    Hi Meg! I want to thank you for all this wonderful inspiration! I SOOO LOVE using the accordion journal that you taught!! I have never worked in a small journal ... but I LOVE it because it feels like so much less stress for some reason ... and I love that the pages fold out so they can be used in a larger way if need be ... and are soo pretty when they all blend into one another! This whole junk journal july project has been soo much fun and RELAXING ... thank you for providing an UN-STRESSFUL FUN adventure!! I LOVE your journal pages ... and I LOVE seeing all the creativity from everyone else participating!! THANK YOU AGAIN!!

    GORGEOUS!! So lovely how everything coordinates beautifully. You mentioned about how you love peoples writing you find in vintage books. I have a German dictionary from 1893 where a girl wrote her high school schedule for each class period, including the days of the week and times. She signed her name and the date in Apr 1893, and it’s all in PENCIL. It’s faded but definitely all the details readable. I’ve not been able to tear it out to use in my journals as it’s such a treasure. Thanks for another wonderful video. LOVE your beautiful creations! Blessings! Stacy

      Wow! I don't think I would use that either! I've not found anything other than the odd name or a birthday note. Always makes me think about the life it's had. Thanks for watching!

    Very pretty. I like how you did you journal, it’s different. My favorite is when you use envelopes. I like the see through flip you did and also the small envelope. TFS!

    Thank you for this beautiful and inspiring flip through. I love the style that is emerging and love how it all flows so well. I followed one of your tutorials and made one of the small junk journals and sewed 4 signatures into the spine. So addictive, I actually made two. I started the July Junk journal prompts, am a little behind, but that's ok. I sometimes wish I could think ahead and make things flow like you do, but my brain is currently not wired that way, so every page is very very different. I think the next time I will try an accordion style journal as it may inspire me to think of it as a theme so that it flows better. Thanks again for sharing your wonderful work. Brenda from South Africa!

      Aw thank you! It looks planned but I promise it's not lol! Using the same colours or similar papers across pages can help your pages to feel more cohesive if that's something you're looking for. Thanks for watching and I hope you have fun with the challenge!

    Thank you for sharing! I appreciate your honesty about having some difficulty. Every now and then i have a harder time getting my creative juices going too. Its good to know im not alone. And thanks for bringing up the bit about working out of order. I actually have but only because i thought something else would have looked better on the page. Again good to know I wasnt the only one with that question too. Really appreciate you putting this together. Ive really enjoyed it. 😍😍

    I was sharing with a friend also participating in the challenge that my journal can't decide if it's a junk journal or an art journal. I always blend journal styles together! I'm working on mine a bit as a whole, too, so I'll do little bits of the prompts in stages. But it feels alive and organic, and I love it! Thanks for a fun summer challenge!

    Beautiful pages, Meg🥰 This is the first time I am participating. So far I have done two prompts 'wanderlust' & 'botanical'. I was late starting, because I had to make a journal first, also for the first time😊 I am amazed how you are able to finish one prompt in 30 min., you must be incredible organised!🤔?

    • @megjournals
      @megjournals  Před 3 lety +1

      Thank you so much! I think because I created the prompt list I might have an advantage because I somewhat knew what I would do for each page - not planned, but I suppose I've thought about it a little before i sit down to journal if that makes sense! Working to a time limit can also help you make decisions quicker haha.

    Meg: I think the accordion journal is a neat idea. Additionally, I feel your pages do look like they go together, but are individually created in such a way that they look a bit different,- almost like it might be called a “mood page,” if you will. Very nice work. Carol from California

      Thanks so much! Yes I add a little bit of instant coffee to water in a mug and use it like watercolour with an old brush. If you have a jar with a lid you can store it like that for a little while if you're creating over a few days. We used to have jars of coffee in the cupboards in art class all the time :)
