Charlotte's Wish to Meet A Unicorn | Make-A-Wish® Central and Northern Florida

- Charlotte diagnosed with severe aplastic anemia receives her wish to meet a Unicorn.
Charlotte is a 6-year-old girl who adores swinging at the park with her friends, playing dress up, and most of all, loves unicorns. She says that unicorns are magical and she would love to ride one and tell it, “I love you!” Make-A-Wish knew the perfect magical unicorn who wanted to meet Charlotte, too!
To begin her wish, Charlotte, alongside her mom and dad, arrived at the Ritz-Carlton Sarasota. That night, the family enjoyed a dinner with all of Charlotte’s favorite foods! The next morning, Charlotte became a professional cupcake decorator with Pastry Chef Amy and her team; completely decked out in her own purple chef’s uniform.
Afterward, Charlotte and her mom Estela became princesses at the Ritz Carlton’s spa. And at dinner, the family met Cinderella - where she received a unicorn dress and headband for a very important excursion!
The next day, Charlotte spent an unforgettable morning meeting a unicorn! She finally got her chance to ride the unicorn and feed him magical unicorn food. The smile on her face was priceless. The unicorn and Charlotte were inseparable, matching in their flower headdresses!
The fun continued with a trip to the Mote Marine Aquarium and a day at the beach. Charlotte and her family had a spectacular time and made memories that will last a lifetime!

I wanna say to this family thank you for this video my 4 year old daughter is now going threw this with a plastic wilms tumor as a single father of 2 when I seen this video I could not stop crying cause I seen my princess in this littles girls place thanks to this story that little girl gives me hope thank you so much words can't express how I ran across this video at 3am cause of the sleep I don't get thank you Charlotte for never giving up and this mom and dad for staying strong and pushing threw all as I try myself not to give up

This was beautiful I am mentally disabled and Unicorns is my favorite animal I was born with autism and anxiety and OCD and ADHD and learning disability where my brain doesn’t function normal then it should be I had to get heart surgery and there might be a chance of me going back into surgery because my patch is leaking a 100% now Unicorns always will be my favorite animal

When I was a baby I had a feeding tube and a breathing tube, but that is nothing compared to what she had to go through. She is amazing and I will always look up to her. :)

Char turned 9 in August 2020 and I'm happy to tell you all... She's Cancer FREE!!! She's no longer having invasive procedures. She's growing and eating and healthy! BTW, I just got her a GORGEOUS over the top boutique hair bow for one of her Christmas presents because she's got a long BEAUTIFUL head of blonde hair!!

I'm a kid and I've got a depression for a year and anxiety for half a year my mental health was completely fine but just somewhere I felt sad I didn't know what it was I just felt down and sad I keep crying and crying and I found it hard to smile and everyone told me I was exaggerating and that I'm only doing that to get attention but everything started getting bad I felt jealous of the other kids for being happy I was just a mess but then school came in and man was that a ride the stress of the school and the tire was very hard I almost killed myself my mental health was really bad all the things that made me happy like animals,video games and much more and I taught I wasn't being myself I compared myself to my older self i was happy and excited but after that i was stressed and sad i had a hard time i had a hard time paying attention cause all the small voices keep arguing saying : why are you so sad you’re a kid ,but isnt life a mess ? It’s so hard don’t you wnna die “ no death is scary

To clear a few things up. No it DOES NOT have to be fatal. NO make a wish doesn't ask you. May wishes have been granted of the illness has came and passed. Also make a wish while a wonderful and caring foundation is not the only wish granting foundation.

Actually, for a bone marrow transplant, you do need chemotherapy. The chemo is used to kill all of the unhealthy bone marrow so the new bone marrow can be transplanted in safely.
