Awesome job! Nice banjo, I really want one similar to that.
Thank you Mason! Yes, I really like it. It's a Recording King. You are an awesome banjo player by the way! God bless!
@@elisabethemory Thank you, God Bless!
is your name have a question for you
I was playing with a Bluegrass band back in the 2000s and we were on a local morning TV show promoting a Bluegrass festival. We had gone to a commercial break just before the end and our banjo player handed the banjo to the TV girl. He told her "pluck this string, this string and that string." She did and he said "do it again." She did. He said "do it again but faster." She did and by the time we came back from the commercial break she was playing a little banjo roll. She kept playing as she wrapped up and we were out. You never saw such a big smile in your life. She just kept saying "I played the banjo! I played the banjo!"
You are an inspiration I love that you have been only playing for a month a year from today you’re going to be excellent keep playing kid
Thank you! I've actually been playing for over two years now! :)
for a month or so, that is mighty good.
Thanks! I've been playing for over two years now!
Getter done country gal good for you from the heart🇺🇸😘
I'm impressed girl. That's great!!! I bought me a banjo yesterday... I played guitar since I was five... I'm 70 now!! All he got to do is practice practice practice!! I'm like you. The internet is full of information to learn from! Keep on picking!!❤
That's awesome Pamela! Keep it up, and keep practicing! I have some lessons posted here on the channel if you would like to check them out! God bless you. ♥️
Keep up the good work!
Great and full of self confidence
Fantastic...A lefty like me I'm just learning too...I'll be following you for sure..🎉
Keep it up! 👏 That is fantastic that you can play left handed!!! My camera is actually flipped around on "selfiemode" so I'm not left handed. Thank you for watching!! God bless. 😄🪕
For "a little over a month" your performance is just great....it tooks me at least 4 months to play cripple in that speed. Congrats Elisabeth. 👍
Amazing. Love that. Just bought a Grafton banjo. Gonna try and copy you. Give me two years and I might make it. Love your accent too.
Keep it up!! 🙌🪕 Also, thank you! Where does it sound like I'm from?
That’s fantastic! I’m so jealous!😊
Hang in there Mrs. E, on the right track! Muscle memory does not come natural to any of us!
Great job!
Thank you! I've been playing for a little over two years since this video. I still have a lot to learn, but I've progressed in a lot of areas! I have a video of my first entire year on the banjo here on the channel! 😄🪕
Great job!! I also just picked up the banjo at 61 years old and having a blast learning. But I sure can't play that fast, yet.
Keep up the good work! You've got this!! 🙌🪕
AWESOME! You're a natural!
BEAUTIFUL….❤
I don’t know how I missed it…!!! That was one of the first songs I learned when I was taking lessons as a kid…..!!!!
Very well done! You have the basics of rhythm, meter and melody down pat. You might explore “Banjo in the Hollow” by the Dillards. It’s based on that up the neck interlude you played. Good luck!
@@27astroman Hey! Thank you so much!
I am still impressed with how far you've come and how fast you picked it up! Keep it up!
play as slow as you want till YOU like it. over and over again. Practice makes perfect.
Well done!
I can hear I'm not the only one scratching the banjo with the picks. Still only a week into my journey. Nice job!
You've got this! Keep it up! 🙌🪕
Elisabeth,I am really impressed! For one month out,you are doing fantastic.Very smooth and I promise you, the speed and accuracy will come. You'll be all over the neck before you know it!
Thank you so much!! I've been playing for two years now! 😄🪕 I'm still learning something on the banjo all the time, though! I have some more recent videos here on the channel. Thanks again. God bless and Merry Christmas! ❤️🎄
Great job. I’m a guitarist just started banjo 3 weeks ago. I got some catching up to do!😜
Yay!! 🎸😀
Great
Hello Elisabeth. I started playing guitar at eight and the banjo at 17. Cripple Creek was the first tune that I learned. You’re doing great.
That's awesome!! You are a wonderful banjo player! 👏🪕
Great👍
One year later.... I'm just now watching your video and want to commend you on the clarity and accuracy after just one month! Well done! I recall the first days of my banjo journey (pre CZcams and internet) learning from books and those first songs that sound like banjo pickin' is what keeps you at it. I hope you are still picking and will check your videos to see progress. Happy pickin', keep up the good work. The speed and complexity will come with time but it's evident you've started off focusing on clarity and timing. That's clearly cripple creek and sounded like it!
Hello Dan! Thank you for the compliment! I've been playing for a little over two years now. You can check out some of my more recent videos! God bless you.
Cripple creek was the first song i learned over 20 years ago. You were great! Good tempo and the ending was cute! Keep it up❤❤
Thank you! That's awesome!! 😄 I've been playing for over two years now since I posted this video! Thanks for watching! ♥️
Great Job, 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I’m working on it too. I’m learning using Eli Gilbert’s 30 days of Banjo. Well Done.
Great job, only 1 month, you did fine, keep it up girl.
Thank you!! I've actually been playing for over two years now! You can see my more recent videos here on the channel! 😄🪕
sounds awesome !!!! well done !!! I like it !!!
One Month? Note for note... I'm very impressed! I can't wait to see what you're doing by February!
I've actually been playing for two years now!! You can see some more recent videos here on my channel. Thank you! God bless, and Merry Christmas! 🪕😄🎄
Strong work Miss Elizabeth! I been playing for 50 years or so and I believe you got it. Stay with it smooth it out a little and you will be good to go. Get up with as many folks that will play a tune with you as you can find somebody whose playing speaks to you and learn some of their licks and phrasing. Eventually you will develop your own style. Good luck and keep on pickin
Thank you for the comment!! That's awesome that you've been playing for so long! I've actually been playing for over two years now. I enjoy doing it, and you are right....playing with people is the best way to learn and improve! Thanks again, and God bless! ♥️🪕
Beautiful, and that's a wonderful instrument, too!
