Great video , and like how you showing that your welding , and giving info also putting the weld close up Good point on body positioning like that also Not like other video where people just talking about I m a welder , and blah blah blah never show them welding when they talk about I'm out here on the job welding etc . In less you watching videos from a tech school Maybe there is video out there , but I haven't found one I like your. Your is 💯 , and I'll keeping coming back to learn more

@@TheWeldProfessor sir my problem is that the vertical weld always melts down
One problem with that weld you forgot to tack it on top so it don't slide of the pipe cuz it looks slick nice weld man
I've been retired for 6 years but I still like to strike an arc every day. Gotta weld something. Thanks for taking the time. I worked for a weld professor who would run you out of his shop for welding down hand, but I have found if you know how to handle a stinger you can weld anything any position. Keep on doing what you're doing.
In HS there was this kid... this kid did dimes, PERFECT dimes and sometimes he didn't wore the helmet and did perfect welds. His dad taught him how to weld at 5. and he was really humble. Nice btw
Oh you know me so well. Who told you?
One of the few who excels only by his talent, it is rare nowadays. Respect !!
FRICKIN DIMES!
That ladies and gents is an ARTIST.
Guys are talking about his energy and stuff. That’s a man that loves what he does!! Talk to anyone that enjoys what they do and the passion comes out! Keep it up man!!
@@TheWeldProfessor oh okay no worries man!
That bead looks really nice keep it up man
@Steel and Tree Design cause it's a free country and he's just as passionate about his religion as he is about his job ,he don't care if you like either ,just making a video for those who do, there's also a thumbs down button for people like you if you don't like it then use it otherwise make your own video an tell us how you don't have a religion or dont, it's still a free country bud
@Jeremy wtf are you trying to say? Makes no Damn sense 😂
EXCELLENTTT
Im teaching a friend how to weld, cant wait to show him this video tomorrow, I haven't made it out to the pipeline just yet - still a single hand welder, but soon enough. Props brother and thank you.
Man am I impressed by the passion this guy has for his trade. Thanks for the informative video!
Now there's a habit that just won't go away. Every time you strikes an arc, I blink and look off to the side. Well presented and thanks sharing.
I'm old experience (40 years) with a piece of paper from Hobart.....Very much enjoyed this young man's skill level and excitement....Your also a great instructor....Keep up the good work
you sir will be hated by plenty of lead welders on the other note have shown more information than what I've "learned" in welding school thx for sharing
I'm 37, My Dad Works for US Pipe welding up molds for pipe. I have a small 120 stick.....You just taught Me a ton on why I can't keep a bead traveling...Im teaching myself the start. Im actually boxing in my shed right now to be able to fabricate all types of.....buggies. I Appreciate it Man. GOD LOVE Man!!
Amen God bless you
I was a welder for 45years, the videos are a hoot. I can smell the burning flux from the sticks. Wally is the Man, Rock On or should I say Burn On.
Respect Allen
I really miss welding. I actually learned as an apprentice and later certified, on the Alaskan pipeline many years ago. The money helped me finish college.
Crap I have no idea how I got this old...
Nice to see someone else that just loves to weld.
Thanks for posting.
I was on the Alaska pipeline as well on the front end as a bead hand
getting old man, I never saw it comin
I'm a welder for 30 yrs. Yes...I miss that job...I created things on my tig...gas...mig and ark.
I know how you feel....sneaks up on you and before you know you're the creepy old man looking at young girls.....but in your mind you still feel like a young guy, just with a bit more wisdom.
We've seen a lot....and we are survivors if nothing else.
Fuck em if they can't take a joke..

