Imagine how mad Thor had to be, to smack the world serpent so hard he went back in time. That means Thor broke reality for a second.

Odin turning his son into fairy dust and his granddaughter into a cannonball signed his death warrant for me.
“Take Atreus and the mask and do not look back. My son trusts you, so I trust you.” Absolutely one of my favorite lines in the game. Shows his growth as a character and how much he believes in his son and his wife. Opening his heart to the world just like she said.
that "We Must Be Better" line is and always will be iconic
I love how Kratos used each of the weapons against Thor
Draupnir--Stabbing attack, then when each spearhead copy is commanded they can explode. Used to initially push Thor away.
Blades of Chaos--Kratos initially stabs them thru Thor's poisoned wound, intending to do as much damage as he can not only to Thor's weak point but also because the blades are kind of serrated, fit for cutting flesh and causing pain.
Leviathan Axe--Just as the intention for its creation, the balance against Mjolnir. He used it to block the hammer's attacks since it was mentioned to be made specifically against it, or to atleast tip the scales.

I think they were equal in power except that kratos had a more experience than Thor does since he has lived longer which gives him the edge. Kratos and Thor gave their all in this fight.
@@bronsonleach3573 Norse mythology is older than Greek Mythology just so you know. So I don't think Kratos is older. It's more like, Thor is not very clear in his head while Kratos is more clear and collected and thus is able to form a more effective fight strategy.

You can pinpoint the exact moment the prophecy changed and Kratos was no longer on the path that would lead to his death.
He beats Thor and gives him the chance to stand down, but Thor raises his hammer, says “we don’t change. We…are destroyers.” is still ready to go another round. Kratos has is axe raised and even flinches slightly ready to engage in further violence. But instead refuses and hits Thor with a line that actually strikes a chord: “For the sake of our children…we must be better”.
That one moment of Kratos choosing not to be a God of War is what saved his life from a prophesised death.
Can we talk about how Odin sounded a little scared when he came down and asked why Kratos wasnt dead. I think he was high key scared of him but played a cool front. Which is why he killed Thor to prevent them from teaming up which would've just been a nightmare for Odin
You know Odin, for someone who says they didn't want to kill his own son, you did it awfully quick and without remorse...
I always loved how Kratos and Thors fight didn't end with one killing the other.
But instead Kratos reaching out to Thor, telling him he doesn't have to be a "Destroyer" anymore. That their kids are a second chance. Something only parents could understand
The little nods of agreement and respect between Kratos and Thor before Odin arrives is brilliant.
1:57 Kratos took the same shot that knocked him out in the first fight, he ate Mjolnir’s shot. This was Thor full power, “nothing to lose.. one of us is dying.” That should tell you all you need to know as far as who’s stronger, holding back etc. Kratos was not going to die on this day.
Thor want very clear in his mind either. Otherwise you must know, all the nice realms depend on Thors decisions in his life. He is the starter of ragnarok. (Though GOW made Odin ALOT weaker than he is which is sorta sad)
@@laeronym5884 Thor was still bloodlusted and straight up powered up mid fight and Kratos still tanked that shot to the head. Also, Odin is really strong in GoW, he just doesn't look as visually impressive, but we know he killed Ymir and made most of the realms with his body and he fought Kratos, Atreus, and Freya at the same time, so he's clearly strong.
I love how during the fight Kratos screams sound very similar to that of his young self. Like in this moment 1:47 Showing that he has to go with almost everything he has against Thor. Even to the verge of almost releasing the Ghost of Sparta.

@@madslayer4197 He definitely was still, just much less than in the first fight, mostly because he wasn't trying to kill Thor and was controlling his rage which is Kratos's main power so he's nerfing himself at all times unless he truly loses his shit like at the end of the first Thor fight or against Heimdall at the end also. Thor is still crazy strong though.

Kratos had extra enchantments on his weapons cause of it Thor was getting permanent injuries and more blood loss

I was kinda sad when thor died, he’s probably one of the most in depth character in most games even tho we only see him for about an hour in total, his character arc was really good

@@therealkhobe-2721 because Odin made him that way. Kratos was the same way in the original god of war, killing anybody because they were in his way, but he changed, and I feel like thor was about to hit that change before odin killed him
I was sad because he was literally like you being escorted through a mission for once. They made that connect feel special.

I like how the only thing that really changed between this and the first fight is that Kratos was not okay with dying this time. He got over the shackles of prophecy, as Artemy Burakh said, "Every decision is right, as long as it is willed"
Atreus put the soul of a giant in a snake. The snake started getting bigger and bigger until it became the world serpent. There was no time travel. Thor killed the giants (or so he assumed) and therefore the snake has a deep running hatred for him.

I like to think that the dust/energy Thor became after dying, either went into or was absorbed by Thrud and is what contributed to her ability to wield Mjolnir at the end of the game. As if it's Thor's spirit that becomes part of her. That didn't happen when the other Aesir died, they were merely corpses.

can anybody tell me that are there any settings for the blood or gore because i have played 3,4 ng+ but i cant see the blood on thor’s face in my game like its showing in this video and many others i have seen

The cycle does repeat. Even though it was 3 on 1. Atreaus still fought Odin. He faced a king of Gods. Gave him a chance to do better. And ended things beautifully. He did better then Kratos originally did which shows how far Kratos came as a father and his teachings

can someone explain why the dagger Kratos uses to stab on Thor's hand so powerful? It actually holds Thor down.
In the previous game Kratos mentioned to Atreus that he made that knife using metals from both Greece and this realms metal. So it's the greek magic that makes the knife strong.

Odin isn't to be underestimated. He is still one of the most powerful gods, plus thor didn't really want to kill his dad.
I dont doubt Thor could overpower him, but Odin is far more powerful than in just physical strength. He could disarm Thor in any number of ways, he is the only character in the game that can use every kind of magic after all.

Yeah in 4 years we have been hearing how overpowered Thor was, and the fight was over in 2 mins and we saw no feats of Thors strenght, just Kratos quickly stabbing a few times and the battle was over