Wow! Just a month? That was A W E S O M E. Keep on pickin!
Well done. Keep after it. You keep very good time for a newbie. The metronome/click is your friend. Keeps you honest.
Yes, a metronome is a musicians best friend!
That is some mighty fine pickin' young lady 🎉
this just popped up on my recommended on a different account. Can't believe this was 2 years ago!
I am self taught on Banjo too and I just started a few days ago. I just subscribed and I do some music stuff on my channel as well.
You’re a natural, I give guitar lessons and the first thing I tell them is when you first start guitar or anything you’re as bad as you’ll ever be ! If you keep going and don’t give up you are going to get better!!!
Hey, thank you!! I appreciate the kind words. That's a good way to look at it! I've been playing for two years now!
No such things as a natural. She practiced a skill that was important to her and got a lot better at it.
GREAT JOB !!
Great job! Keep working on it! You’ll be Awesome!
Excellent job Elizabeth you have been playing a while by now so I guess you’ve improved quite a bit.
Thank you sir!! Yep, two years now!!
Saw your channel for the first time today. If that is only one month of playing I'll be needing to subscribe to see what you are doing now 2 years later. Excellent for only one month.👍
Great job!
Thank you Jim!!
Awesome. Gotta ask… what is your practise time like? Per day? Per week? I am just getting started.
@@Bobcagon Hello! Thank you! I've been practicing a LOT lately just because I'm Preforming in public for the first time Saturday. But I'd say if you're a beginner, 20 to 30 minutes a day maybe 5 to 6 days a week would be great! As you progress, you can move it up to 40 minutes of practice a day! Thank you for your question, if you need to know anything else, feel free to ask! God bless you!
That’s really good. Keep it up. I’m learning the banjo also.
Awesome!! Keep it up!
Great job!!
Great job
Good job! Thats awesome 😎

I remember those early days. You got it.
Amazing stuff for a month❤
Thank you!! 😊

That’s a damn fine job. Keep it up.
Are you kidding me? You are amazing!! Thank you for sharing your talent. Keep up the sweet music and I'll keep listening!
Thank you so much! ❤️ God bless you!!
Awesome.
That was great.
Nice! I hope you’ve kept at it.
I sure have! It's been a fun journey for sure, and I thank the Lord, and CZcams for it! I have more videos on my channel! Thanks, and God bless you Cal. 😄👍🪕
Awesome 🎉 keep it up 👍
Fantastic, in only one month!
Good on you !
Those pulls are great, its good to start off learning to pull down when pulling off because it gives it that "twang" Awesome!
Doing really good 👍
Outstanding playing.
I have had a banjo for a long time, but never stayed with it to learn. Now, much older, and trying a lot harder now. If I don't learn this time, then I will just get rid of it. It is a lot harder to learn as you age, but I really enjoy it. Love banjo music. Do you have any newer videos playing now?
I have a lot of newer videos here on my channel! Don't give up! I have a beginner banjo lessons series on the channel. I'll continue to show rolls, chords, etc.
One month? I think you’re doing great! Keep it up. I picked up the banjo about 2 1/2 months ago and I’m not doing that well, of course I’m about 2 1/2 times your age so my brain doesn’t work like it used to. But, that said, I think you are doing very well.
Thank you so much!! 😄 I'm making a beginner banjo course on the channel to help people learn. 🪕👍
Great job Lizzie. I bet you’re pickin’ like JD now honey. I bought a banjo about 18 months ago. I bought Bill Evans book Bluegrass Banjo for Dummies because… well you know, first and could play everything in 3 months but that was after 50 years of Classical and Jazz guitar so had a very good right hand a could play all the Rolls with little difficulty now there is little repertoire I can’t cope with having obtained Earls method and Song book BUT also Janet Davis’ Back up banjo too.
I am so glad I got me a Pan. It’s the humanly accessible instrument on Earth that makes playing the conceptions of boys Carolina a pure joy. I got and trade in my Nationality quick. What a wonderful instrument hey
CZcams algorithm distribution deliberately obscures good stuff, I'm shocked to have found ya and happy that I did. I love it.
Thank you!! I'm glad you like it. :)
Great job. I want to take up banjo but afraid it'll end up holding dirty laundry...lol
Well, I'd definitely give it a try if you're interested!! There're many awesome channels that help me learn, like Jim Pankey, William Nesbitt, Willow Osborne, Eli Gilbert, and more! I also have a few lessons and tutorials, and I'm going to continue posting instructional videos. :) You could start with a less expensive banjo, and see if you like it. If you do, you could get something else.
well done !!
Way to go!
You are playing it better than I did after one month . good job!
Good pig and young lady keep up the good work the speed will come to you keep playing slow what are you can hit every note that you’re supposed to I’ve been playing since 1974. I also have a Stelling stag, horn banjo. Sounds good keep up the good work.
Thank you so much!! I've actually been playing for a little over two years now! This is an old video. You can watch more of my recent videos here on my channel. 😄🪕
That was awesome!! I’m still learning it😭😭
Mighty fine! Honestly, I think most modern players play the traditional songs TOO fast. Cumberland Gap is another example. You have a nice steady roll, though!
Thank you!
Thats awesome! After just one month and self taught?
CZcams says this was posted a year ago, so i can only imagine how good you are now. :)
Thank you very much!! I've definitely learned a lot more songs and techniques since then!
GOOD STUFF ..CANADA
Keep up the good work gal you'll be amazing before you know it great job
Thank you!! I've actually been playing for over two years since I've made this video! You can check out my more recent videos here in the channel!
@elisabethemory you sound great enjoy watching your videos keep up the good work ❤️