I want to learn more idea about welding from you plz
Great video enthusiasm. You definitely love what you do it shows.I like how you stay humble and hate bragging Professor 😂.
Love your positive attitude Man. Welded for years myself until I retired, loved it every day. Once the Hood goes down, your the Boss. Was always satisfying to Stand back and admire what you created. Keep up the good work and that positive attitude.
Really dig your passion for your trade bro, I can hear your honesty through your teaching, really great things you're doing for the rest of the public by sharing top notch tips and advise. Peace bro.
Keep the videos coming. I like the way you show and explain your welding process.
Thank you and you bet
Thanks for the video. I'm a novice welder, and am always looking to learn more. I really appreciate your use of the grinder between passes. I've been told by some that if you need a grinder, you aren't a welder, but I see that the grinder is a tool to be used to improve the final product. Thanks for posting!
I do a fair amount of ranching......I needed a few steel corner posts and had a bunch of scrap 2.5 pipe laying around ....left over pieces from multiple projects through the years...so I stopped by here to shore up my pipe welding "skills" to patch together 80 plus inches of pipe to make braces with. Thank you sir, for your enthusiasm and excellent channel.
Oh heck yeah. Love hearing that
You had me wondering about your skill level at first, but you finished off about as pretty a weld as I did in my day, and that is saying something. Nice work. You've got the knack, and a lot of guys just never get it.
That is awesome instruction of great fundamental knowledge. I can see the pointers you made really helping a lot of people. Also very slick weld on small diameter fixed position work! Great energy and passion I am a grumpy old weldor. It is nice to see a young man with your level of skill that is not arrogant.
Thats what im talking about. Now thats a passionate welder. Great work my man.
Very good video... my grand father is a retired boiler maker and pipe fitter... as for me i am a fitter welder/ general engineer i appreciate your videos they are very inciteful man... appreciative big time fan from new zealand keep pumping these videos out dude...
This guy seems really humble. Great welder too. Respect!!
I love how hes in love with his job
I love how positive and professional he is
I love 👨🏭
That's a beautiful weld.
I couldn't believe when I first discovered welding that you could join two bits of metal together to it looked like they'd never been apart. I suddenly realized that with a welder and angle grinder you could make ANYTHING!
As an ear surgeon though I'm a bit worried that you don't wear hearing protection. All welders wear eye protection, and ears are no less precious!
Most welders wear earplugs. A hot spark in your ear is something you never forget.
Giving tips while actually on the job site. I like it! Applying these tips and knowledge to the real world and in the field. A great way to learn and teach imo.
That is a first class weld, neat uniform and tidy. Your explaining as you go tells me you know what your talking about. Excellent instructive video. cheers.
I also love what I do. As you know our work is one of the representations of our true characters. Great vid and energy.
Thank you
I’m sure it’s not the best, I’m not the best, I’m just me! Honest work man great video!
Great instructions. Have not welded in years but I did pass the test twice about 50 years ago. And I did learn from watching this. A little practice and I think I can do it again.
Hey Wally! You, sir, are what makes America Great! No BS, just good old fashioned hard work! Keep up the good work my friend!
Great demo buddy, thanks for sharing knowledge, may god keep blessing you .
Ive been following you on the gram for years, I love how inspiring you are. this makes we want to rig out so bad. we have very similar energy when its time to burn I feel very happy inside my heart and head. weld on brother!
😎👍
That passion shows on the beautifully done weld. Thank you.
I miss stick welding so much , I’ve been welding for 15 years professionally at the start I worked in ship yard on Ohio river pipe welding it was great money. Now I’m a rig welder with a gravey job I’ve gotten soft lol I miss my roots. Nice video
Slick work. Keep up the great work and be safe out there brother ✌🏼💪🏼
In starting of the video i thought "this man gonna do shit welding"
And at the end u proved that u r one of the best,, proud of u, Weldo bro
Solid job 👌. Your passion shows in your ability to not only teach but to execute.
Nice to see a man who is a pro. Because he cares to do it right !!!
Damn right “im sure it’s not the best, I’m just me, can’t be the best always, but you can TRY, but I ain’t no machine but you can try”. Bad ass homie!. In any occupation is TRY!.
Agreed this man couldn't have said it better as a 20 yr old kid with a dream of doing this kinda work using my own stuff truck welder traveling for a while before settling in I'm looking in to going to school now, just tired of being in a factory knowing I got potential to be anything I want and that man says things alot of these wanna be know it all fb welders should take notes from this guy and not be so critical about a person trying get the name of the game.
“So I never claimed to be a bad ass welder”
.....says the “Welding Professor “. 😂😂
Nice dimes.
Love your attitude. Not cocky but confident !!!
Always confidence never cockiness. People confuse it
Great Video, clear, precise and didn't waste my time.!! Two thumbs UP !
This bloke is so energetic and his weld was fast and it was a pleasure watching a true craftsman. Nearly all welds in the field are now TIG welded in Australia. Hardly any grinding and less repairs. With 6010's their is always the chance of worm holes and porosity.
I DID MY LAST WELDING 1992, THEN HAD A 20 PLUS YEARS IN FINANCE.in my day all the coded pipe buts had to be done with phillips 56s..PIPELINE WELDS WERE STOVED WITH FLEETS.im assuming these new electrodes for rooting are much superior than either of those ? The prof is quick and very competent..Andy UK 2019
My cert. was 6010 open root then buildup and cap with 7018.
@@gregorytimmons4777 Ah, im in the uk.
You don't claim to be a bad ass welder but you are man. Starting welding classes later tonight and this just hypes me up to learn more. Thanks for the video again and looking forward to the settings video. Cheers from Central California
And this is how we did it 20 years ago. This weld takes way too long, the weld is closed, but take an RX of it, and you are screwed. Good for beginners though. Look how he needs to clean after every weld: he HAS to, or slack wins the game.
Conclusion: this guy really knows how to weld with a Rod and he LOVES his job: He's not the best but he is just hilmself.
RESPECT!
Respect ! I ain't acting like I know it all I stay humble thank you
Today I learned something new.. Thanks for the demonstration Sir.. Keep up the good work.. Good welding👍👍👍👍👍

