@casiomusicgear
I got this keyboard recently and been playing around with it and familiarizing myself with its sounds and keybed. I LOVE IT.
First of all, the speakers on this thing sound absolutely beautiful. GREAT quality. I even took it with me recently to a gig to try out and it was loud enough to project to a 50-people crowd outdoors.
It was quite easy to put it in my car and carry it to the outside setup.
The piano sounds round and gentle and the keybed is not noisy at all. Super comfortable to play beginner to advanced level repertoire.
All in all, it's a great keyboard especially for that price range. I hope you get a chance to try it at a store and see for yourself.

Thanks Leon! I bought one a few months ago and I'm happy with it. The key action is a little lighter than Roland and Yamaha but it still plays really nice. The size and weight are great for gigs!
Thank you for your comment. Glad you're enjoying your casio keyboard, and I do agree with you that it's a bit lighter, but for me it was still super comfortable to play. :) Cheers!
Oh my God thats some of the most beautiful playing ive ever heard Bro . I have the same model the action is so good.
Aside from the unboxing, I just love seeing you play
Thank you! Really appreciate it.
Great performance! And the Casio sounded great to it.
Thanks so much 🙏🏼
Great demo and playing brother, I could listen all day!
Great Playing as usual my freind
Shared on my channel again.
Thank you so much Tamir 🤍🙏🏼
Beautiful 😍
Thank you Sarmad 🙏🏼

Thank you! :) Just following up to see if you got your keyboard yet and what are your thoughts?
It sounds amazing!!!
Very well made review sir!
Thank you brother 🙏🏼
Beautiful!
Amazing review! Are the speakers so much better than the 3000? The 3100 costs a lot more in my country. Around 20% more expensive.
Oi amigo ! Eu sou do BRASIL , você toca muito , lindo!!! . Me tire uma duvida sobre este piano pxs3100, ele faz camadas na mão esquerda e camadas na mão direita ? Obrigado.
WOW your performance!
Thank you so much. :)
Great video. How does it hold up as a controller for virtual pianos and instruments? I am considering this board because of the action and pitch wheel. I have a great Arturia synth controller and wanted something more piano-like and 88keys but without the super heavy feel of the NI SL88 or the Artruia 88. Do you find it is responsive enough as a midi controller for virtual pianos and synths?
Thank you!
I love it as a midi controller and in fact I still use it in the other studio.
Que piano mais lindo!!!!
Hello,
thank you for this demonstration and review. Quite helpful to finally decide which piano suits my need.
Just have a quick question. Does the arranger section support custom arrangements? I mean in a case I want to create custom styles for accompaniment.
Thanks
Thank you for your wonderful comment, and I apologize for the late response. I believe this keyboard has about 200 accompaniment modes in different styles and genres and ensemble combos that fit your needs. Hope that helps.
For your improv at the end (which was mindblowing btw!),
did you use the "default piano preset" that loads up first when you turn the piano on?
("1 : ConcertGrand" or something similar is the name I think? Was it that 1st iano tone?)
It sounded much better than I expected.
Thank you!
I don't have this keyboard as I upgraded to the S7000 but I believe that was the first piano if I remember correctly. Thank you very much.
Thanks for very useful demo . Please can i connect an electric guitar with this keyboard in audio in hole?.
Hi Ahmed. Thanks man. I’m actually not sure, but I will look into it and let you know as soon as I find out.
I read somewhere that there's lag when connected as a midi controller. Have you experienced this?
Also, your skills and playing style are out of this wolrd! Mad respect 🙌
Not at all. It's no different than Kawai VCP or any other digital keyboards I've ever had. Thank you very much!
Хорошее пиано и чистая игра, зачёт!
Which one do you prefer between px-s 3100 and DGX 670?
For gigging and portability I feel 3100 has the edge even better software support and respectful polyphony with equally appreciable tones/voices but for the amount of tones/voices and sheer customisation options the DGX 670 also to add 256 poly and is the king only down side is its size weight and biggest letdown of them all is lack of dedicated L-R audio output. Touch response is a subjective matter and I personally like the privia's touch response better than the Yamaha GHS one.
What are the piano sounds like compared to the px s3000? Have they been upgraded? Are the samples better or the same?
Hi Jon. The pianos are the same in 3000 and 3100, but they made upgrades on the speakers and Bluetooth connectivity. And it has more DSP features. But I’m their new Privia models, they made huge upgrades to the sounds and design. Completely fresh take!
Like!very pro uploading! see u aronud.
