Legit did this against my friends gargant before and he asked how many attacks xD
It's unfortunate that every Seraphon player loves the concept of lizards riding dinosaurs, and every rules writer seemingly loves the idea of perched frogs waving their arms.
I want an oldblood on a carnosaur to be double the points or more and as devastating as they are in the lore.

Sure, there are numbers and game impact to consider when reviewing the Ark of Sotek, but you're forgetting the sheer joy caused by the mental image of a dinosaur releasing a giant box of snakes :)

I’d probably run as much cavalry as possible as I think dinosaurs riding bigger dinosaurs looks cool as fuck and the rule of cool is arguably the best and most important rule in wargaming.

Regarding the engines, i think you could make a nice tarpit with 2 or 3 of them. Their cosmic engine isnt capped at once per turn army. So with a 3+ for a d3 heal, you could easily be healing each other each turn. Throw in a hero (like the troglodon) that has the etheral trait, and with the +2 health formation, you could be holding on for a while or hold up the opponent. Or put a engine next to a ark bastildon for it to be each each too.
This was my plan! If its not good, take more until it is haha
I have plans on getting into Warhammer and this is the faction pack I plan on getting first.
The Itzl 'quest' seems really tricky to accomplish in smaller games.

Somebody else said this in another video, the Skink riding the Trog is underrated. You can buff him to both ignore rend and heal an additional D3 every turn (on top of the D3 he already heals every turn), thus making him a very powerful anvil and range extender for Kroak or Slann.
On 12 health that's not true but understand the idea
Could be 14 though with battle formation
It’s good but not enough. Weight of attacks will tip it over or they’ll ignore it and go kill kroak 💀
@@thehonestwargamerstreams He's a base 14 health with a 4+ save, so the plan would be put "being of the stars" and "incandescent retrices" on him, run him up with Aggradons right into combat, use the range extension from Slann to cast Empowered Celestite with the skink on one of the aggradon units, then watch the carnage. If he can get into combat, he gives a -1 to hit to up to 3 units on a 3+.
I guess we'll see, I'm gonna run him and find out 🙂
Ran some Hunters of Huanchi with Bolas in Shadowstrike formation and it was gross.
They'd move to 10" shooting range, shoot, debuff the charge roll, then move 1d6 away which kept putting them out if max charge distance from their debuff target.
I'm going to test Elthwins Thorns RoR. With their 3+ teleport, ability to move d6 after shooting in any turns shooting phase (covering fire), and ability to further debuff charges for every damage done seems like a good compliment to Shadowstrike formation lists
Love the videos bud, my first impressions are;
1. Saurus warrior save buff needs an errata.
2. EoTG might be a good tech piece for nurgle/tzeench as its points arent too bad.
3. RIP astrolith bearer.
4. I want a seraphon-specific manifestation.
5. I think the carnosaur might be play better than we both believe.
Kroxigor warspaned will be better in a list focused around them but the regular will suit a combined armed force better IMO.
Overall i like what we got, some monsters are too expensive and i wish the asterism mini-missions were a tad more flexible. Looking forward to playing this edition and watching your vids.
What needs to be erratad about the Saurus Warriors?
@TheStargateNerd the rule as written means it's impossible for a reinforced unit to get the save buff as each model needs to be on the objective. All it needs to be is the unit controlling it rather than all individual models.

Hi Rob! Just wanted to say a big thanks for all your AoS 4 content so far - as a long time 40k player looking to make the switch over its been incredibly helpful and I've been waiting for this Lizard Wizards video for a while! Apologies if I'm missing something obvious with this one - but for the Seraphon Spearhead is there a reason my Saurus Warriors don't have the Reinforcements ability when a lot of other Spearhead infantry do? Is the rest of the box good enough that they don't need it or something?
I have used kroak in a game and he did do work. That MW spell plus his ranged was really good. I did pair him with a troglodon for some extra coverage with a unit that can take a hit.
Also a bit of a glowup you missed on the raptadon hunters is they can make a charge after the second attack from the deadly cohesion ability. This is different from 3.0 rules where they had not just stay back. It means a single group of hunters can just go in for some extra damage if needed.
I want to have a Seraphon force that focuses on units with companions. Carnosaurs (really expensive now), Aggradons, and Raptadons.
Good review. Got a heavy Saurus and Krox list I’m taking to a tournament this weekend. Hopefully it punches as hard as I think it does.

