tournaments 2024

The 2024 Candidates Tournament determines who will challenge current world champion Ding Liren for the world champion title
_ Players compete according to a round robin system (all against all) back and forth
_ Playing time is 120 minutes for the first 40 moves, followed by an additional 30 minutes for the rest of the game. There is also an increment of 30 seconds starting from the 41st move.
_ Players cannot agree on a draw before move 41
The player with the highest number of points is the winner

The prize pool for the 2024 Candidates Championship is €500,000, distributed as follows:
First place: €48,000 (and the right to face current GM World Champion Ding Liren)
Second place: €36,000
Third place: €24,000
€3,500 for every half point the player gets.
In the event of a tie, the prize is divided equally between the tied players.
Play place
The 2024 Candidates Tournament will be held at the Great Hall in Toronto, Canada. For the first time, both the men's and women's categories will play simultaneously and in the same place.
