  • The wonderful string chorus ensemble sound of the Roland RS-202, a classic string synth of the 1970s.

Just bought one from a pawn shop for 150.00. Insanely good deal. I can't wait to have time to record with it. Great demo by the way.

These last days I've been wondering what string synth I should get, thanks to your demo I have made up my mind :) I'm going with the Roland RS-202!

I wish I had never sold mine back in the late 80's. I bought it instead of an Arp Solina because I thought it sounded thicker. I still stand by that decision.

I regret selling mine too - I was thinking to get a 505, but now those are getting expensive too

Tomita used one on his Planets album...? Always wondered how he got such a brilliant synthetic string sound. Maybe he layered it with effex.

he layered it with the moog too, being polyphonic made it much easier than building up the chords a note at a time with the moog but both methods can make very good strings.

The Korg Polysix was my first synth. Yes it was capable of beautiful sounding strings. Sawtooth wave and ensemble effect.

For me, the Korg Lambda offered a lot more. Mind you, it has quite a lot more facilities

RS-505 is lot better. It has envelope, filter + overall more options.