@@mikelmazzi7978 it did hit very hard. Only issue I had was I didn’t take enough fast units to do battle tactics. Brick of reinforced Kroxigors and reinforced Agradons slapped. I killed a lot but couldn’t score. I felt like my list was 90% there.

the Saurus warriors ability is bad atm.
every model have to be on the objective and you have to control the objective.
so it is hard to get a whole unit onto an objective.
when adding control score it is to the unit not the model, so if we have a unit of 10 Saurus Warriors with 1 Control each, a Banner and we get 3 from Astrolith bearer, the unit have a Control of 14 in total.
I think "further the great plan" should also turn on if you meet the requirement by the start of tuen 4 or 5. It would give a bit more flexibility as it is a bit too restrictive right now. It would mean that you get more chances to complete the objective The slaan one would be unchanged, but the defensive one would be greatly improved.
Quetzl is great against alpha strike. It's generally a choice between that or movement and then picking one of the other 2 later if you can.
There is one datasheet in this army and it is the Kroxigor Warspawned
A very good analysis, some good suggestion and of course great insight. Totally agreed on the WaRspawned Krox - not warp btw, we hate skaven as you know ! - have mind blowing potential although they do have some mediocre mobility if non existent ( we can work around it with the spells etc though )
Hey Rob, love the content but got a question? I think a Slann is an auto include in my 2k point list. He is a 3 cast wizard with a board wide unbind, but my LGS is starting a path of glory next week and worried he costs too much for 1k points. What do you think?

But isn't it hard to deny a spellcast when you have no buff on your roll to do so. The Slans only have +1 on casting rolls and the asterism only buffs casting es well. i always felt at a disadvantage when the obr that i fought had their buffs also for their dispelling rolls and sop on.

If the lizards had any hero phase teleport I'd be tempted to yeet a +4 to cast Kroak behind enemy lines to fire off 9d3 mortals at the opponents support pieces. Would it be good? Almost certainly not. But by the Old Ones it would be hilarious
I think you missed the fact that Kroxigor Warspawned only get the extra damage if the skinks are in combat while also being within 12'' of them

Honestly.... i dont mind the direction they've taken the faction. Even merging Coalesced and Starborne. But i have two major bugbears.
They've stripped bite rolls and teleporting (staple Seraphon abilities) back to battle formations, so we have to pick between them... and then made them bad. I thought at first that our BF were bad because armies across the game have been nerfed... but then i saw that Nighthaunt literally have Celestial Translocation, but without the 12" restriction. And also without the 3+ dice roll. Ours is completely unreliable, comparatively.
Second bugbear, Kroak isn't worth it. They made him less survivable (Dead for Innumerable Ages is now rolled at the end of the turn, not per phase). His +2 to cast now doesnt apply to unbinding. His spells have been nerfed, and then they raised his point cost. Again, i thought it was because wizards across the board have been nerfed, but Teclis is still crazy and they dropped his points by over 150!
You're correct that Kroak would be amazing at casting endless spells because of his 3 power, but the slann does the same at 180 points cheaper.
I dont want to sound like a negative nancy. I DO like what they've done with the melee units. They seem like they'll be plenty fun to play with. But those 2 points rankle a bit. I only just painted my Kroak model, and i was hoping that he'd be well balanced this edition, instead he seems to have swung from OP to unusable. Hoping that I've missed something or that an errata fixes my frustrations.

You can walk across manifestations, so they can't block you in @9:00
You can move through them, but can't end a move on top of them, so unless the whole unit can completely clear the base of the manifestation, you can't move through it.