Thank you so much :)
Hi, thanks for the video! Please, which out line cable did you use, TS or TRS?
hi, i have a question..i just got this today. the cable that connect to computer/ audio interface isn`t included , so you need to get it , seperately..right? i bought this digital piano mainly for playing by itself but also for the MIDI...
It works wonderfully as a midi controller too. But yes you need to get a separate usb cable to connect to your computer / daw
Does anyone know the keyboard of the Yamaha CP73? It it as good as the the Casio PX3100?
I personally think they don't fall into the same categories. Both keyboards are amazing, it just depends on your needs. Since I play more piano, I really like the piano tone and feel on the casio, but if I wanted synth feel and control over the sounds, I would go with the Yamaha CP. Hope that helps.
Nice! Compared to other keyboards you've owned, is the PX-S3100 tough and durable?
Thank you Aroldo!
It has been so far. I have been abusing this keyboard for the past week and playing heavy repertoire on it 😅 it seems to be standing the torture.
Salut leon !
Quel différence en terme de song fais tu entre casio px s3100 et x s6000. Song de piano précisément. Merci.
Hey good to hear that.
I am very confused because thepianoforever says the piano is trash bc of the black keys being a bit lighter and so you would form bad habbits
But today in the musichouse I just gravitated to this compared to roland fp30x and kawai es120. I just had so much fun with all these organs and quality sounds, whereas I had no fun with the others and I liked the action.
So I ordered one and will pick it up on monday
But now I am scared that the action is trash and that I will form bad habbits
You know I am not a pianist but a guitarist and 5 yrs ago I started playing a bit keyboard and recorded so much stuff, especially organs. And this piano gives me the creativity that I had back then but with wighted keys..
Hope it will be good refarding the action
Honestly I've been playing these keyboards for the past 2 years, and that has never been an issue for me.
That song was played beautifully, is it your original score?
Thanks so much! Unfortunately I don't have score for this. It was improvised. But if time allows, I will create sheet music and upload to my website.
Please let me know if/when you do. I was blown away, I would have never guessed that was improvised. So talented.
Wow thanks and great video Leon. What's that below your computer keyboard and mouse?
Thanks man, it's the logitech K845 Mechanical Illuminated keyboard and logitech mx master mouse
What’s the improvement compared to the 3000 , the previous model ?
Mostly software stuff... it has more features in arpeggiator section and more effects like resonance and cutoff. The S3000 is discontinued.
@@LeonThomasian I got the 3000 last week as it went on sale cause of the 3100. Thank you for the review
How good is this keyboard compare with your kawai?
Two different monsters.
Kawai VPC1’s touch is a bit heavier and closer to a real hammer action due to its massive size and longer keybed however you can only use it as a midi controller and has no buttons/wheels/faders. It’s also much more expensive. I still really love it when I’m working on piano projects especially when I’m aiming for that authentic piano feel.
Casio PX-S3100 is more affordable (at $850 I think), it has built-in speakers and really nice quality sounds you can easily take it to gigs or practice any repertoire on it. There’s been a huge controversy about its keybed action (black keys weigh differently than white keys), however I never felt that it bothered me and I’ve been using it quite a lot as a multi purpose keyboard. It’s a stand alone keyboard rather than needing a computer to operate. It has some of the best built-in piano sounds.
What does the action feel like on the 3100 compared to a Nord Stage 4?
To be honest, I haven't played Nord keyboards that much that so I could make an accurate statement. I can tell you that Nord Grand had a similar keybed to that of the Kawai VPC1 which is a heavier keybed if that's what you prefer. You really have to play them to get a feel for it.
The early Casio Privias were very sluggish and the response was slow.
So the first Casio I tried was the S3000 which was very playable. In fact I recorded my first Casio video on this channel with that one. Not sure how older models were.
How is the Rhodes sound?
I honestly like them, but they sound a little better on the new privia series. More detailed!
can it play bluetooth audio, from phone,so can use as backing tracks
Yes it can.
Can we record midi and sound in daw?
czcams.com/video/IYyAUzEKTLs/video.html
Yes you can :)
hi - are you just using mono/left out? I can only see one cable..
yes at the time I only recorded this in mono and then realized it later :/ it works fine in mono when you're playing with a band/ensemble, but definitely use both cables to get a richer sound when you're solo
@@LeonThomasian your playing is virtuoso btw!
@@nizman1000 thank you very much :)
is it really necessary to include opening a box -- fair enough putting legs on etc.
I feel like I needed to show the contents of the box.
I would think a demo should have had more interesting than someone sitting playing WHAT ????
that's called a review (in depth review)