Your stick welds are better than some tig welds. You have a true passion for your skill.
Great video best information and explainaton thankyou
You sir get a subscribe! I'm some one who's trying to learn the profession and stuff like this is golden!!!!
Liked and subscribed. Not because I know how and what exactly to do and anything to offer,
But because any man with that much passion deserves it.
I respect that much love
Nice bud, finally some great PRACTICAL information on welding. Stance, the chicken wing, the feathering, even the suspender strap on the helmet you rigged up, everything is great information! Subbed, such a great channel full of great information.
nice set of dimes boss, come to B&G PIPELINE we need some good ones like you! all of us old heads getting out off the road an back home. 30 years doing what we do an u my friend show u are passionate about your work more than anyone I've ever met.

Nice job brother 👍
Damn good video wally. Keep it coming please! 👍
Thank you and YES YES
Awesome guide on how to do an position yourself, Great video keep up the great work.
I agree with most comments on here in which this guy has amazing energy and you can tell he loves what he does. You can also tell that the man knows what he's doing with his start stops but with all that being said, I'm surprised nobody else other than myself had noticed there was porosity in his root pass, his filler, as well as his cap had porosity. There was much more porosity in the filler pass and only noticed a few pinholes in the cap. This may be a project where porosity does not matter much but coming from a welder myself and in my opinion, it should not matter what you're doing, you should stick to shooting for no pin holes, cracks or contamination of any kind. With that being said again it still looked very good
Nice job there, lovely to see someone who has the capability to use stick welding. More of a dying art these days with the introduction of mig welding, keep your tip hot and have fun!
Phil Boardman Sad it’s so poorly looked on. All they want to do is sell $3000 + machines which are complicated and not weather friendly. Those old AC/DC welders last a lifetime, can be had for $300-500 and are downright CHEAP consumables. Strange to most, I find stick easier than MiG unless it’s super thin material.
MIG is just not applicable to the standard on many jobs. Flux Core wire is but stick is best outdoors in inclement weather.
Make more vids ! You’re a beast!
I am I am I got you
That look awesome. Congratulations. You are f... good man. Thanks for all the tips
I can't believe how easy the professor made that look.. And to compound my feelings of my own welding ability inadequacies, the professor goes on to say hes not the best welder in the weld at the end... Grrrr damn you weld professor! Please keep making these videos.. Your obvious enthusiasm, love of our trade and welding ability is inspirational mate. Peace
I got a ton coming
Hell yeah Wally! Makin that$$$

Saludos amigos.k buen trabajo m gustaría saber zoldar como este camarada.👍👍👍👍buen trabajo amigo.
That's a fine weld stacking the dimes.
Great mention on positioning your body, most people don’t get that at all and they can’t lay a steady bead because of it. Being comfortable is key. Good video!
You're Awesome! Thanks for the lesson.
