This needs to be in a 12.5” barrel. 6mm ARC is still hugely effective at that barrel length. I’ve got an AR chambered in 6 ARC at that length.

I have the mossberg mvp in 224 Valkyrie. Loved that caliber in a bolt gun. Not the greatest in a gas gun how ever.. might have to try the 6 ARC next for a walking hunting rifle. 😉🇺🇸🔥
Oh man, Q G-Sling is so money. I just got a Shocker. So many complements on it.
1000 yards is going to be hard with a 16” barrel. Definitely doable but you’ll be working for it. I would buy this rifle in a heartbeat if it was a 24” 1:7.5 twist. That would be a match winner especially in Mammoth or any of the more active precision matches.
I talked to Q about it before with no luck. You have more of a history with them so I would greatly appreciate it if you could bring this up for me lol.
Hey kit i just talked to tag firearms and they will probably NOT be making 6 arc bolts for the mini fix due to the fireing pin size. Obviously this sucks because id be the first in line to swtch my mini fix to a 6 arc 😢 so i guess count yourself lucky

22ARC the new hotness
I've been trying to decide between building an ar upper for hog hunting in 6 arc and 6.5 grendel for a couple months now. Still not sure which direction i want to go. The possibilities with arc look great but there are so many more factory offerings in grendel. I'll eventually get into reloading but the grendel seems to edge out arc by a hair for hunting.

@loudnoises4627 I'm in California. I have to use lead free ammo for hunting. Been looking at the hornady cx as well as the Barnes and hammer copper bullets too once I get into reloading.

I'd take a hard look at all the info TPH podcast has put out on the 6 arc. They're smashing hogs and deer all the time with it and it seems like the industry is getting behind it in a big way.
What caliber was your mini fix originally?
6ARC was designed and optimized to fit in an AR. When you don’t have to fit in an AR what’s the point? Not criticizing is it really that great?

6ARC is so much fun to shoot, even if it is expensive comparted to 5.56. Wish more companies made ammo for it. Still think the military should have went with 6ARC and kept retro fitted the M4 instead of 6.8.
The military is contracted with 6arc.

6ARC will never feed as well in an AR as .223 does. The magwell is too narrow, the feeding geometry is less optimal, it's always going to be more finnicky.
There's a cartridge called 6Max which is coming out soon with SOLGW. Based on the 350 legend, slightly more powerful than 6ARC, and can actually be double-stacked through an AR magwell with 350 legend mags. Should feed better in an AR than 6ARC.
what loads are you seeing for the 6Max? the ones i'm seeing the 6Arc beats. Both in grain weight and velocity.
@@smalltowncop4907 Right now I think BC Precision only have numbers published for semi-autos, so the pressures are lower than those you can find for 6ARC loads.
They'll be virtually ballistic twins, but it has a grain more case capacity so for the handloaders the sticky bolts will begin happening later than 6ARC.
I’ve got over 3000 rounds through my 6ARC gas gun and never had one feeding issue…. Ever. I’ve only used the ASC mags and Duramags. Never one issue.
